Abstract
Description
Embodiments described herein relate generally to a discharge lamp, a vehicular lamp, and a vehicular illumination device.
There is a discharge lamp provided with a light emitting part having a discharge space in which a discharge medium is enclosed, and a pair of electrodes protruding inside the discharge space and arranged to face each other at a predetermined distance.
Here, in general, a headlight of an automobile is provided with a light source for a low beam (passing beam) and a light source for a high beam (traveling beam), and switches between a low beam and a high beam as necessary. . For example, a discharge lamp is used as the light source for the low beam, and another discharge lamp or another type of lamp is used as the light source for the high beam.
Low beam and high beam are necessary for driving an automobile. However, since two light sources are required, the manufacturing cost of the headlamp is increased, and the size and design of the headlamp are limited.
Therefore, it is preferable that one discharge lamp can cope with both the low beam and the high beam. In view of this, a discharge lamp has been proposed in which the light emitting unit is moved in a predetermined direction so that both the low beam and the high beam can be handled. There has also been proposed a discharge lamp provided with a magnetic field generating means for applying a magnetic field including a magnetic force line component.
However, in such a case, the configuration of the discharge lamp becomes complicated.
Therefore, it has been desired to develop a discharge lamp capable of handling a low beam and a high beam with a simple configuration.

7.2(atm/mm)≦P/t(atm/mm)≦10.0(atm/mm)

The
The
As shown in FIG. 3, the
A DC power source DS such as a battery and a switch SW are electrically connected to the input side of the
The
The
The
