Abstract
Description
前記繊維強化材料が前記粘着点温度まで加熱された状態で、前記繊維強化材料が通過する湾曲を有するダイ(550)に前記繊維強化材料を供給して(1206)、当該ダイにより前記繊維強化材料をプリフォーム(250)に成形し、
前記プリフォームが前記ダイを通過する際、前記プリフォーム内の繊維(512)の経路長を相互に異ならせるようにし(1208)、
前記ダイから前記プリフォームを引き抜く(1212)、
ことを連続的に行ってプリフォームを作製する、方法。
前記ダイにおいて、前記ダイの入口(552)から前記ダイの出口(558)に内的に延びる湾曲通路(556)と、
前記ダイの内部において、前記入口の下流に設けられた冷却チャンバ(564)と、
前記冷却チャンバに対して配置されるとともに、前記入口と前記出口との間の位置で前記チャンバの伝熱を促進する複数の流路(568)と、を含む装置。
前記湾曲通路の上半分を規定する第1ピース(570)と、
前記湾曲通路の下半分を規定する第2ピース(560)と、
前記第1ピース及び前記第2ピースとは異なる曲率半径を有するピースと交換するために、前記第1ピースと前記第2ピースは、繊維強化材料に対して着脱可能である、付記B1に記載の装置。
前記ヌードル供給部から受け取る繊維強化材料の温度を上昇させるヒータ(530)と、
加熱された材料に湾曲を付与して前記プリフォームを形成するダイ(550)と、
前記ヌードルに張力を付与することにより、前記プリフォームを引っ張って前記ダイを通過させるヌードル張力付与装置(580、590)と、を含む装置。
前記スプールの下流に設けられるとともに、前記構成材料の粘着点温度まで前記繊維強化材料を加熱するヒータ(530)と、
前記ヒータの下流に設けられるとともに、所与の長さの前記繊維強化材料に付与される長さ方向の湾曲を有する通路(556)を有して、前記繊維強化材料をプリフォーム(250)に成形する引抜成形ダイ(550)と、
前記プリフォームを冷却する冷却チャンバ(564)と、
前記引抜成形ダイの下流に設けられるとともに、前記引抜成形ダイの断面形状に挟み部(584)を形成するローラ(580、590)と、を含むシステム。
前記ヒータは、150℃と200℃との間で前記テープを加熱する放射ヒータである、付記C1に記載のシステム。
前記プリフォームの前記側面に直接接触するとともに前記プリフォームの前記側面の形状に一致するローラを含む、付記C1に記載のシステム。
Claims (15)
- 繊維強化材料を、前記繊維強化材料内の構成材料の粘着点温度まで加熱し、
前記繊維強化材料が前記粘着点温度まで加熱された状態で、前記繊維強化材料が通過する湾曲を有するダイに前記繊維強化材料を供給して、前記繊維強化材料をプリフォームに成形し、
前記プリフォームが前記ダイを通過する際、前記プリフォーム内の繊維の経路長を相互に異ならせるようにし、
前記ダイから前記プリフォームを引き抜く、
ことを連続的に行ってプリフォームを作製する、方法。 - 前記ダイに前記繊維強化材料を供給することにより、前記繊維強化材料内において、前記繊維強化材料を強化する繊維間にスリップを生じさせる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- さらに、前記繊維強化材料が前記ダイを通過している間、前記プリフォームを前記粘着点温度よりも低い温度になるまで冷却することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記プリフォームを引き抜くことは、前記プリフォームをクランプして前記プリフォームを前記ダイから引き抜く駆動ローラの動作によって、前記プリフォームに張力を付与し続けることにより、前記繊維強化材料の長さに沿って張力を付与することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記繰出、加熱、供給、冷却、及び、引張は、異なる位置で同時に行われる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- さらに、コントローラを使用することを含み、前記コントローラは、前記プリフォームを監視するセンサからの入力に基づいて、張力が目標範囲外になるのを防ぐことにより、繰出、供給、及び、引張を調節する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ヌードルのプリフォームに成形するための繊維強化材料を供給するヌードル供給部と、
前記ヌードル供給部から受け取る繊維強化材料の温度を上昇させるヒータと、
加熱された材料に湾曲を付与して前記プリフォームを形成するダイと、
前記ヌードルに張力を付与することにより、前記プリフォームを引っ張って前記ダイを通過させるヌードル張力付与装置と、を含む装置。 - 前記ヌードル張力付与装置は、前記ヌードルに張力を付与する挟み部を形成する2つのローラを含む、請求項7に記載の装置。
- 前記ヌードル供給部は、前記繊維強化材料のスプールを含む、請求項7に記載の装置。
- 前記ダイは、前記繊維強化材料が引抜成形される際に通過する湾曲通路を含み、前記ダイの入口は、湾曲に沿って延在する、請求項7に記載の装置。
- 前記通路は、前記入口よりも小さい出口を有する、請求項10に記載の装置。
- 構成材料を含む繊維強化材料のロールを保持するための少なくとも1つのスプールと、
前記スプールの下流に設けられるとともに、前記構成材料の粘着点温度まで前記繊維強化材料を加熱するヒータと、
前記ヒータの下流に設けられるとともに、所与の長さの前記繊維強化材料に付与される長さ方向の湾曲を有する通路を有して、前記繊維強化材料をプリフォームに成形する引抜成形ダイと、
前記プリフォームを冷却する冷却チャンバと、
前記引抜成形ダイの下流に設けられるとともに、前記引抜成形ダイの断面形状に挟み部を形成するローラと、を含むシステム。 - 前記構成材料は、熱可塑性バインダを含み、
前記ヒータは、150℃と200℃との間で前記テープを加熱する放射ヒータである、請求項12に記載のシステム。 - 前記ダイは、前記湾曲の曲率半径を調節するために交換可能な着脱式ピースを含む、請求項12に記載のシステム。
- 前記ローラのうちの一方は、前記ローラの周面に沿って延びるらせん状溝を含み、前記らせん状溝は、前記プリフォームが前記ダイから出た後の前記プリフォームの断面と一致する、請求項12に記載のシステム。
