Description
The present invention relates to a set of equipment and a method of playing that allows players to easily enjoy a competitive sport that combines the appeal of both boccia and golf.
Boccia, which was devised for people with disabilities and is one of the Paralympic sports, is known. Boccia is a sport in which players compete for points by throwing colored balls at a white jack ball. As a related technology, for example,
The
The objective of this invention is to provide a set of equipment and a method of playing boccia that will provide a new sport that can be easily enjoyed by a wide range of players, including not only disabled people, who currently make up the majority of boccia players, but also able-bodied players.
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a set of sports equipment to be used in a competitive sport in which a first team batting first and a second team batting second compete against each other at a predetermined competition location in the real world, the set of equipment comprising: N first balls (N: an integer of 2 or more) having a first color which is the team color of the first team, the first team members of the first team rolling the first balls within the competition location by throwing or kicking with their hands or by operating a pitching machine; N second balls having a second color which is the team color of the second team and different from the first color, the second team members of the second team rolling the second balls within the competition location by throwing or kicking with their hands or by operating a pitching machine; and a third color which is different from the first and second colors and which is used as a target when the first and second balls are rolled within the competition location. The game is characterized by being made to be a set of one third ball, a variable partitioned area in which the third ball is placed, an area-defining string having a fourth color different from the first color, the second color, and the third color for variably defining the annular outer line of the variable partitioned area in which the first and second balls thrown by hand, kicked by foot, or rolled by a ball throwing machine increase the scores of the first and second teams, respectively, according to the number of times they enter and stop, and at least one inclined disk that is placed as desired in the variable partitioned area by the first or second team to adjust the direction or speed of travel of the first and second balls that are thrown by hand, kicked by foot, or rolled by a ball throwing machine and enter the variable partitioned area, thereby making it easy to enjoy the competitive game that combines the interests of both boccia and golf.
The sports equipment set of the present invention includes a plurality of first balls, a plurality of second balls, and one third ball.
The first team, which is the leading team, can use N first balls of a first color (= the team color of the first team, for example, red) as their own balls. The second team, which is the second team, can use N second balls of a second color (= the team color of the second team, for example, blue) as their own balls.
Each team progresses in the game by rolling their team's ball (first ball or second ball) in the game area by throwing, kicking, or operating a specified pitching machine (such as a so-called ramp). If a team does not throw or kick the ball or operate the pitching machine by themselves, but an assistant throws, kicks, or operates the pitching machine, the assistant is also considered to be a member of the team in this invention. In order to serve as a target for the rolling, the game set of this invention includes a third ball (so-called jack ball) of a third color (for example, white) different from the first and second colors. By using this third ball, as in boccia and curling, for example, players can compete for points based on the number of their team's balls (so-called IN balls) that are closer to the third ball than the opponent's ball closest to the third ball (= number of in-balls) (= in-ball game).
The sports equipment set of the present invention further includes an area defining string and an inclined disk.
The area-defining string is used to define an area of a certain range near the final goal point, such as a golf green. In the present invention, the outer line of the area is defined by using a string that is not solid but has an indefinite shape and can be freely deformed, so that the area corresponding to the golf green (variable partition area) can be variably formed into a desired shape.
By using this area-defining string, players can compete for points based on the number of their team's balls (so-called ON balls) that are ultimately in the variable-area zone (=on-ball game). In this case, the third ball does not need to be used. Alternatively, the above-mentioned in-ball game using the third ball can be combined with this on-ball game to compete for points based on the total number of in-balls of the first or second team and the number of on-balls of the first and second teams (=in-ball/on-ball combined game). In the case of the in-ball/on-ball combined game, the team that stops the IN ball (so-called near-pin) closest to the
The tilted disks are also used to adjust the direction and speed of the ball as the game progresses with each team rolling the ball as described above. That is, for example, the tilted disks can be positioned so that the team's ball approaches the third ball on a trajectory that goes around and crosses the opponent's ball that is in front of the third ball. Alternatively, the tilted disks can be positioned to change the direction of travel or increase or decrease the speed to put the opponent's ball at a disadvantage. Therefore, the position of the tilted disks can also be an important strategic point in the operation.
As described above, the sports equipment set of the present invention allows players to easily enjoy a new sport that combines the appeal of both boccia and golf. As a result, it is possible to provide a new sport that can be easily enjoyed by a wide range of players, including not only disabled players, who currently make up the majority of boccia players, but also able-bodied players.
The present invention makes it possible to provide a new sport that can be easily enjoyed by a wide range of athletes, including not only disabled people, who currently make up the majority of Boccia athletes, but also able-bodied athletes.
Below, one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that the embodiment described below is for illustrative purposes only and does not limit the technical scope of the present invention. Therefore, a person skilled in the art could adopt an embodiment in which each of the components below is replaced with an equivalent, and such an embodiment would also be within the technical scope of the present invention. In addition, in the following description, explanations of unimportant publicly known technical matters will be omitted or simplified as appropriate to facilitate understanding of the present invention.
<Overview of the competition>
The competitive game according to this embodiment is played in a predetermined competition location between a first team batting first and a second team batting second, using the sports equipment set 1. The competition location is not particularly limited, but may be a competition location in the real world, not online or within a game device, and may be, for example, a conference room, an empty space in an office, various public facilities such as a gymnasium, or an event venue. Below, an overview of the competitive game using the sports equipment set 1 according to this embodiment will be described with reference to Figs. 1 to 3.
As shown in FIG. 1 , a sports equipment set 1 of this embodiment includes a plurality of
The first team, which is the first batting team, can use N
The players of each team progress through the game by rolling the
The sports equipment set 1 of this embodiment includes one third ball 4 (so-called jack ball) of a third color (e.g., white) different from the first and second colors. The players of each team roll the
The
As shown in FIG. 1, the sports equipment set 1 further includes an
The
The
The area-defining
In addition, by using this area-defining
Alternatively, the aforementioned in-ball game using the
In either of the above two aspects, the shape of the variable partition area G, whose shape can be freely changed by the arrangement of the area-defining
The
In an in-ball game, the first team can freely place the
In addition, in this embodiment, in addition to the
In addition, in an in-ball game, the use of the
As shown in FIG. 3, a rolling start reference position T (throwing line) is defined at a predetermined location a predetermined distance away from the variable partition area G using a quasi-position
As shown in FIG. 2, the quasi-position

<Flow of the competition>
An example of the flow of a competition is explained below in order. The flow of a competition includes, for example, steps (1) to (13).
(1) Two teams will be made up of 1-3 players each, and will compete in one match of 2-6 ends. Each player can voluntarily pre-register for the competition app via a smartphone or other device.
(2) Each player will do warm-up exercises and stretching.
(3) Each player faces each other, standing 3 to 4 meters apart, and practices pitching by rolling the ball around and playing catch.
(4) Determine the position of the "center mark C" shown in Figure 3, and mark it with tape or the like if necessary. Next, set the "throwing line T" about 3 to 4.5 meters from the center mark C. Specifically, since the circular
(5) The umpire will announce the team names, player nicknames, the scoring rules that will be used, and explain the penalty provisions.
(6) The representative players of each team will throw one colored ball from the throwing line, and the team that can stop the colored ball closer to the center mark C than the opposing team will choose whether to bat first or second. In the following explanation of this example, the team that bats first will be referred to as the first team, and the team that bats second will be referred to as the second team.
(7) The second team places the area-defining
(8) The second team places the third ball 4 (jack ball) and the

(11) A player from the second team throws the first
(12) If both teams' balls come to a halt inside the variable demarcated area G, the player on the team that threw the ball farther than the
(13) All players on a team throw the same number of pitches (in any order). Step (12) above and this step correspond to the fourth step.
The series of steps (7) to (13) above constitutes one end, and one match ends by repeating the same steps from the first end up to the sixth end.

Players should refrain from making negative comments and instead aim to liven up the competition with positive comments and attitudes. Referees should aim to ensure the smooth progress of the match. After the match, players should look back on each other's good plays and take photographs with their team's balls for record purposes, making time for players to deepen their interactions.
<Competition Results>
FIG. 7 shows an example of the game result. FIG. 7(a) shows an example of the game result recorded on the scoreboard when the first and second teams play from the first end (1st) to the sixth end (6th) by the scoring method of the in-ball/on-ball combined game. In this scoreboard, "ON" means the score based on the number of on-balls, "IN" means the score based on the number of in-balls, "Near Pin" means the score based on the nearest pin, "Penalty" means the penalty deduction, and "HC Total" means the score based on the handicap added according to the ability of each player. "Total w/HC" means the total number of all the scores of each team in one match.
For example, in the first end, the first team gets 3 points for in-ball hits, 6 points for on-ball hits, 2 points for near-pin hits, and 0 points for penalty deductions, giving a total of 11 points. From the first end to the sixth end, the first team gets 5 points for in-ball hits, 33 points for on-ball hits, and 4 points for near-pin hits. The total of these points plus the player's handicap of 6 points gives a total of 48 points. For example, in the first end, the second team gets 0 points for in-ball hits, 4 points for on-ball hits, 0 points for near-pin hits, and 0 points for penalty deductions, giving a total of 4 points. From the first end to the sixth end, the first team gets 7 points for in-ball hits, 30 points for on-ball hits, 8 points for near-pin hits, and -1 point for penalty deductions. The total of these points plus the player's handicap of 8 points gives a total of 52 points, giving the second team a victory.
Figure 7(b) is an example of the result of a game in which the first and second teams play from the first end to the sixth end using the in-ball game scoring method. The format of this scoreboard is the same as that of Figure 7(a), but the "ON" column and the "Near Pin" column, which are not used in in-ball games, are grayed out. For example, the first team's score for the number of in-balls in the first end is 5 points. The total number of in-balls from the first end to the sixth end is 10 points. For example, the second team's score for the number of in-balls in the first end is 0 points. The total number of in-balls from the first end to the sixth end is 9 points, and the first team wins.
