Abstract
Description
試験食餌、および対照食餌は、アメリカ飼料検査官協会(AAFCO)の栄養勧告に従って処方された。処方物は、押出成形で製造され、乾燥され、美味剤でコーティングされた。試験食餌および対照食餌は両方とも、単純なイヌのメンテナンス処方物であり、以下の表1に示すとおり、同一処方であった。

Claims (18)
- 押出成形されたペットフード組成物であって、前記押出成形されたペットフード組成物の総重量に基づいて、少なくとも約7重量%、例えば約7重量%〜約30重量%、または約9重量%〜約13重量%の量の難消化性デンプンを含む、押出成形されたペットフード組成物。
- 前記難消化性デンプンの供給源が、全粒トウモロコシおよび酒米のうちの少なくとも一つである、請求項1に記載の押出成形されたペットフード組成物。
- 前記押出成形されたペットフード組成物がキブルである、請求項1または2に記載の押出成形されたペットフード組成物。
- 前記押出成形されたペットフード組成物がドッグフードである、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の押出成形されたペットフード組成物。
- 前記押出成形されたペットフード組成物を摂取する動物で、N6−カルボキシ3−メチルリシン、N6−カルボキシ3−エチルリシン、およびピラリンのうちの少なくとも一つの量が減少する、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の押出成形されたペットフード組成物。
- カルノシンの量が、前記押出成形されたペットフード組成物を摂取する動物において増加する、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の押出成形されたペットフード組成物。
- ドーパミン硫酸の量が、前記押出成形されたペットフード組成物を摂取する動物において増加し、および/または3−メチルカテコール硫酸の量が、前記ペットフード組成物を摂取する動物において減少する、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の押出成形されたペットフード組成物。
- 前記難消化性デンプンの量が、前記押出成形されたペットフード組成物の総重量に基づいて、約20重量%〜約30重量%の範囲である、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の押出成形されたペットフード組成物。
- 押出成形のためのペットフード原材料を提供する工程と、
押出装置を使用して前記ペットフード原材料を押し出す工程と、を含む方法によって作製されるペットフード組成物であって、
前記押出装置の比機械的エネルギーと比熱エネルギーとの合計が、60W・h/kg未満であり、

ペットフード組成物を前記動物に投与する工程であって、前記ペットフード組成物が、押出成形のためのペットフード原材料を提供すること、および前記ペットフード原材料を押出装置を用いて押し出すことを含む方法によって作製され、前記押出装置の比機械的エネルギーの合計が、25W・h/kg未満であり、また前記押出成形されたペットフード組成物が、前記ペットフード組成物の総重量に基づいて、少なくとも約7重量%の量の難消化性デンプンを含む、投与する工程を含み、
