本発明は、金属マトリックスと金属マトリックス中に分散した炭素粒子とを含む金属−炭素粒子複合材の製造方法に関する。 The present invention relates to a method for producing a metal-carbon particle composite material including a metal matrix and carbon particles dispersed in the metal matrix.
なお本明細書及び特許請求の範囲では、「アルミニウム」の語は、特に明示する場合を除き純アルミニウム及びアルミニウム合金の双方を含む意味で用いられ、また「銅」の語は、特に明示する場合を除き純銅及び銅合金の双方を含む意味で用いられる。 In the present specification and claims, the term “aluminum” is used to include both pure aluminum and aluminum alloys, unless otherwise specified, and the term “copper” is to be specifically indicated. It is used in the meaning including both pure copper and copper alloys.
また本明細書及び特許請求の範囲では、鱗片状黒鉛粒子の厚さ方向に対して垂直な面及びその方向を、それぞれ鱗片状黒鉛粒子の平面及び平面方向と定義する。また、塗工箔の積層方向を複合材の厚さ方向と定義するとともに、複合材の厚さ方向に対して垂直な面及びその方向をそれぞれ複合材の平面及び平面方向と定義する。 In the present specification and claims, the plane perpendicular to the thickness direction of the scaly graphite particles and the direction thereof are defined as the plane and the plane direction of the scaly graphite particles, respectively. Further, the lamination direction of the coating foil is defined as the thickness direction of the composite material, and the plane perpendicular to the thickness direction of the composite material and its direction are defined as the plane and the plane direction of the composite material, respectively.
金属−炭素粒子複合材は、一般に高い熱伝導性又は低い線膨張性を有している。 The metal-carbon particle composite generally has high thermal conductivity or low linear expansion.
この複合材の製造方法として、溶融したアルミニウムに炭素粒子としての炭素繊維を添加して撹拌混合する方法(溶湯撹拌法)、空隙を有する炭素成形体内に溶融したアルミニウムを押し込む方法(溶湯鍛造法)、アルミニウム粉末と炭素粉末を混合して加圧加熱焼成する方法(粉末冶金法)、アルミニウム粉末と炭素粉末を混合して押出加工する方法(粉末押出法)などが知られている。 As a method for producing this composite material, a method of adding carbon fibers as carbon particles to molten aluminum and stirring and mixing (a molten metal stirring method), a method of pushing molten aluminum into a carbon molded body having voids (a molten metal forging method) There are known a method of mixing aluminum powder and carbon powder and baking under pressure (powder metallurgy method), a method of mixing aluminum powder and carbon powder and extruding (powder extrusion method), and the like.
しかしながら、これらの方法では、溶融したアルミニウム又はアルミニウム粉末を用いるので、製造作業が煩雑であるし、製造設備が大型化する。 However, in these methods, since molten aluminum or aluminum powder is used, the manufacturing operation is complicated and the manufacturing equipment is enlarged.
特許第5150905号公報(特許文献1)は、シート状又はフォイル状の金属支持体上に炭素粒子としての炭素繊維を含有する皮膜が形成されたプリフォームを形成し、これを複数積み重ねて積層体を形成し、積層体を加熱圧接することでプリフォーム同士を一体化させることにより、金属−炭素粒子複合材としての金属基炭素繊維複合材の製造方法を開示している。この方法では、得られる複合材において熱伝導率が高くなるのは炭素繊維が配列した一方向のみである。 Japanese Patent No. 5150905 (Patent Document 1) is a laminate in which a preform in which a film containing carbon fibers as carbon particles is formed is formed on a sheet-like or foil-like metal support, and a plurality of these are stacked. And a method for producing a metal-based carbon fiber composite material as a metal-carbon particle composite material by integrating the preforms by heat-pressing the laminate. In this method, the thermal conductivity of the obtained composite material is increased only in one direction in which the carbon fibers are arranged.
特許第4441768号公報(特許文献2)は、鱗状黒鉛粉末と所定の鱗状金属粉末との混合体を用いて焼結前駆体を形成し、焼結前駆体を加圧しながら焼結することにより、金属−炭素粒子複合材としての金属−黒鉛複合材の製造方法を開示している。この方法では、製造時において金属粉末の取り扱いが難しいし、製造コストが高いという問題がある。 Japanese Patent No. 4441768 (Patent Document 2) forms a sintered precursor using a mixture of scaly graphite powder and a predetermined scaly metal powder, and sinters the sintered precursor while applying pressure. A method for producing a metal-graphite composite as a metal-carbon particle composite is disclosed. This method has problems that it is difficult to handle the metal powder at the time of manufacture and that the manufacturing cost is high.
特開2006−1232号公報(特許文献3)は、結晶性カーボン材層と金属層とが積層され複合化された複合体をホットプレス焼結することにより、金属−炭素粒子複合材としての高熱伝導・低熱膨張複合材の製造方法を開示している。この方法では、複合体の焼結が難しく、そのため、接合が不十分で接合界面のずれが生じ易いと考えられる。 Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2006-1232 (Patent Document 3) discloses high heat as a metal-carbon particle composite material by hot-press sintering a composite in which a crystalline carbon material layer and a metal layer are laminated and combined. A method for producing a conductive / low thermal expansion composite is disclosed. In this method, it is difficult to sinter the composite, and therefore, it is considered that the joining is insufficient and the joining interface is likely to shift.
金属−炭素粒子複合材を開示したその他の文献として、特開2015−25158号公報(特許文献4)及び特開2015−217655号公報(特許文献5)がある。 As other documents disclosing metal-carbon particle composite materials, there are JP-A-2015-25158 (Patent Document 4) and JP-A-2015-217655 (Patent Document 5).
而して、SiC等を用いた次世代半導体チップは高温動作が可能である。そのようなチップを冷却する冷却器の材料は、冷却器の冷却性能を高めるために高い熱伝導性を有していることが望ましい。 Thus, the next generation semiconductor chip using SiC or the like can operate at a high temperature. It is desirable that the material of the cooler that cools such a chip has high thermal conductivity in order to enhance the cooling performance of the cooler.
本発明は、上述した技術背景に鑑みてなされたもので、その目的は、高い熱伝導性を有する金属−炭素粒子複合材の製造方法を提供することにある。 This invention is made | formed in view of the technical background mentioned above, The objective is to provide the manufacturing method of the metal-carbon particle composite material which has high heat conductivity.

本発明は以下の効果を奏する。 The present invention has the following effects.
前項[1]では、金属−炭素粒子複合材の製造方法は、塗工箔を得る工程、積層体を形成する工程及び接合一体化する工程を含むことにより、金属−炭素粒子複合材を安価に製造できる。 In the preceding item [1], the method for producing a metal-carbon particle composite material includes a step of obtaining a coating foil, a step of forming a laminate, and a step of joining and integrating, thereby reducing the cost of the metal-carbon particle composite material. Can be manufactured.
さらに、鱗片状黒鉛粒子の平均粒径が鱗片状黒鉛粒子の平面方向の円相当直径で100μm以上であることにより、鱗片状黒鉛粒子と金属マトリックスとの間の界面熱抵抗による熱伝導率の低下を抑制し得て複合材の熱伝導率を高めることができる。 Furthermore, when the average particle diameter of the flaky graphite particles is 100 μm or more in terms of the equivalent circle diameter in the plane direction of the flaky graphite particles, the thermal conductivity is lowered due to the interfacial thermal resistance between the flaky graphite particles and the metal matrix. And the thermal conductivity of the composite material can be increased.
さらに、塗工液を金属箔の塗工予定面に鱗片状黒鉛粒子の塗工量が0.1〜22g/m2になるように塗工することにより、複合材の熱伝導率を確実に高めることができるし、鱗片状黒鉛粒子同士が重ならないように塗工液を金属箔の塗工予定面に塗工することができ、そのため複数の塗工箔を良好に接合一体化することができる。 Furthermore, the thermal conductivity of the composite material is ensured by coating the coating liquid on the planned coating surface of the metal foil so that the coating amount of the scaly graphite particles is 0.1 to 22 g / m 2. The coating liquid can be applied to the planned coating surface of the metal foil so that the scaly graphite particles do not overlap with each other, so that a plurality of coating foils can be satisfactorily joined and integrated. it can.
前項[2]では、塗工液を三本ロール型のオフセット印刷装置により塗工することにより、鱗片状黒鉛粒子同士が重ならないように塗工液を金属箔の塗工予定面に容易に且つ確実に塗工することができる。そのため、複数の塗工箔を確実に良好に接合一体化することができる。 In the preceding item [2], by applying the coating liquid with a three-roll type offset printing apparatus, the coating liquid can be easily applied to the planned coating surface of the metal foil so that the scaly graphite particles do not overlap each other. Can be reliably applied. Therefore, a plurality of coated foils can be bonded and integrated reliably and reliably.
前項[3]では、グラビア印刷装置のグラビアロールのセルにおいて、セルの開口周縁に内接する円の直径が所定の範囲であることにより、鱗片状黒鉛粒子同士が重ならないように塗工液を金属箔の塗工予定面に確実に塗工することができる。そのため、複数の塗工箔を確実に良好に接合一体化することができる。 In the above item [3], in the gravure roll cell of the gravure printing apparatus, the coating liquid is made of metal so that the scaly graphite particles do not overlap each other because the diameter of the circle inscribed in the periphery of the opening of the cell is within a predetermined range. It can be reliably applied to the surface of the foil to be coated. Therefore, a plurality of coated foils can be bonded and integrated reliably and reliably.
前項[4]では、金属箔がアルミニウム箔又は銅箔であることにより、複合材の熱伝導率を確実に高めることができる。 In the preceding item [4], the metal foil is an aluminum foil or a copper foil, whereby the thermal conductivity of the composite material can be reliably increased.

As shown in FIG. 3, when the average particle size of the

The coating method for coating the
さらに、同図では、巻出しロール31と巻取りロール32との間に、三本ロール型のオフセット印刷装置20と乾燥装置としての乾燥炉35とが金属箔10の条材10Aの送り方向Fに並んで設置されている。
Furthermore, in the figure, between the unwinding
オフセット印刷装置20は、塗工液5を金属箔10の条材10Aの塗工予定面10aに塗工するものであり、三本ロールとして、インキロール21、転写ロール22及びバックアップロール23を備えており、更に、インキパンとしての塗工液パン25などを備えている。
The offset
インキロール21はその周面21aの周方向の一部が塗工液パン25内の塗工液5に漬けられた状態に配置されている。転写ロール22の周面22aは平滑に形成されている。転写ロール22の回転方向は金属箔10の条材10Aの送り方向Fと同じ方向に設定されている。バックアップロール23は転写ロール22と対向して配置されている。
The
オフセット印刷装置20では、パン25内の塗工液5は、インキロール21の回転によりインキロール21の周面21aから転写ロール22の周面22aに供給付着されたのち転写ロール22の回転により金属箔10の条材10Aの塗工予定面10aに転写塗工される。
In the offset
乾燥炉35は、オフセット印刷装置20に対して金属箔10の条材10Aの送り方向Fの下流側に設置されており、金属箔10の条材10Aの塗工予定面10aに塗工された塗工液5を加熱乾燥することで塗工液5中の溶剤3を塗工液5から蒸発除去するものである。
The drying
巻出しロール31から巻き出された金属箔10の条材10Aは、オフセット印刷装置20の転写ロール22とバックアップロール23との間と、乾燥炉35とを順次通過したのち巻取りロール32に巻き取られる。
The
塗工液5は、金属箔10の条材10Aが転写ロール22とバックアップロール23との間を通過する際に、転写ロール22によって金属箔10の条材10Aの塗工予定面10aにその幅方向の略全体に亘って塗工される。
When the
その後、塗工予定面10aに塗工された塗工液5は、乾燥炉35を通過することによって塗工液5から溶剤3が蒸発除去される。これにより、金属箔10の条材10Aの塗工予定面10aにその略全体に亘って鱗片状黒鉛粒子層11が形成され、すなわち塗工箔12の条材12Aが得られる。
Thereafter, the
In the coating method of the
As shown in these drawings, when the
また、塗工液5は、鱗片状黒鉛粒子1の塗工量が0.1〜22g/m2になるように塗工予定面10aに塗工されることが望ましい。その理由は次のとおりである。
Moreover, it is desirable that the
鱗片状黒鉛粒子1の塗工量が0.1g/m2未満の場合、鱗片状黒鉛粒子1による複合材60の熱伝導率を高める効果が小さい。
When the coating amount of the
When the coating amount of the
したがって、鱗片状黒鉛粒子1の塗工量が0.1〜22g/m2になるように塗工液5が塗工予定面10aに塗工されることにより、複合材60の熱伝導率を確実に高めることができるし、鱗片状黒鉛粒子1同士が重ならないように塗工液5を塗工予定面10aに確実に塗工することができ、そのため複数の塗工箔12を良好に接合一体化することができる。
Therefore, the
さらに、塗工液5の塗工が三本ロール型のオフセット印刷装置20により行われることにより、鱗片状黒鉛粒子1同士が重ならないように塗工液5を塗工予定面10aに容易に且つ確実に塗工することができる。その理由は次のとおりである。
Further, the application of the
That is, in the three-roll type offset
また、鱗片状黒鉛粒子1同士が重ならないように塗工液5を確実に塗工するには、塗工装置として、後述するグラビア印刷装置220を用いても良い。
In order to reliably apply the
On the other hand, inkjet, knife coater, die coater, spray coater, curtain coater and the like are known as other general coating apparatuses. In such a coating apparatus,
図7に示すように、積層体15を形成する工程S2では、巻取りロール32から巻き解られた塗工箔12の条材12Aを切断機39により所定形状に切断する。これにより、塗工箔12の条材12Aから所定形状(例:略四角形状)の塗工箔12を複数切り出す。
As shown in FIG. 7, in step S <b> 2 for forming the
次いで、図8に示すように複数の塗工箔12を積層することにより、複数の塗工箔12が積層された状態の積層体15を形成する。この積層体15はプリフォーム(焼結素材)として用いられるものである。
Next, as shown in FIG. 8, a plurality of coating foils 12 are laminated to form a
積層体15を形成するための塗工箔12の積層枚数は限定されるものではなく、所望する複合材60の厚さなどに対応して設定され、例えば10〜1000枚である。 The number of coating foils 12 for forming the laminate 15 is not limited, and is set according to the desired thickness of the composite material 60, for example, 10 to 1000.
接合一体化する工程S3では、積層体15を加圧加熱焼結装置などによって所定の焼結雰囲気(例:非酸化雰囲気)中にて加熱することにより焼結し、これにより複数の塗工箔12を一括して接合一体化(詳述すると焼結一体化)する。
In the step S3 of joining and integrating, the
積層体15の焼結方法は、真空ホットプレス法、放電プラズマ焼結法(SPS法)、熱間静水圧焼結法(HIP法)、押出法(図11〜13参照)、圧延法などから選択される。なお、放電プラズマ焼結法はパルス通電焼結法とも呼ばれている。
The sintering method of the
Specifically, as shown in FIG. 9, for example, the laminate 15 is disposed in a
積層体15への加圧は、例えば、焼結装置50に備えられた一対のパンチ52、52で積層体15をその厚さ方向に挟んで加圧することにより行われる。
The pressurization to the
The heating temperature of the
ここで、積層体15の焼結温度とは、複数の塗工箔12を接合一体化する温度(即ち複数の塗工箔12を焼結一体化する温度)を意味する。 Here, the sintering temperature of the laminate 15 means a temperature at which the plurality of coating foils 12 are joined and integrated (that is, a temperature at which the plurality of coating foils 12 are sintered and integrated).
積層体15中に存在するバインダ2は、この工程S3において積層体15の温度が略室温から積層体15の焼結温度まで上昇するように積層体15を加熱する途中で昇華又は分散等により消失して積層体15から除去される。
The
この工程S3では、積層体15が上述のように加熱されることにより、金属箔10の金属材料の一部が鱗片状黒鉛粒子層11内に浸透して鱗片状黒鉛粒子層11内に存在する微細な空隙(例:鱗片状黒鉛粒子層11中の鱗片状黒鉛粒子1間の隙間)に充填されて、当該空隙が略消滅する。これにより、複合材60の密度が上昇するとともに複合材60の強度が向上する。
In this step S <b> 3, the laminate 15 is heated as described above, whereby a part of the metal material of the
また、金属箔10の金属材料の一部が鱗片状黒鉛粒子層11内に浸透することによって、鱗片状黒鉛粒子層11中の鱗片状黒鉛粒子1は複合材60の金属マトリックス63中に複合材60の平面方向に分散した状態になり、すなわち図10に示すように鱗片状黒鉛粒子層11は複合材60の鱗片状黒鉛粒子分散層61になる。また、金属箔10は複合材60の金属層62になる。
Further, when a part of the metal material of the
したがって、複合材60においては、鱗片状黒鉛粒子分散層61と金属層62は、上述したように複合材30の厚さ方向の全体に亘って交互に積層された状態に配列する。 Therefore, in the composite material 60, the scaly graphite particle dispersion layers 61 and the metal layers 62 are arranged in a state of being alternately laminated over the entire thickness direction of the composite material 30 as described above.
図11〜13は、積層体を形成する工程S2と接合一体化する工程S3を、上記第1実施形態で示した方法とは異なる方法で行う場合について説明する図である。 11-13 is a figure explaining the case where process S3 which joins and integrates process S2 which forms a laminated body, and the method different from the method shown in the said 1st Embodiment are performed.
図11に示した積層体150を形成する工程S2では、巻取りロール32から巻き解かれた塗工箔12の条材12Aをロール状に複数回巻くことにより、複数の塗工箔12が積層された状態の積層体(ロール体)150を得る。この積層体150ではその半径方向が複数の塗工箔12の積層方向に相当する。
In step S2 of forming the laminate 150 shown in FIG. 11, the plurality of coating foils 12 are laminated by winding the
次いで、図12に示すように、積層体150を押出加工装置70に備えられたコンテナ71内に積層体150の軸方向が押出加工装置70の押出方向Eと平行になるように装填する。なお、積層体150をコンテナ71内に装填する前に、必要に応じて積層体150の外周面を金属製外装体(図示せず)で覆って良いし、積層体150の軸方向の端面を金属製蓋体(図示せず)で覆っても良い。
Next, as shown in FIG. 12, the laminate 150 is loaded into a
Next, as shown in FIG. 13, the
この複合材160では、複合材160内に存在する鱗片状黒鉛粒子1は複合材160の軸方向(即ち積層体150の押出方向E)に配向した状態に複合材160の金属マトリックス中に分散する。

図14に示した塗工箔12を得る工程S2では、塗工液5をロールtoロール方式のグラビア印刷装置220により金属箔10の条材10Aの塗工予定面10aに塗工する。
In step S2 of obtaining the
グラビア印刷装置220は、詳述するとダイレクトグラビア印刷装置であり、巻出しロール(図2参照、31)と巻取りロール(図2参照、32)との間に設置されている。
The
グラビア印刷装置220は、グラビアロール221及びバックアップロール223を備えており、更に、インキパンとしての塗工液パン225、ドクターブレード227などを備えている。
The
グラビアロール221はグラビア版面としての周面221aを有している。周面221aにはその略全体に亘って多数のカップ状セル(凹部)222が整然と配列して設けられている(図15A、16A、17A、18A参照)。隣り合うセル222、222間には隔壁部221bが形成されており、隔壁部221bによって各セル222が仕切られている。
The
グラビアロール221はその周面221aの周方向の一部が塗工液パン225内の塗工液5に漬けられた状態に配置されている。グラビアロール221の回転方向は金属箔10の条材10Aの送り方向Fと同じ方向に設定されている。バックアップロール223はグラビアロール221に対向して配置されている。
The
By rotating the
その後、塗工液5が乾燥装置(図2参照、35)により乾燥される。これにより、金属箔10の条材10Aの塗工予定面10aに鱗片状黒鉛粒子層11が形成された塗工箔12の条材12Aが得られる。そして、塗工箔12の条材12Aが巻取りロール(図2参照、32)に巻き取られる。
Thereafter, the
グラビアロール221において、セル222の形状は上述したようにカップ状であり、特に、セル222の周囲が全周に亘って略閉鎖された形状であることが望ましい。
In the
具体的には、セル222の形状は、格子型(図15A及び15Bを見よ)、ピラミッド型(図16A及び16Bを見よ)、亀甲型(図17A及び17Bを見よ)及び円型(図18A及び18Bを見よ)からなる群より選択される一つであることが望ましい。

Further, the shape of the
さらに、セル222は、セル222の周囲が全周に亘って完全に閉鎖された形状のものであることが望ましいが、これに限定されるものではなく、その他に例えば、セル222の内周側面222aの一部にセル222内の塗工液5の一部が隣りのセル222内へ流れうるようにするための小さな連絡口(図示せず)が形成された形状のものであっても良い。
Further, the
グラビアロール221では、セル222のサイズはメッシュ数で規定されるのが通常である。メッシュ数は1inch(25.4mm)当たりの線数(セル222の間隔)を表しており、メッシュ数が多くなるほどセル222のサイズは小さくなる。
In the
Regarding the size of the
なお、図15A、16A及び17Aではセル222の開口周縁222dに内接する円Cは二点鎖線で示されており、図18Aではセル222の開口周縁222dに内接する円Cはセル222の開口周縁222dと一致している。また、図19〜21Bではバインダ2は図示省略されている。

図19に示すように、D/d<1.2の場合、セル222内に鱗片状黒鉛粒子1が殆ど入らず、そのため、鱗片状黒鉛粒子1の大部分がドクターブレード227により掻き取られてしまう。
As shown in FIG. 19, when D / d <1.2, almost no
図21A及び21Bに示すように、2.5<D/dの場合、セル222内に入る鱗片状黒鉛粒子1の数が多すぎてしまい、そのため、鱗片状黒鉛粒子1同士が重なるように塗工液5が金属箔10の条材10Aの塗工予定面10aに塗工されてしまう。
As shown in FIGS. 21A and 21B, when 2.5 <D / d, the number of
図20A及び20Bに示すように、1.2≦D/d≦2.5の場合、セル222内に入る鱗片状黒鉛粒子1の数が適量であり、そのため、鱗片状黒鉛粒子1同士が重ならないように塗工液5を金属箔10の条材10Aの塗工予定面10aに塗工することができる。
As shown in FIGS. 20A and 20B, when 1.2 ≦ D / d ≦ 2.5, the number of

次に本発明の具体的な実施例及び比較例を以下に示す。ただし、本発明は下記実施例に限定されるものではない。 Next, specific examples and comparative examples of the present invention are shown below. However, the present invention is not limited to the following examples.
<実施例1>
<Example 1>
A scaly graphite particle, a 3% by weight aqueous solution of polyethylene oxide as a resin binder and a 10% by weight aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol and water as a solvent, a dispersant, and a surface conditioner are stirred and mixed with a disper. Thus, a coating solution was obtained. The average particle diameter d of the scaly graphite particles was 150 μm, and the average aspect ratio was 30. The mass ratio of the scaly graphite particles contained in the coating liquid was 10% by mass with respect to the total mass of the resin binder and the scaly graphite particles. The viscosity of the coating solution was 1000 mPa · s at 25 ° C.
また、金属箔として、厚さ20μm及び幅500mmのアルミニウム箔(Al箔)の条材(その純度:4N)を準備した。 In addition, a strip of aluminum foil (Al foil) having a thickness of 20 μm and a width of 500 mm (its purity: 4N) was prepared as a metal foil.
そして、アルミニウム箔の条材の厚さ方向の両側の表面のうち片側の表面を塗工予定面とし、ロールtoロール方式の三本ロール型のオフセット印刷装置により塗工液をアルミニウム箔の条材の塗工予定面にその全体に亘って塗工速度20m/minで塗工した。 The surface of one side of the both sides in the thickness direction of the strip of aluminum foil is the surface to be coated, and the coating liquid is stripped of the aluminum foil by a roll-to-roll three-roll type offset printing device. The coating was performed at a coating speed of 20 m / min over the entire surface to be coated.
次いで、アルミニウム箔の条材を乾燥炉内に通過させることにより塗工液を加熱乾燥して塗工液中の溶剤を塗工液から蒸発除去した。これにより、アルミニウム箔の条材の塗工予定面に鱗片状黒鉛粒子層が形成された塗工箔の条材を得た。鱗片状黒鉛粒子の塗工量は10g/m2であった。 Next, the coating material was heated and dried by passing the strip of aluminum foil into a drying furnace, and the solvent in the coating solution was removed by evaporation from the coating solution. As a result, a strip of coated foil in which a scaly graphite particle layer was formed on the planned coating surface of the strip of aluminum foil was obtained. The coating amount of the scaly graphite particles was 10 g / m 2 .
次いで、塗工箔の条材を正方形状(その寸法:縦50mm×横50mm)に切断し、これにより塗工箔の条材から正方形状の塗工箔を複数切り出した。そして、200枚の塗工箔を積層することで積層体を形成した。 Subsequently, the strip of the coating foil was cut into a square shape (its dimensions: 50 mm long × 50 mm wide), whereby a plurality of square coated foils were cut out from the strip of the coating foil. And the laminated body was formed by laminating | stacking 200 coating foil.
次いで、加圧加熱焼結装置としての放電プラズマ焼結装置(SPS装置)により真空雰囲気中にて積層体をその厚さ方向(即ち塗工箔の積層方向)に加圧しながら所定の焼結条件で加熱することにより積層体を焼結し、これにより複数の塗工箔を一括して接合一体化(焼結一体化)した。その結果、金属−炭素粒子複合材として、アルミニウム−鱗片状黒鉛粒子複合材を得た。得られた複合材の厚さは5mmであった。 Next, predetermined sintering conditions are performed while the laminate is pressed in the thickness direction (that is, the coating foil laminating direction) in a vacuum atmosphere by a discharge plasma sintering apparatus (SPS apparatus) as a pressure heating sintering apparatus. The laminated body was sintered by heating at a temperature, whereby a plurality of coated foils were joined and integrated (sintered integrated) at once. As a result, an aluminum-flaky graphite particle composite material was obtained as the metal-carbon particle composite material. The thickness of the obtained composite material was 5 mm.
焼結条件は次のとおりであった。焼結温度は620℃、焼結温度の保持時間(即ち焼結時間)は2h、室温からの昇温速度は20℃/min、積層体への加圧力は15MPa、真空度は3Paであった。 The sintering conditions were as follows. The sintering temperature was 620 ° C., the sintering temperature holding time (ie, sintering time) was 2 h, the temperature rising rate from room temperature was 20 ° C./min, the pressure applied to the laminate was 15 MPa, and the degree of vacuum was 3 Pa. .
また、積層体の温度が略室温から焼結温度まで上昇するように積層体を加熱する途中において積層体の温度が450℃になったとき、この温度450℃を30分間保持することにより積層体中に存在するバインダを積層体から除去した。 Further, when the temperature of the laminated body reaches 450 ° C. in the course of heating the laminated body so that the temperature of the laminated body rises from about room temperature to the sintering temperature, the laminated body is maintained by maintaining this temperature at 450 ° C. for 30 minutes. The binder present therein was removed from the laminate.
In the obtained composite material, aluminum sufficiently permeates into each flaky graphite particle layer, so that the gaps between the flaky graphite particles in each flaky graphite particle layer have almost disappeared, There were almost no gaps at the interface between the foils. Therefore, the bonding state of the composite material (more specifically, the bonding state of the plurality of coated foils) was good, and the density of the composite material was 99% of the theoretical density of the composite material. The theoretical density of the composite material means the density of the composite material when no voids (including gaps) are present inside the composite material.
複合材の平面方向の熱伝導率は310W/(m・K)であり、アルミニウムの熱伝導率よりも高かった。 The thermal conductivity in the plane direction of the composite material was 310 W / (m · K), which was higher than the thermal conductivity of aluminum.
また、複合材をパワーモジュール用冷却器の配線層、緩衝層及び冷却層の材料としてそれぞれ使用したところ、冷却器は高い冷却性能を有していた。 Further, when the composite material was used as a material for the wiring layer, buffer layer, and cooling layer of the power module cooler, the cooler had high cooling performance.

そして、アルミニウム箔の条材の厚さ方向の両側の表面のうち片側の表面を塗工予定面とし、ロールtoロール方式のグラビア印刷装置によって塗工液をアルミニウム箔の条材の塗工予定面にその全体に亘って塗工速度20m/minで塗工した。 And the surface of one side among the surfaces on both sides in the thickness direction of the strip material of the aluminum foil is set as the coating surface, and the coating liquid is coated with the coating solution by the roll-to-roll gravure printing device. The coating was carried out at a coating speed of 20 m / min over the whole.
グラビア印刷装置の構成は次のとおりであった。グラビア印刷装置に備えられたグラビアロールの周面のメッシュ数は♯80、セルの形状は亀甲型、セルの開口周縁に内接する円の直径Dは300μmであった。したがって、D/dは2であった。 The configuration of the gravure printing apparatus was as follows. The number of meshes on the peripheral surface of the gravure roll provided in the gravure printing apparatus was # 80, the shape of the cell was a tortoiseshell type, and the diameter D of the circle inscribed in the periphery of the opening of the cell was 300 μm. Therefore, D / d was 2.
次いで、アルミニウム箔の条材の塗工予定面に塗工された塗工液を上記実施例1と同じ方法により加熱乾燥して塗工液中の溶剤を塗工液から蒸発除去した。これにより、アルミニウム箔の条材の塗工予定面に鱗片状黒鉛粒子層が形成された塗工箔の条材を得た。鱗片状黒鉛粒子の塗工量は10g/m2であった。 Subsequently, the coating liquid coated on the planned coating surface of the aluminum foil strip was heated and dried by the same method as in Example 1 to evaporate and remove the solvent in the coating liquid from the coating liquid. As a result, a strip of coated foil in which a scaly graphite particle layer was formed on the planned coating surface of the strip of aluminum foil was obtained. The coating amount of the scaly graphite particles was 10 g / m 2 .

<Example 3>
A coating solution was obtained by the same method as in Example 1 above, using scaly graphite particles having an average particle diameter d of 300 μm and an average aspect ratio of 30.
また、上記実施例1で用いたアルミニウム箔の条材と同じアルミニウム箔(Al箔)の条材を準備した。 In addition, the same aluminum foil (Al foil) strip as the aluminum foil strip used in Example 1 was prepared.
そして、アルミニウム箔の条材の厚さ方向の両側の表面のうち片側の表面を塗工予定面とし、ロールtoロール方式のグラビア印刷装置によって塗工液をアルミニウム箔の条材の塗工予定面にその全体に亘って上記実施例2と同じ塗工速度で塗工した。 And the surface of one side among the surfaces on both sides in the thickness direction of the strip material of the aluminum foil is set as the coating surface, and the coating liquid is coated with the coating solution by the roll-to-roll gravure printing device. The coating was performed at the same coating speed as in Example 2 over the whole.
グラビア印刷装置の構成は次のとおりであった。グラビア印刷装置に備えられたグラビアロールの周面のメッシュ数は♯40、セルの形状は亀甲型、セルの開口周縁に内接する円の直径Dは600μmであった。したがって、D/dは2であった。 The configuration of the gravure printing apparatus was as follows. The number of meshes on the peripheral surface of the gravure roll provided in the gravure printing apparatus was # 40, the shape of the cell was a turtle shell, and the diameter D of the circle inscribed in the periphery of the opening of the cell was 600 μm.
次いで、塗工箔の条材を用いて上記実施例1と同じ方法により複合材を得た。 Next, a composite material was obtained by the same method as in Example 1 above using a strip of coated foil.
得られた複合材の接合状態は良好であり、また複合材の密度は複合材の理論密度の99%であった。 The joined state of the obtained composite material was good, and the density of the composite material was 99% of the theoretical density of the composite material.
複合材の平面方向の熱伝導率は340W/(m・K)であり、アルミニウムの熱伝導率よりも高かった。 The thermal conductivity in the plane direction of the composite material was 340 W / (m · K), which was higher than the thermal conductivity of aluminum.
<実施例4>
平均粒径dが150μm及び平均アスペクト比が30の鱗片状黒鉛粒子を用いて、上記実施例1と同じ方法により塗工液を得た。
<Example 4>
Using a scaly graphite particle having an average particle diameter d of 150 μm and an average aspect ratio of 30, a coating solution was obtained by the same method as in Example 1 above.
また、金属箔として、厚さ20μm及び幅500mmの銅箔(Cu箔)の条材(その純度:99.95%以上)を準備した。 Further, a strip of copper foil (Cu foil) having a thickness of 20 μm and a width of 500 mm (its purity: 99.95% or more) was prepared as a metal foil.
そして、銅箔の条材の厚さ方向の両側の表面のうち片側の表面を塗工予定面とし、ロールtoロール方式の三本ロール型のオフセット印刷装置によって塗工液を銅箔の条材の塗工予定面にその全体に亘って上記実施例1と同じ塗工条件で塗工した。 And the surface of one side of the surfaces on both sides in the thickness direction of the strip of copper foil is the surface to be coated, and the coating liquid is stripped of the copper foil by a roll-to-roll type three-roll type offset printing apparatus. The coated surface was coated under the same coating conditions as in Example 1 over the entire surface.
次いで、銅箔の条材の塗工予定面に塗工された塗工液を上記実施例1と同じ方法により加熱乾燥して塗工液中の溶剤を蒸発除去した。これにより、銅箔の条材の塗工予定面に鱗片状黒鉛粒子層が形成された塗工箔の条材を得た。鱗片状黒鉛粒子の塗工量は10g/m2であった。 Subsequently, the coating liquid coated on the planned coating surface of the copper foil strip was heated and dried by the same method as in Example 1 to evaporate and remove the solvent in the coating liquid. Thereby, the strip of the coating foil in which the scaly graphite particle layer was formed on the planned coating surface of the strip of copper foil was obtained. The coating amount of the scaly graphite particles was 10 g / m 2 .
次いで、塗工箔の条材を用いて次の焼結条件を除き上記実施例1と同じ法により金属−炭素粒子複合材としての銅−鱗片状黒鉛粒子複合材を得た。 Next, a copper-flaky graphite particle composite material as a metal-carbon particle composite material was obtained by the same method as in Example 1 above, except for the following sintering conditions, using a strip of coated foil.
焼結条件は次のとおりであった。焼結温度は950℃、焼結温度の保持時間(即ち焼結時間)は2h、室温からの昇温速度は20℃/min、積層体への加圧力は15MPa、真空度は3Paであった。 The sintering conditions were as follows. The sintering temperature was 950 ° C., the holding time of the sintering temperature (that is, the sintering time) was 2 h, the temperature rising rate from room temperature was 20 ° C./min, the pressure applied to the laminate was 15 MPa, and the degree of vacuum was 3 Pa. .
得られた複合材の接合状態は良好であり、また複合材の密度は複合材の理論密度の99%であった。 The joined state of the obtained composite material was good, and the density of the composite material was 99% of the theoretical density of the composite material.
複合材の平面方向の熱伝導率は450W/(m・K)であり、銅の熱伝導率よりも高かった。 The thermal conductivity in the planar direction of the composite material was 450 W / (m · K), which was higher than the thermal conductivity of copper.
<比較例1>
平均粒径dが150μm及び平均アスペクト比が30の鱗片状黒鉛粒子を用いて、上記実施例1と同じ方法により塗工液を得た。
<Comparative Example 1>
Using a scaly graphite particle having an average particle diameter d of 150 μm and an average aspect ratio of 30, a coating solution was obtained by the same method as in Example 1 above.
グラビア印刷装置の構成は次のとおりであった。グラビア印刷装置に備えられたグラビアロールの周面のメッシュ数は♯55、セルの形状は亀甲型、セルの開口周縁に内接する円の直径Dは450μmであった。したがって、D/dは3であった。 The configuration of the gravure printing apparatus was as follows. The number of meshes on the peripheral surface of the gravure roll provided in the gravure printing apparatus was # 55, the shape of the cell was a tortoiseshell type, and the diameter D of the circle inscribed in the periphery of the opening of the cell was 450 μm. Therefore, D / d was 3.
Subsequently, the coating liquid coated on the planned coating surface of the aluminum foil strip was heated and dried by the same method as in Example 1 to evaporate and remove the solvent in the coating liquid from the coating liquid. As a result, a strip of coated foil in which a scaly graphite particle layer was formed on the planned coating surface of the strip of aluminum foil was obtained. The coating amount of the scaly graphite particles was 25 g / m 2 . Moreover, in the strip of the coating foil, the scaly graphite particle layer was formed on the planned coating surface in a state where the scaly graphite particles overlap each other.
次いで、塗工箔の条材を用いて上記実施例1と同じ方法により複合材を得た。 Next, a composite material was obtained by the same method as in Example 1 above using a strip of coated foil.
得られた複合材では、各鱗片黒鉛粒子層中の鱗片状黒鉛粒子間の隙間はあまり消滅しておらず、更に、塗工箔間の界面に隙間が存在していた。したがって、複合材の接合状態は不良であった。そのため、複合材から複合材の熱伝導率を測定するための試料を採取することができず、複合材の熱伝導率を測定できなかった。 In the obtained composite material, the gaps between the flaky graphite particles in each scale graphite particle layer did not disappear so much, and there were gaps at the interface between the coating foils. Therefore, the bonding state of the composite material was poor. Therefore, a sample for measuring the thermal conductivity of the composite material could not be collected from the composite material, and the thermal conductivity of the composite material could not be measured.
<比較例2>
平均粒径dが150μm及び平均アスペクト比が30の鱗片状黒鉛粒子を用いて、上記実施例1と同じ方法により塗工液を得た。
<Comparative example 2>
Using a scaly graphite particle having an average particle diameter d of 150 μm and an average aspect ratio of 30, a coating solution was obtained by the same method as in Example 1 above.
The configuration of the gravure printing apparatus was as follows. The number of meshes on the peripheral surface of the gravure roll provided in the gravure printing apparatus was # 180, the shape of the cell was a tortoiseshell type, and the diameter D of the circle inscribed in the periphery of the opening of the cell was 130 μm. Therefore, D / d was about 0.9. Therefore, scaly graphite particles did not enter the cell, and almost all scaly graphite particles were scraped off by a doctor blade. Therefore, the scaly graphite particle layer could not be formed on the planned coating surface of the strip of aluminum foil.
<比較例3>
平均粒径dが50μm及び平均アスペクト比が30の鱗片状黒鉛粒子を用いて、上記実施例1と同じ方法により塗工液を得た。
<Comparative Example 3>
A coating solution was obtained by the same method as in Example 1 above, using scaly graphite particles having an average particle diameter d of 50 μm and an average aspect ratio of 30.
また、上記実施例1で用いたアルミニウム箔(Al箔)の条材と同じアルミニウム箔の条材を準備した。 In addition, the same aluminum foil strip as the aluminum foil (Al foil) used in Example 1 was prepared.
そして、アルミニウム箔の条材の厚さ方向の両側の表面のうち片側の表面を塗工予定面とし、ロールtoロール方式の三本ロール型のオフセット印刷装置によって塗工液をアルミニウム箔の条材の塗工予定面にその全体に亘って上記実施例1と同じ塗工条件で塗工した。 The surface of one side of the surfaces in the thickness direction of the strip of aluminum foil is the surface to be coated, and the coating liquid is stripped of the aluminum foil by a roll-to-roll three-roll type offset printing device. The coated surface was coated under the same coating conditions as in Example 1 over the entire surface.
しかしながら、複合材の平面方向の熱伝導率は180W/(m・K)であり、アルミニウムの熱伝導率よりも低かった。その原因は、鱗片状黒鉛粒子の平均粒径dが小さいため、鱗片状黒鉛粒子と金属マトリックスとの間の界面熱抵抗による熱伝導率の低下が大きいからであると考えられる。 However, the thermal conductivity in the planar direction of the composite material was 180 W / (m · K), which was lower than the thermal conductivity of aluminum. This is probably because the average particle diameter d of the scaly graphite particles is small, and the decrease in thermal conductivity due to the interfacial thermal resistance between the scaly graphite particles and the metal matrix is large.
以上の結果を表1にまとめて示す。 The above results are summarized in Table 1.
