Description
Claims (16)
- 非矩形周縁部を含む音響素子のアレイであって、超音波エネルギーを放出し、放出された前記超音波エネルギーに対応するエコーを受け取る複数のアクティブ素子、及び、前記音響素子のアレイの前記非矩形周縁部において、前記複数のアクティブ素子を囲む複数の緩衝素子をさらに含む、音響素子のアレイと、
前記複数の緩衝素子の周りに少なくとも部分的に位置付けられた封止材料を含むエッジシールと、
を含み、
前記複数の緩衝素子のうちの1つの緩衝素子は、前記エッジシールの前記封止材料によって少なくとも1つの他の緩衝素子から離間されている、
超音波イメージングデバイス。 - 前記非矩形周縁部は、湾曲セグメントを含む、請求項1に記載の超音波イメージングデバイス。
- 前記非矩形周縁部は、多角形を含む、請求項1に記載の超音波イメージングデバイス。
- 前記複数の緩衝素子の第1の部分の各緩衝素子は、非矩形プロファイルを含み、前記複数の緩衝素子の前記第1の部分は、前記音響素子のアレイの外縁部にある、請求項1に記載の超音波イメージングデバイス。
- 前記複数の緩衝素子の第2の部分の各緩衝素子は、矩形プロファイルを含み、前記複数の緩衝素子の前記第2の部分は、前記音響素子のアレイの前記外縁部から離間されている、請求項4に記載の超音波イメージングデバイス。
- 前記エッジシールは、
前記音響素子のアレイの前記非矩形周縁部と直接接触する第1の封止材料であって、複数のカーフを含む、第1の封止材料と、
前記第1の封止材料の周りに位置付けられ、前記第1の封止材料の前記複数のカーフ内に配置される第2の封止材料と、
を含む、請求項1に記載の超音波イメージングデバイス。 - 前記音響素子のアレイの表面に結合されたプロセッサチップをさらに含み、前記プロセッサチップは、前記音響素子のアレイの前記非垂直周縁部と整列する非垂直周縁部を含む、請求項1に記載の超音波イメージングデバイス。
- ハウジングをさらに含み、前記音響素子のアレイは、前記ハウジングに結合されている、請求項1に記載の超音波イメージングデバイス。
- 超音波イメージングデバイスを製造する方法であって、
音響スタックが非矩形周縁部を含むように、前記音響スタックの周縁部から材料を除去するステップと、
第1の方向において、前記音響スタック内に第1の複数のカーフを形成するステップと、
前記音響スタックの前記非矩形周縁部に第1の封止材料を堆積させるステップと、
前記第1の封止材料が前記第1の複数のカーフに入ることを可能にするステップと、
前記第1の封止材料を硬化させるステップと、
第2の方向において、前記音響スタック及び前記第1の封止材料内に第2の複数のカーフを形成して、音響素子のアレイを形成するステップと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記音響スタックの前記周縁部から材料を除去するステップは、湾曲セグメントを形成するステップを含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記音響スタックの前記周縁部から材料を除去するステップは、多角形セグメントを形成するステップを含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の封止材料が前記第1の複数のカーフに入ることを可能にするステップは、前記第1の封止材料が約150ミクロンと約250ミクロンとの間で前記音響スタック内に進入するのを待つステップを含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の封止材料は、エポキシを含み、前記第1の封止材料を硬化させるステップは、前記エポキシに紫外線を向けるステップを含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の封止材料の周りに第2の封止材料を堆積させるステップと、
前記第2の封止材料が前記第2の複数のカーフに入ることを可能にするステップと、
前記第2の封止材料を硬化させるステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項9に記載の方法。 - 処理チップが非垂直周縁部を含むように、前記処理チップから材料を除去するステップと、
前記処理チップの前記非垂直周縁部が前記音響スタックの前記非垂直周縁部と整列するように、前記処理チップを前記音響スタックに結合するステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項9に記載の方法。 - 前記音響素子のアレイをハウジングに結合するステップをさらに含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
