材料
MaTecK Material−Technologie&Kristalle GmbH(ドイツ)からの炭化チタン(TiC)、水酸化ナトリウム(NaOH)、塩酸、およびミリポア水(Millipore water)を使用した。全ての化学物質をさらに精製して使用した。
CドープTiO2−Bナノワイヤの調製は、多段階手順に従った。第1のステップでは、TiCを500℃で5時間(大気中で)完全酸化して、CドープTiO2を得た。その後、アルカリ溶液、すなわち10M NaOHの水熱経路下で、CドープTBナノワイヤを合成した。具体的には、0.2gのCドープTiO2を20mlの10M NaOH溶液中に連続的に撹拌しながら分散させた後、この溶液をテフロン(登録商標)ライニングのオートクレーブに移し、160℃で48時間反応させた。得られた生成物をミリポア水で遠心分離を通して3回洗浄し、続いて0.1M HCl溶液で3回洗浄し、ミリポア水で6回洗浄した。最後にエタノールで洗浄し、40℃で一晩真空乾燥した。得られた生成物を毎分2℃の加熱速度で300℃で120分間熱処理して、白色粉末、すなわちCTBナノワイヤを得た。
粉末X線回折パターンは、40kVおよび150mAで動作するCu Kα X線源を備えたRigaku SmartLab 9kW回折計で記録した。透過電子顕微鏡画像は、W熱電子源を備えた、100kVの加速電圧で動作するJEOL JEM 1011(Jeol、東京、日本)、および、200kVの加速電圧で動作する、ショットキー電界放出銃(FEG)を備えた、FEI TECNAI G2 F20装置を用いて得た。高分解能走査型電子顕微鏡画像は、15kVの加速電圧で動作するコールドFEGを備えたJEOL JSM 7500FA(Jeol、東京、日本)を用いて得た。ラマン分光測定は、50x対物レンズ(LEICA N PLAN EPI 50/0.75)を通して785nmのレーザ源を備えたVia Micro RamanのRenishawで行った。X線光電子分光法(XPS)分析は、単色Al Kα源(15kV、20mA)を使用して、Kratos Axis Ultra DLD分光器で行った。高分解能ナロースキャンは、10eVの一定のパスエネルギーおよび0.1eVステップで実施した。光電子は、表面法線に対して取り出し角θ=0°で検出した。分析チャンバ内の圧力は、データ収集のために7×10−9Torr未満に維持した。データをVAMASフォーマットに変換し、Casa XPSソフトウェア、バージョン2.3.16を使用して処理した。結合エネルギー(BE)スケールは、C1sピークを内部標準とした(C−CのBE=284.8eV)。
電気化学的2032コインセルを、0.1ppm未満のH2Oおよび0.1ppm未満のO2を含むMBraunのグローブボックス内で作製した。作用電極は、活性材料(CTBナノワイヤ、スーパーP炭素およびポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVDF))を70:20:10の重量比で混合し、銅集電体上にキャストし、次いで真空下120℃で一晩乾燥させることによって調製した。複合電極材料の質量は2.5〜3.0mgであった。リチウム金属を対電極および参照電極として使用し、電解液としてBASFから入手可能な1.0M LiPF6を含むエチレンカーボネート/ジメチルカーボネート(1:1v/v)を使用した。全ての電気化学的測定は、室温(約25℃)で、Biologic MPG−2マルチチャネル電池ユニットおよびPARSTAT 4000ポテンショスタット/ガルバノスタットを用いて行った。
炭素ドーピングからの寄与を検証し、結晶構造およびモルフォロジーを同定するために、走査型電子顕微鏡(SEM)、透過型電子顕微鏡(TEM)、X線回折(XRD)、X線光電子分光(XPS)およびラマン分光によってCTB−NWを調べた。同様に、中間合成生成物をXRDによって研究した。比較のために、未ドープのTBナノワイヤ(TB−NW)をTiO2粒子から調製した(補足情報(SI)参照)。最後に、CTB−NWおよびTB−NWの両方をLIBのアノード材料として試験した。結果は、容量、出力特性(rate capability)およびサイクル寿命の安定性に関して、CTB−NWはTB−NWよりも優位な特性を示す。実際、サイクル実験の間、CTB−NWは、電流レート0.1Cで約306mAhg−1(理論容量の91%)のリチウム貯蔵容量、および充放電1000サイクル後に電流レート10Cであっても約160mAhg−1の優れた放電容量を示した。
粒子のワイヤ状モルフォロジーは、高分解能SEMおよびTEMの両方から証明された(図1(b)および(c))。合成された全てのナノワイヤは、長さ2〜10μmであり、幅は20〜200nmの範囲である。さらに、凝集は観察されなかった。シングルナノワイヤの高分解能TEM画像(図1(d))は、TBの(110)面および(100)面にそれぞれ関連する0.35nmおよび0.58nmの面間距離を有する2組の明確な格子縞を示している。高速フーリエ変換(FFT、図1(d))および高分解能TEM画像の両方が、ワイヤがブロンズ相を有することを証明している。TiC(ステップ1)、CドープTiO2(ステップ2)およびCドープチタン酸ナトリウムナノワイヤのSEM画像は、SIの図S1a、S1bおよびS1cにそれぞれ報告されている。これらの画像は、ナノワイヤの形成はアルカリ性媒体中の水熱反応の間に起こり、プロトン交換およびか焼の影響を受けないことを示唆している。未ドープのTB−NWも合成し、そのSEM画像は図S2に示されている。
リチウムイオン電池のアノード材料としてのCTB−NWの特性を、電気化学的測定によって広範囲に評価した。CTB−NW電極およびTB−NW電極は、対電極および参照電極としてリチウム金属を使用し2032型コインセルで作製し組み立てた。セルの準備は、アルゴン雰囲気下(0.1PPM未満のO2およびH2O)のグローブボックス内で行った。エチレンカーボネート/ジメチルカーボネート(1:1 v/v)中に1M LiPF6を入れた標準溶液を電解質として使用した。サイクリックボルタンメトリ、電気化学的インピーダンス分光法および定電流充放電試験によって、セルを特徴付けた。CTB−NWおよびTB−NWに基づく電極は、図3(a)に示すように、1.0V〜2.5V vs Li+/Liの範囲でスキャンレート0.1mV s−1で試験した。CTB−NWおよびTB−NWの両方について、ボルタモグラムは、それぞれ〜1.57V、1.49Vおよび1.55V、1.62V vs Li+/Liの電位で2対のカソードおよびアノードのピークを示した。CTB−NWの電極は、TB−NWよりも高い電流密度を示し、それはそれらのより高いイオン伝導度および電子伝導度に関連していた。観察されたこれらのピークはTiO2ブロンズ相(TB)の特徴であり、S1およびS2表面吸着ピークとして文献でも知られている24。この文献において、Graetzelらは、S1およびS2のピークが、TiO2−Bの(100)面および(001)面におけるLiイオン移動に対する異なるエネルギー障壁によるものであること、および/またはLixTiO2−Bの2つの別個の超構造(super−structure)と関連している可能性があることを報告している。この知見は、ラマンスペクトル(図S4)および図2(a)のXRDパターンの両方とよく一致し、XRDパターンにおいてTB相が最初に同定された。CTB−NWおよびTB−NWの両方について約1.76Vおよび1.95V vs Li+/Liの電位での小さな可逆ピークが観察され、このピークは少量のアナターゼTiO2に関連していた。両方の電極材料のXRDパターンでアナターゼTiO2相がわずかに観察されたため(図2(a))、このことは予想された。重要なことに、サイクル時にピークの消失が観察された。
未ドープのTiO2ブロンズナノワイヤ(TB−NW)の合成
多段階手順によって、チタン−(iv)イソプロポキシドからTBのナノワイヤを合成した。特に、2.842gのチタン−(iv)イソプロポキシドを10mlの無水エタノールに添加した。さらに、上記溶液の攪拌中に上記溶液に脱イオン水を連続的に添加した。その結果、溶液は無色から乳白色に即座に変色し、二酸化チタンの形成を示した。2時間の連続撹拌後、遠心分離によって白色の粉末(TiO2)を得て、それを500℃で5時間アニールした(CTB−NWの合成、ステップ1の通り)。最後に、TBナノワイヤを水熱経路下のアルカリ溶液(NaOH)中で合成した。具体的には、0.2gのTiO2を、攪拌しながら10M NaOH溶液20ml中に分散させ、テフロン(登録商標)ライニングのオートクレーブに移し、160℃の温度に48時間置いた。得られた生成物をミリポア水で遠心分離を通して3回洗浄し、続いて0.1M HCl溶液で3回洗浄し、ミリポア水で6回洗浄し、さらにエタノールで洗浄した。最後に、40℃の真空下で一晩乾燥手順を実施した。得られた生成物を300℃で120分間、2℃/分の加熱速度で熱処理し、白色粉末すなわちTBナノワイヤを得た。図S2および図2(a)/図2(c)にそれぞれ示すように、走査型電子顕微鏡法、X線回折パターンおよびX線光電子分光法を用いてモルフォロジーおよび結晶構造を調査した。
異なる合成ステップにおける結晶構造の変化を、X線回折によって調べた。前述のように、CTB−NWの形成は、ミクロンサイズのCT(アナターゼおよびルチルの両方)へのTiCの完全な酸化、およびこれらの粒子のナノワイヤ構造への変態を伴っていた。これに関して、図S3は、TiC前駆体と、反応中間体CT、Cドープチタン酸ナトリウムナノワイヤ(C−Na2Ti9O19;Na−CTNW、ステップ2)、Cドープチタン酸水素ナノワイヤ(H2Ti8O17;H−CT NW、か焼を行う前のステップ3)、およびCTB−NWとのXRDパターンを示す。この図は、合成ステップ中のTiO2の異なる相転移を明らかに示している。このプロセスを具体的に説明すると、チタン酸ナトリウム(2θ約11°、ICDDカード番号078−1598)からチタン酸水素(2θ約9.8°、ICDDカード番号036−0656)への相変態である。重要なことに、NaとHはいずれもCTB−NWのXRDスペクトルには存在しない13,19。最後に、2θが14.10°のピーク(ICDDカード番号046−1237)はTB相を表し、従ってCTB−NWの結晶学的相が確認される。TiC前駆体についても同様の考察が有効であり、実際その特徴的なピークは、CT、チタン酸ナトリウム、チタン酸水素およびCTB−NW XRDスペクトルのいずれにおいても見出すことはできない。後者のパターンからは、非常に少量のアナターゼTiO2(図S3にアスタリスクで示す)も観察することができる。アナターゼの存在は、水熱プロセス前の前駆体の原料残留物から、またはか焼中のTiO2ブロンズ相の相変態から生じ得る。
図S4は、CTB−NWおよびTB−NWの両方のラマンスペクトルを示す。TBのプリミティブセル(プリミティブ単位胞)は、36ラマンアクティブモード(18Agおよび18Bg)を含むS1。これらの振動は、Ti−Ti、O−OおよびTi−Oの結合相互作用に起因するS2。この図は、TB相の162、170、196、248、294、412、466および645cm−1におけるCTB−NWおよびTB−NWの両方の非常に類似した固有振動モードを示しており、バルクまたはナノワイヤに関する以前の報告とよく一致するS3〜S7。
図S5は、C 1sバンドの約281.6eVにおけるTiCピーク、およびTi2pバンドの454.9eVおよび460.8eVのピーク(図中にアスタリスクで示す)が、CTおよびCTB−NWスペクトルの両方で完全に消失することを示す。これらのデータおよび図2(a)のXRDパターンに基づいて、TiCが熱アニールによって完全に酸化されてCTになる、と結論付けることができる。
TiO2−Bナノワイヤのバンドギャップに対する炭素ドーピングの影響を評価するために、紫外−可視吸収スペクトルを測定した。図S6に示すように、高波長領域側への吸収ピークの顕著なシフトが、未ドープのTB−NWと比較してCTB−NWについて観察された。TiO2格子への炭素ドーピングが成功すると、吸光度においてレッドシフトが生じることが知られているS8〜S10。CTB−NWおよびTB−NWのおおよそのバンドギャップは、それぞれ2.83および2.96eVとなる。これらの証拠は、TB−NWと比較して、高波長側での吸収ピークおよびCTB−NWのバンドギャップの狭小化を実際にもたらすCTB−NWの炭素ドーピングを証明する。

Claims (12)
- 炭素ドープ二酸化チタンブロンズナノ構造の製造プロセスであって、
炭化チタン粒子を酸化して炭素ドープ酸化チタン粒子を得るステップと、
前記炭素ドープ酸化チタン粒子を100℃〜250℃の温度でアルカリ媒体中で水熱反応させて、炭素ドープチタン酸アルカリ金属ナノ構造を得るステップと、
前記炭素ドープチタン酸アルカリ金属ナノ構造を希釈した強無機酸溶液で処理して炭素ドープチタン酸水素ナノ構造を得るステップと、
前記炭素ドープチタン酸水素ナノ構造を200℃〜400℃の温度でか焼して前記炭素ドープチタンブロンズナノ構造を得るステップと、
を含むプロセス。 - 前記炭化チタン粒子は、2〜20μmの体積相当球直径を有する、請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記アルカリ性溶液は5〜15mol/lのモル濃度を有する水酸化ナトリウム水溶液または水酸化カリウム水溶液である、請求項1または請求項2に記載のプロセス。
- 前記酸処理は、塩化水素、硫酸および硝酸から選択される酸溶液を用いて行われる、請求項1〜請求項3のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記ナノ構造は、ナノワイヤ、ナノファイバ、ナノロッド、ナノチューブおよびナノ粒子を含む群から選択される、請求項1〜請求項4のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記水熱反応は1〜100atmの圧力下で、好ましくは12〜166時間行われる、請求項1〜請求項5のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記水熱反応を温度160℃で48時間行い、炭素ドープチタン酸アルカリ金属ナノワイヤを得る、請求項6に記載のプロセス。
- 前記酸化ステップは、350℃〜700℃の温度で、酸素含有雰囲気中での熱処理によって行われる、請求項1〜請求項7のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
- 炭素ドープチタンブロンズナノ構造を含むアノードを有するリチウムイオン電池。
- 前記ナノ構造は、請求項1のプロセスによって得られたナノワイヤである、請求項9に記載のリチウムイオン電池。
- 炭素ドープチタンブロンズナノワイヤ。
- 請求項7に記載のプロセスによって得られる、請求項11に記載の炭素ドープチタンブロンズナノワイヤ。
