Claims (20)
- 電気光学装置であって、
その対向面上に配置された第1表面と第2表面を有する第1の実質的に透明な基体であって、前記第2表面は第1導電層を含む、第1の実質的に透明な基体と、
その対向面上に配置された第3表面と第4表面を有する第2の実質的に透明な基体であって、前記第3表面は第2導電層を含む、第2の実質的に透明な基体と、
前記第1の実質的に透明な基体と第2の実質的に透明な基体との間に配置された一次シールであって、当該シール及び前記第1の実質的に透明な基体と前記第2の実質的に透明な基体とがその間に空洞を画定する、一次シールと、
前記第2導電層上で前記空洞内に配置された電気光学媒体であって、前記電気光学媒体は当該電気光学装置が実質的に透明な状態と暗い状態との間で動作可能であるように可変透過性である、電気光学媒体と、
前記第1導電層上で前記空洞内に配置される透明な光起電媒体であって、当該透明な光起電媒体が当該電気光学装置を暗い状態に変換して維持し、当該透明な光起電媒体が前記電気光学媒体上に追加的に配置される、透明な光起電媒体と、を備える、電気光学装置。 - 前記第1導電層及び前記第2導電層に電気的に結合されたコントローラ
をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の電気光学装置。 - 前記コントローラは、1または複数の入力及びエネルギ貯蔵装置に電気的に結合される、請求項1及び2のいずれかに記載の電気光学装置。
- 前記透明な光起電媒体が閾値光エネルギを吸収していない時に電荷を保存及び送達するように構成された外部電源
をさらに備える、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の電気光学装置。 - 前記透明な光起電媒体は、外部電源を電気的に充電するよう構成されている、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の電気光学装置。
- 前記透明な光起電媒体は、少なくとも45%の可視光透過を有する、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の電気光学装置。
- 当該電気光学装置は、ミラー、車両バックミラーアセンブリ、窓、表示装置、航空機透明装置からなる群から選択される、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の電気光学装置。
- 前記電気光学媒体と前記透明な光起電媒体との間に配置された第3導電層
をさらに備える、請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の電気光学装置。 - 1または複数の入力が、前記透明な光起電媒体または外部電源を通して前記電気光学装置に電圧を向けるように構成されたコントローラに情報を送信する、請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の電気光学装置。
- 電気光学装置であって、
その対向面上に配置された第1表面と第2表面を有する第1の実質的に透明な基体であって、前記第2表面は第1導電層を含む、第1の実質的に透明な基体と、
その対向面上に配置された第3表面と第4表面を有する第2の実質的に透明な基体であって、前記第3表面は第3導電層を含む、第2の実質的に透明な基体と、
前記第1の実質的に透明な基体と第2の実質的に透明な基体との間に配置された一次シールであって、当該シール及び前記第1の実質的に透明な基体と前記第2の実質的に透明な基体とがその間に空洞を画定する、一次シールと、
前記第2の実質的に透明な基体の第3表面上で前記空洞内に配置された電気光学媒体であって、前記電気光学媒体は当該電気光学装置が実質的に透明な状態と暗い状態との間で動作可能であるように可変透過性である、電気光学媒体と、
前記第1導電層上で前記空洞内に配置された透明な光起電媒体であって、当該透明な光起電媒体が当該電気光学装置を暗い状態に変換して維持する、透明な光起電媒体と、
前記電気光学媒体と前記透明な光起電媒体との間に配置された第2導電層と、を備える、電気光学装置。 - 前記第1導電層、前記第2導電層、及び、前記第3導電層に結合されたコントローラをさらに備え、
前記コントローラは、1または複数の入力及びエネルギ貯蔵装置に結合される、請求項10に記載の電気光学装置。 - 前記透明な光起電媒体が閾値光エネルギを吸収していない時に電荷を保存及び送達するように構成された外部電源
をさらに備える、請求項10または11に記載の電気光学装置。 - 1または複数の入力が、前記透明な光起電媒体または外部電源を通して前記電気光学装置に電圧を向けるように構成されたコントローラに情報を送信する、請求項10〜12のいずれかに記載の電気光学装置。
- 前記透明な光起電媒体は、外部電源を電気的に充電するよう構成されている、請求項10〜13のいずれかに記載の電気光学装置。
- 前記透明な光起電媒体は、少なくとも45%の可視光透過を有する、請求項10〜14のいずれかに記載の電気光学装置。

前記空洞内に配置される電気光学媒体であって、前記電気光学媒体は前記電気光学装置が実質的に透明な状態と暗い状態との間で動作可能であるように可変透過性である、電気光学媒体と、
第1導電層と前記第1の実質的に透明な基体の前記第2導電層との間に配置される透明な光起電媒体であって、前記透明な光起電媒体が当該電気光学装置を暗い状態に変換して維持する、透明な光起電媒体と、を備える、電気光学装置。 - 前記第1導電層、前記第2導電層、前記第3導電層及び前記第4導電層に連結されたコントローラをさらに備え、
前記コントローラは、1または複数の入力及びエネルギ貯蔵装置に結合される、請求項17に記載の電気光学装置。 - 前記透明な光起電媒体が閾値光エネルギを吸収していない時に電荷を保存及び送達するように構成された外部電源
