Abstract
Description
本発明の目的は、ミクロフィブリル化セルロースを含み、周囲のより高い相対湿度でもバリア性が改善されている、改善されたフィルムを提供することである。
本発明による方法は、ミクロフィブリル化セルロースを含む第1の懸濁液を提供し、ミクロフィブリル化ジアルデヒドセルロース(DA−MFC)を含む第2の懸濁液とその第1の懸濁液を混合して、混合物を形成させることに関する。次に、この混合物を基材上に塗布して繊維状のウェブを形成させ、その後このウェブを乾燥させて、フィルムの少なくとも1つの層を形成させる。驚くべきことに、ミクロフィブリル化セルロース及びジアルデヒドセルロース由来のミクロフィブリル化セルロース(DA−MFC)を含む混合物を形成させることにより、より安定な混合物が得られることが分かった。これにより、良好なバリアフィルムを形成させるための処理及び本混合物のその能力が改善される。さらに、少なくとも1つのフィルム層の生成においてこの混合物を使用することによって、高湿度でのバリア性が改善したフィルムが作製され得ることが分かった。とりわけ、驚くべきことに、湿度の変動に対して本フィルムが非常に良好な耐性を有することが分かった。低湿度から高湿度へ、低湿度へ、そしてまた高湿度へ戻るように湿度が変動しても、フィルムのバリア性は依然として良好なままであった。

例I:安定性試験
ミクロフィブリル化セルロース及びミクロフィブリル化ジアルデヒドセルロースの混合物を含む懸濁液と、ミクロフィブリル化ジアルデヒドセルロース(DA−MFC)を含む懸濁液の保管中の安定性を比較した。
38℃にて90%の湿度で、2回の異なるサイクルにて、MFCのみ、DA−MFCのみを含むフィルム及びMFC及びDA−MFCの混合物を含むフィルムに対するOTR値を測定した。
80%/20%の質量比でネイティブMFCと30%の平均D.O.のDA−MFCを混合した。分散液の固形物含量は3wt%であった。プラスチック基材上に混合物をキャストコーティングした。室温で乾燥させた後、フィルム厚は58μmであった。25g/m2の坪量でPEフィルムにフィルム試料を積層した。
80%/20%の質量比でネイティブMFCと30%の平均D.O.のDA−MFCを混合した。分散液の固形物含量は3wt%であった。プラスチック基材上に混合物をキャストコーティングした。室温で乾燥させた後、フィルム厚は58μmであった。このフィルムを「DA−MFCフィルム」と呼ぶ。比較として100%ネイティブMFCを用いたフィルムも作製し、これを「MFCフィルム」と呼んだ。基材へのネイティブMFCフィルムの接着は良好にキャスティングするには低すぎた。この問題を解決するために、15wt%のソルビトールをフィルムに添加した。表2及び図面の(s)でソルビトールの添加を記す。
80%/20%の質量比でネイティブMFCと30%の平均D.O.のDA−MFCを混合した。分散液の固形物含量は3wt%であった。プラスチック基材上に混合物をキャストコーティングした。室温で乾燥させた後、フィルム厚は58μmであった。このフィルムを「DA−MFCフィルム」と呼ぶ。比較として100%ネイティブMFCを用いたフィルムも作製し、これを「MFCフィルム」と呼んだ。基材へのネイティブMFCフィルムの接着は良好にキャスティングするには低すぎた。この問題を解決するために、15wt%のソルビトールをフィルムに添加した。表3の「(s)」でソルビトールの添加を記す。
Claims (23)
- 以下の工程を含む、少なくとも1つのフィルム層を製造するための方法:
ミクロフィブリル化セルロースを含む第1の懸濁液を提供すること、
ミクロフィブリル化ジアルデヒドセルロースを含む第2の懸濁液を提供すること、
混合物を形成させるために、前記第1の懸濁液を前記第2の懸濁液と混合すること、
繊維状のウェブを形成させるために前記混合物を基材に適用すること、
少なくとも1つの前記フィルムの層を形成させるために前記ウェブを乾燥させること。 - 混合物が、前記混合物の総繊維重量に対して20〜95重量%のミクロフィブリル化ジアルデヒドセルロースを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 混合物が、前記混合物の総繊維重量に対して5〜80重量%のミクロフィブリル化セルロースを含む、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 基材に適用される混合物の乾燥含量が1〜10重量%である、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1つのフィルムの層が、23℃、50%の相対湿度及び/又は38℃、90%の相対湿度で、ASTM D−3985により、0.1〜300cc/m2/24hの範囲の酸素透過率を有する、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 基材がポリマー又は金属基材である、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 乾燥後にフィルムを圧縮することをさらに含む、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の方法。
- フィルムの圧縮中に温度を100〜150℃に上昇させる、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 混合物が、デンプン、カルボキシメチルセルロース、填料、リテンションケミカルズ(retention chemicals)、フロキュレーション添加剤(flocculation additives)、デフロキュレーティング添加剤(deflocculating additives)、乾燥紙力増強剤、柔軟剤のいずれか1つ又はそれらの混合物をさらに含む、請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 第2の懸濁液中のミクロフィブリル化ジアルデヒドセルロースが25〜75%の酸化度を有する、請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載の方法。
- ミクロフィブリル化セルロースを含むフィルムであって、23℃で50%の相対湿度及び/又は38℃で90%の相対湿度で、ASTM D−3985により測定して0.1〜300cc/m2/24hの範囲の酸素透過率を有し、前記フィルムの少なくとも1つの層がミクロフィブリル化セルロース及びミクロフィブリル化ジアルデヒドセルロースの混合物を含む、フィルム。
- 50g/m2未満、好ましくは10〜50g/m2の基本重量を有する、請求項11に記載のフィルム。
- 複数の層を含む多層フィルムである、請求項11又は12に記載のフィルム。
- 多層フィルムであり、前記フィルムの少なくとも1つの層がポリエチレン(PE)、ポリプロピレン(PP)、ポリアミド、ポリエチレンテレフタラート(PET)又はエチレンビニルアルコール(EVOH)のいずれか1つを含む水蒸気バリアフィルムである、請求項11〜13のいずれかに記載のフィルム。
- 水蒸気バリアフィルムが、10〜60g/m2、好ましくは30〜50g/m2の坪量を有する、請求項14に記載のフィルム。
- 多層フィルムであり、前記フィルムの少なくとも1つの層が金属蒸着バリア層である、請求項11〜15のいずれかに記載のフィルム。
- 金属蒸着バリア層が物理蒸着金属又は金属酸化物層又は化学蒸着金属又は金属酸化物層である、請求項16に記載のフィルム。
- 金属又は金属酸化物が、アルミニウム、酸化アルミニウム、酸化マグネシウム、酸化ケイ素、銅、マグネシウム及びケイ素からなる群から選択される、請求項17に記載のフィルム。
- 金属蒸着バリア層が、50〜250mg/m2、好ましくは75〜150mg/m2の重量を有する、請求項16〜18のいずれかに記載のフィルム。
- 基本材料及び請求項11〜19のいずれかに記載の少なくとも1つのフィルムの層を含む、包装部材。
- 基本材料が紙又は板紙である、請求項20に記載の包装部材。
- 紙又は板紙が、20〜500g/m2の坪量を有する、請求項21に記載の包装部材。
- 紙又は板紙が、80〜400g/m2の坪量を有する、請求項21に記載の包装部材。
