The present disclosure relates to an injector mounting structure.

Generally, in a direct-injection internal combustion engine, a head hole and a cover hole are provided through the cylinder head and the head cover to be fastened to each other. Injectors are inserted into these head holes and cover holes with a radial gap. The gap between the cover hole and the injector is sealed by the sealing member.

Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2009-236219

The above sealing member may be detachably attached to the head cover. In this case, for example, when the injector is inserted or removed for position adjustment during assembly, the seal member may be displaced and the seal may be loosened, and water may enter the cover hole and thus the head hole from the outside. If water enters the head hole, the water may stay at the bottom of the head hole for a relatively long period of time, causing the cylinder head and injector to rust.

Therefore, the present disclosure was devised in view of such circumstances, and an object of the present disclosure is to provide an injector mounting structure capable of suppressing the intrusion of water into the head hole.

It is a vertical cross-sectional view which shows the injector mounting structure. It is an enlarged view of the main part of FIG.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. It should be noted that the present disclosure is not limited to the following embodiments.

FIG. 1 is a vertical cross-sectional view showing an injector mounting structure according to the present embodiment. Such a mounting structure is a structure for mounting an injector 1 as a fuel injection valve to a direct injection type internal combustion engine (engine). The engine of the present embodiment is a diesel engine for vehicles, but the type and use thereof are not particularly limited. For example, the engine may be a gasoline engine.

The engine is a multi-cylinder engine, but the figure shows only one cylinder. For convenience, the dimensions of each part are deformed to emphasize the characteristics of each part.

The injector mounting structure is inserted into the head hole 4 and the cover hole 5 provided so as to penetrate the cylinder head 2 and the head cover 3 to be fastened to each other, and the head hole 4 and the cover hole 5 with a radial gap. Around the injector 1, the first seal member 6 that is detachably attached to the head cover 3 around the cover hole 5 and is in contact with the injector 1 to seal the gap between the cover hole 5 and the injector 1, and around the head hole 4. A second sealing member 7 is provided which is sandwiched between the cylinder head 2 and the head cover 3 and is brought into contact with the injector 1 to seal the gap between the head hole 4 and the injector 1.

In the case of the present embodiment, the cylinder head 2 is divided into upper and lower parts, and is composed of a lower cylinder head main body 2A and an upper cam carrier 2B. These are superposed on each other and assembled by bolts (not shown). A valve, a valve spring, etc. (not shown) are mainly assembled to the cylinder head main body 2A, and a camshaft (not shown) is mainly assembled to the cam carrier 2B. The cylinder head 2 does not have to have a divided structure.

The head hole 4 is composed of a main body hole 4A provided in the cylinder head main body 2A and a carrier hole 4B provided in the cam carrier 2B. These holes 4A and 4B are located coaxially. These holes 4A and 4B have a slightly larger diameter than the injector 1 and have the same diameter as each other, but may have different diameters from each other. A reduced diameter portion 9 is provided at the lower end of the main body hole 4A, whereby a shoulder portion 8 formed of a plane perpendicular to the hole axis C is formed in the main body hole 4A. The shoulder portion 10 of the injector 1 is pressed against the shoulder portion 8 to seal between the two. A seal packing may be provided between the shoulders 8 and 10 of the two. The hole shaft C means the central shaft of the head hole 4, and in the present embodiment, means the central shaft of the carrier hole 4B.

The nozzle portion 1A of the injector 1 having the same reduced diameter is inserted into the reduced diameter portion 9. Fuel is injected into the combustion chamber 12 from the injection hole 11 at the tip of the nozzle portion 1A.

The head cover 3 is assembled on the cam carrier 2B and covers the cam carrier 2B. The head cover 3 of the present embodiment is made of resin, but may be made of metal. The head cover 3 is assembled on the cam carrier 2B by a plurality of bolts 13 (only one is shown). A cylindrical collar 14 is fitted around the bolt 13 to prevent compression deformation of the head cover 3 due to tightening of the bolt 13. The collar 14 is fitted and inserted into the collar hole 15 of the head cover 3, and the gap between the collar 14 and the collar hole 15 is sealed by the color seal member 16. The bolt 13 is tightened in the female screw hole 21 provided in the cam carrier 2B.

The cover hole 5 is located coaxially with the carrier hole 4B. The cover hole 5 has a slightly larger diameter than the injector 1 and has the same diameter as the carrier hole 4B, but may have a different diameter than the carrier hole 4B.

Further, an injector bracket 17 is provided which presses the injector 1 downward to press the shoulder portion 10 of the injector 1 against the shoulder portion 8 of the main body hole 4A. As is well known, the injector bracket 17 is provided with a bifurcated finger portion 18 at its tip, and is pushed downward by a bolt 19 to rotate with the base end as a fulcrum, and the injector 1 is engaged by the finger portion 18. The surface 20 is pushed downward.

The bolt 19 is sequentially inserted from above into the insertion hole 22 provided in the head cover 3 and the insertion hole 23 provided in the cam carrier 2B, and then tightened in the female screw hole 24 provided in the cylinder head body 2A. .. A head (not shown) located at the upper end of the bolt 19 pushes the injector bracket 17 downward.

As shown in FIG. 2, the first sealing member 6 is an annular member made of an elastic material such as rubber. The first sealing member 6 integrally includes an annular plate-shaped disk portion 25 perpendicular to the hole axis C and a cylindrical flange portion 26 protruding downward in the hole axis C direction from the outer peripheral edge portion of the disk portion 25. It is formed with an L-shaped cross section.

Correspondingly, a first mounting groove 27 for mounting the first sealing member 6 is provided around the cover hole 5 on the upper surface portion of the head cover 3. The first mounting groove 27 is also formed in an annular shape and an L-shaped cross section.

The first seal member 6 is detachably attached to the first mounting groove 27 in close contact with the inner surface of the first mounting groove 27 by its own elastic force. Specifically, the outer peripheral surfaces of the disk portion 25 and the flange portion 26 are elastically brought into close contact with the outer peripheral surface 28 of the first mounting groove 27, and the inner peripheral surface of the flange portion 26 is attached to the inner peripheral surface 29 of the first mounting groove 27. It is elastically adhered. Then, the disk portion 25 is seated on the bottom surface 30 of the first mounting groove 27.

On the other hand, the inner peripheral edge portion 31 of the disk portion 25 is elastically adhered to the outer peripheral surface 32 of the injector 1. As a result, the gap 33 between the cover hole 5 and the outer peripheral surface 32 of the injector 1 is sealed.

Note that "A elastically adheres to B" means that A adheres to B due to the reaction force when A is compressionally deformed by B.

The first seal member 6 mainly functions as a dust seal for preventing external dust from entering the gap 33.

Next, the second seal member 7 will be described. The second seal member 7 is an annular member made of an elastic material such as rubber. The second seal member 7 integrally includes an annular plate-shaped disk portion 41 perpendicular to the hole axis C and a cylindrical flange portion 42 protruding downward in the hole axis C direction from the radial intermediate portion of the disk portion 41. It is formed with a T-shaped cross section.

The disk portion 41 is sandwiched and fixed between the upper surface of the cam carrier 2B and the lower surface of the head cover 3. Further, on the upper surface portion of the cam carrier 2B, an annular recess 43 for fitting and inserting the collar portion 42 is provided at a position separated from the carrier hole 4B by a predetermined distance outward in the radial direction.

When the disk portion 41 is sandwiched with the collar portion 42 inserted in the recess 43, the upper surface 41A of the disk portion 41 elastically adheres to the lower surface of the head cover 3 and the bottom surface 42A of the collar portion 42 is recessed as shown by the arrow. It comes into elastic contact with the bottom surface of 43. As a result, the gap 44 between the cam carrier 2B and the head cover 3 is sealed by the second sealing member 7. On the other side as well, the gap 44 is sealed by the third sealing member 45.

On the other hand, the inner peripheral edge portion 46 of the disk portion 41 is elastically brought into close contact with the outer peripheral surface 32 of the injector 1. As a result, the gap 47 between the carrier hole 4B and the outer peripheral surface 32 of the injector 1 is sealed. That is, the gap 47 is sealed or isolated from the gap 44 between the cam carrier 2B and the head cover 3, and at the same time, sealed or isolated from the gap 33 between the cover hole 5 and the injector 1.

The second seal member 7 mainly functions as an oil seal for preventing the oil in the cylinder head 2 existing in the gap 44 from entering the gap 47. At the same time, the present embodiment is characterized in that the second seal member 7 has a function of preventing water that has entered the gap 33 from entering the gap 47. The third seal member 45 functions as an oil seal similar to the second seal member 7.

By the way, in the present embodiment, the first seal member 6 is not fixed to the head cover 3, but is detachably attached. In this case, for example, when the injector 1 is inserted or removed for position adjustment during assembly, or when the engine vibrates, the first seal member 6 is displaced and the seal becomes loose, and the cover hole 5 or the gap 33 is opened from the outside. Water may infiltrate. The deviation of the first seal member 6 includes the fact that a part or all of the first seal member 6 comes off from the first mounting groove 27.

In the comparative example before the idea of the present disclosure, the second seal member 7 is not in contact with the injector 1. Therefore, the water that has entered the cover hole 5 or the gap 33 may further enter the head hole 4 or the gap 47 below the gap between the second seal member 7 and the injector 1. When water infiltrates, the water stays at the bottom of the head hole 4 (specifically, the main body hole 4A) for a relatively long period of time, and rusts the cylinder head 2 (specifically, the cylinder head main body 2A) and the injector 1. There is a risk of attaching it.

On the other hand, in the present embodiment, the second seal member 7 contacts the injector 1 and seals the gap between the head hole 4 and the injector 1 (specifically, the gap 47 between the carrier hole 4B and the injector 1). Therefore, even if water enters the cover hole 5, the water can be stopped and the water can be prevented from entering the head hole 4. Then, it is possible to prevent the water from staying at the bottom of the head hole 4 and causing the cylinder head body 2A and the injector 1 to rust, for example.

Further, since the second seal member 7 is sandwiched and fixed between the cylinder head 2 (specifically, the cam carrier 2B) and the head cover 3, the second seal member 7 can be moved by inserting or removing the injector 1 or by vibrating the engine. The seal can be maintained stably for a long period of time without shifting.

Moreover, since it is only necessary to reduce the inner diameter of the existing second seal member 7 in the comparative example and bring it into contact with the injector 1, a desired effect can be obtained by slightly improving the configuration of the existing second seal member 7. Be done.

Since the second seal member 7 is sandwiched and fixed, even if the inner diameter of the second seal member 7 is set small and the inner peripheral end edge portion 46 is strongly brought into contact with the injector 1, the injector 1 can be inserted or removed, etc. At this time, the second seal member 7 can be made difficult to shift. Therefore, the stability of the seal can be improved while increasing the sealing property.
