Abstract
Description
本出願は、その全体が参照により本明細書に組み込まれている、2019年4月24日に出願した米国特許出願第62/837,760号の優先権を主張する。
よって、電気泳動媒体用の顔料粒子への改善されたコーティングに対する必要性が存在する。
「ポリマー」という用語は、本明細書で使用される場合、同じ種類または2種もしくはそれよりも多くの種類であるかに関わらず、モノマーを重合することにより調製されるポリマー化合物を指す。したがって、ポリマーという一般名は「ホモポリマー」という用語を包含することを意図し、「インターポリマー」という用語は、本明細書で以下に定義される通りである。微量の不純物が、ポリマー構造に、および/またはポリマー構造内に組み込まれていてもよい。

Claims (15)
- 前記ポリマーが前記中間残基にイオン結合している、請求項1に記載の電気泳動粒子。
- 前記ポリマーが前記中間残基に共有結合している、請求項1に記載の電気泳動粒子。
- 前記スチレン系モノマーが、4-フルオロスチレン、2-フルオロスチレン、4-クロロスチレン、2-クロロスチレン、4-ブロモスチレン、2-ブロモ-スチレン、4-ヨードスチレン、2-ヨードスチレン、およびこれらの組合せからなる群より選択される、請求項1に記載の電気泳動粒子。
- 前記ポリマーが、前記電気泳動粒子の約1~約15重量パーセントを構成する、請求項1に記載の電気泳動粒子。
- 前記顔料粒子が金属酸化物または水酸化物を含む、請求項1に記載の電気泳動粒子。
- 前記顔料粒子がチタニアを含む、請求項6に記載の電気泳動粒子。
- 前記チタニアがシリカでコーティングされている、請求項7に記載の電気泳動粒子。
- 前記中間残基がシランから誘導される、請求項1に記載の電気泳動粒子。
- 前記シランが、3-(トリメトキシシリル)プロピルアクリレート、3-(トリメトキシシリル)プロピルメタクリレート、およびこれらの組合せからなる群より選択される、請求項9に記載の電気泳動粒子。
- 前記顔料粒子が、亜クロム酸銅およびマンガンフェライトのうちの少なくとも1種を含む、請求項1に記載の電気泳動粒子。
- 前記1種または複数のモノマーが、アクリレート、メタクリレート、ハロゲン置換アクリレート、およびハロゲン置換メタクリレートのうちの1種または複数をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の電気泳動粒子。
- 前記1種または複数のモノマーが、2-エチルヘキシルメタクリレート、メチルメタクリレート、イソブチルメタクリレート、t-ブチルメタクリレート、ラウリルメタクリレート、イソボルニルメタクリレート、2-エチルヘキシルアクリレート、t-ブチルアクリレート、2,2,3,4,4,4-ヘキサフルオロブチルアクリレート、2,2,2-トリフルオロエチルメタクリレート、および3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8-トリデカフルオロオクチルアクリレート、2-フルオロエチルメタクリレート、2-フルオロエチルアクリレート、2-クロロエチルメタクリレート、2-クロロエチルアクリレート、2-ブロモエチルメタクリレート、ならびに2-ブロモエチルアクリレートのうちの1種または複数を含む、請求項12に記載の電気泳動粒子。
- 懸濁流体に懸濁されている、請求項1に記載の複数の電気泳動粒子を含む電気泳動媒体。
- 請求項14に記載の電気泳動媒体、および前記媒体に隣接して配置され、電場を前記媒体に印加することが可能な少なくとも1つの電極を含む、電気光学ディスプレイ。
