Description
The present invention relates to a deodorizing device that has excellent durability of deodorizing effect.
In recent years, along with the increasing demand for more comfortable living, there has also been a growing need for odor control measures to make living spaces more comfortable. Conventionally, methods of using spray-type, aerosol-type, or stationary deodorants to spray or volatilize the space have been known to combat odors in daily life. In these deodorants, organic deodorant components such as dihydrazide compounds and amine compounds, or plant extracts such as polyphenols are used as deodorant ingredients.
Conventionally, various deodorant liquids have been developed with the aim of improving deodorant functions. For example, Patent Document 1 reports that a deodorant containing a hydrazide compound, adenine sulfate, and cationic amino-modified silicone is not only excellent at removing aldehyde-based and ammonia-based malodorous components not only at room temperature but also in high temperature environments, but also has little re-release of the removed malodorous components. In addition, Patent Document 2 reports that a deodorant containing a hydrazide compound, hydroxylamine sulfate, smectite, and water can have an excellent deodorant effect against both aldehyde and ammonia. However, Patent Documents 1 and 2 do not consider improving the durability of the deodorant effect of the hydrazide compound.
As an odor control measure, it is also effective to use a deodorizing liquid in a space where odor elimination is required (such as an indoor space or the inside of a car) to eliminate or reduce odors in the space. When using a deodorizing liquid in a space like this, it is important that the deodorizing effect of the deodorizing ingredients lasts.
In light of this situation, the inventors have investigated the durability of deodorizing liquids containing various deodorizing ingredients, and have found that, when conventional deodorizing liquids are used by leaving them in a space, they provide excellent deodorizing effects while the liquid remains, but as time passes and the liquid dries out, the deodorizing effect disappears and cannot be sustained.
Therefore, the present invention aims to provide a deodorizing device that has excellent durability of deodorizing effect.
The inventors conducted extensive research to solve the above problems and discovered that a deodorizing liquid containing a deodorizing component and water, as well as a polyhydric alcohol, 3-methoxy-3-methylbutanol, and/or polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, dramatically improves the durability of the deodorizing effect of the deodorizing component, and that when used by impregnating an absorbent member, the deodorizing effect can be sustained even after the volatile components contained in the deodorizing liquid evaporate and become dry. They also discovered that by using a device configured to exert a deodorizing effect while the deodorizing liquid is absorbed into an absorbent member, it is possible to achieve deodorization with excellent durability. The present invention was completed through further research based on these findings.

The material of the deodorizing liquid storage section 1 in the deodorizing device of the second embodiment is not particularly limited and may be made of plastic, glass, ceramic, etc., but is preferably made of plastic.
The material of the deodorizing liquid suction part 3 in the deodorizing device of the second embodiment is not particularly limited as long as it can absorb the deodorizing liquid, but examples include fibrous materials such as natural fibers such as cotton, vegetable fibers, pulp, etc., synthetic fibers such as rayon, polyester, polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene, polyethylene, etc., or mixed fibers thereof; wood materials such as wood chips, rattan, bamboo, and sora; and resin sponge materials such as urethane foam. In addition, when the deodorizing liquid suction part 3 is formed of a fibrous material, it is preferably a nonwoven fabric, but it may also be a woven fabric, knitted fabric, etc. In FIG. 2, the shape of the deodorizing liquid suction part 3 is sheet-like, but it may also be rod-like, string-like, etc.
[how to use]
The deodorizing device of the present invention is used for the purpose of removing or reducing odors present in, for example, indoor spaces, vehicle interiors, pet keeping areas, and the like.
The deodorizing device of the present invention is installed in a space where deodorization is required (such as an interior space or a vehicle interior space), and the deodorizing effect is achieved by volatilizing the volatile components (such as water) of the deodorizing liquid from the deodorizing liquid absorbing section. In addition, with the deodorizing device of the present invention, even if the deodorizing liquid runs out and the deodorizing liquid absorbing section becomes dry over time, the deodorizing effect is achieved by the deodorizing components remaining in the deodorizing liquid absorbing section, so the device can be used continuously with the deodorizing liquid absorbing section in a dry state without replenishing the deodorizing liquid, replacing the deodorizing liquid absorbing section, or replacing the deodorizing device. The period during which the deodorizing liquid absorbing section can be used continuously from the point at which it dries varies depending on the composition of the deodorizing liquid and the space to be deodorized, but can be used continuously for about 120 days, preferably about 30 days, from the point at which the deodorizing liquid absorbing section dries.
The present invention will be described in more detail below with reference to examples and comparative examples, but the present invention is not limited to these.
Test Examples Deodorant liquids having the compositions shown in Tables 1 to 4 were prepared, and the following tests were carried out to evaluate the durability of the deodorant effect.
In this test, 0.4 g of deodorant liquid was dropped onto a test cloth, which was then air-dried for 20 minutes and left to stand for 60 minutes before the deodorant rate was measured. A high deodorant rate indicates excellent durability of the deodorant effect. When 0.4 g of deodorant liquid was applied to a test cloth and the deodorant rate was measured under the same conditions as above without drying or leaving to stand, it was confirmed that the deodorant rate was 30-80% in all of the examples and comparative examples.
The results are shown in Tables 1 to 4. In the deodorizing liquid containing only a hydrazide compound or an amide compound, the deodorizing rate was 0% after drying for 20 minutes and leaving to stand for 60 minutes, and the deodorizing effect of the hydrazide compound was not sustained (Comparative Examples 1 to 8). On the other hand, in the deodorizing liquid containing a hydrazide compound or an amide compound together with a polyhydric alcohol, 3-methoxy-3-methylbutanol, or polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, the deodorizing rate was high and the deodorizing effect was excellent in durability, even after drying for 20 minutes and leaving to stand for 60 minutes (Examples 1 to 28).
The deodorizing rate (initial deodorizing rate) measured without drying or standing using a deodorizing liquid containing acetohydrazide alone (Comparative Example 1) was 31%. In contrast, the deodorizing liquids (Examples 1 to 7) that used acetohydrazide as the hydrazide compound and contained polyhydric alcohol, 3-methoxy-3-methylbutanol, or polyoxyethylene alkyl ether had a deodorizing rate of 31% or more after 20 minutes of drying and 60 minutes of standing. In other words, it was confirmed that the deodorizing liquids of Examples 1 to 7, which contain polyhydric alcohol, 3-methoxy-3-methylbutanol, or polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, not only increase the durability of the deodorizing effect of acetohydrazide, but also improve the deodorizing effect rate (initial deodorizing effect) of acetohydrazide itself.
On the other hand, the deodorizing rate (initial deodorizing rate) measured without drying or standing using a deodorizing liquid containing only succinic acid dihydrazide (Comparative Example 2) was 75%. In contrast, when succinic acid dihydrazide was used as the hydrazide compound and a polyhydric alcohol, particularly a trihydric or higher polyhydric alcohol, was used as the (B) component (Examples 11 to 15), it was confirmed that the deodorizing effect was more durable. In particular, when butanetriol was used as the (B) component, it was confirmed that not only was the durability increased, but the deodorizing effect rate itself was also improved.
