Abstract
Description
一対の電極、および

本発明のさらなるプロトタイプデバイスを、終夜試験に使用して、刺激した患者対コントロールの非刺激の患者におけるその効果を比較した。
本発明のさらなるプロトタイプデバイスを、使用者がボタン1およびボタン2の両方の組み合わせを押すことにより、デバイスのオン/オフの切り替えが可能とし、そしてボタン1を押してセッティングのサイクルを上げ、かつボタン2を押してセッティングのサイクルを下げることにより、6つのプレセット信号の繰り返しを可能とするボタンを用いて構築した。
Claims (33)
- いびきまたは睡眠時無呼吸の治療のための携帯可能な電池式装置であって:
一対の電極、および
該電極が患者に取り付けられる際に該患者の舌筋(オトガイ舌筋)を刺激するように、該電極間に電気信号を発生する電源
を備え、
該信号が1〜100Hzの周波数を有し、そして筋肉疲労なく連続的な治療を提供するように不連続である、装置。 - 前記信号が、前記治療が効果的でなくなるような患者の舌筋の疲労なく、該治療を提供するように不連続である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 4時間またはそれ以上の期間にわたって前記連続的な治療を提供する、請求項1または2に記載の装置。
- 前記信号が、20秒ごとに少なくとも0.5秒の無刺激期間を含む点で周期的かつ不連続である、前記いずれかの請求項に記載の装置。
- 前記信号が、10秒ごとに少なくとも0.5秒の無刺激期間を含む点で周期的かつ不連続である、前記いずれかの請求項に記載の装置。
- 前記信号が、10秒ごとに少なくとも1秒の無刺激期間を含む点で不連続である、前記いずれかの請求項に記載の装置。
- 前記信号が5〜60Hzの周波数を有する、前記いずれかの請求項に記載の装置。
- 前記信号が10〜50Hzの周波数を有する、前記いずれかの請求項に記載の装置。
- 前記信号が20mAまでの電流を有する、前記いずれかの請求項に記載の装置。
- 前記信号が1msまでの持続時間のパルスを含む、前記いずれかの請求項に記載の装置。
- 前記信号が50〜800マイクロ秒の持続時間のパルスを含む、前記いずれかの請求項に記載の装置。
- 顎または首の両側に1cmまたはそれ以上の間隔をあけて取り付けられる2つの電極を備える、前記いずれかの請求項に記載の装置。
- 前記患者による1つまたはそれ以上の信号パラメータ、例えば、信号周波数、信号電流、信号パルス幅、無刺激期間の持続時間、あるいはこのようなパラメータの2つまたはそれ以上または全て、の調節のための1つまたはそれ以上の制御器を備える、前記いずれかの請求項に記載の装置。
- 前記信号周波数が、3つまたはそれ以上の周波数の間で前記患者によって調節され得る、請求項13に記載の装置。
- 前記信号が、3つまたはそれ以上の電流セッティングの間で前記患者によって調節され得る、請求項13または14に記載の装置。
- いびきまたは睡眠時無呼吸の低減または予防のために患者の皮膚に適用される電極間に電気信号を発生する携帯可能な電池式装置であって:
該信号が1〜100Hzの周波数の電気刺激を含み;そして
該信号が20秒ごとに少なくとも0.5秒の無刺激期間を含む、携帯可能な電池式装置。 - 前記信号が5〜60Hzの周波数を有する、請求項16に記載の携帯可能な電池式装置。
- 前記信号が10〜50Hzの周波数を有する、請求項16に記載の携帯可能な電池式装置。
- 前記信号が、10秒ごとに少なくとも1秒の無刺激期間を含む、請求項16から18のいずれかに記載の携帯可能な電池式装置。
- 3時間またはそれ以上の期間の間、前記信号を発生し得る、請求項16から19のいずれかに記載の装置。
- 患者の皮膚への取り付けのための、終夜の装着に適した接着表面を有する2つの電極を備え、該電極が間隔をあけて該患者の顎または首の各側に取り付けられる、請求項16から20のいずれかに記載の装置。
- 電源により送達される信号が2つのフェーズを含み、その間、その強度が徐々に増加する第1のフェーズ、および、その間、該信号が本質的に同じ強度にある第2の後期フェーズである、前記いずれかの請求項に記載の装置。
- 前記第1のフェーズの持続時間が約5分〜約30分である、請求項22に記載の装置。
- 前記第1のフェーズの間、前記信号電流またはパルス幅が増大する、請求項22または23に記載の装置。
- いびきまたは睡眠時無呼吸の治療の方法であって:
患者の皮膚を介して該患者の舌筋を刺激する信号を送達する工程を含み、
該信号が1〜100Hzの周波数を有し、そして筋肉疲労なく連続的な治療を提供するように不連続である、方法。 - 前記信号が、前記治療が効果的でなくなるような患者の舌筋の疲労なく該治療を提供するように不連続である、請求項25に記載の方法。
- 3時間またはそれ以上の期間にわたって前記治療の信号を送達する工程を含む、請求項25または26に記載の方法。
- 前記信号が、20秒ごとに少なくとも0.5秒の無刺激期間を含む点で不連続である、請求項25から27のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記信号が5〜60Hzの周波数を有する、請求項25から28のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記信号が20mAまでの電流を有する、請求項25から29のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記信号が1msまでの持続時間のパルスを含む、請求項25から30のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記信号が請求項1から24のいずれかに記載の装置を用いて送達される、請求項25から31のいずれかに記載の方法。
