基部1としては、繊維強化セメント板(フレキシブルボード、ケイ酸カルシウム板、スラグ石膏ボード等)の窯業系基材が適している。まず基材補強及びアルカリ止めの観点から湿気硬化型イソシアネート樹脂、エポキシ樹脂等を表面シーラーとして塗装する。シーラー剤としては有機系のウレタン樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、アクリル樹脂、無機系プライマー等があるが不燃性を確保し火災時に煙を発生させないように不燃性を重視する場合は無機系シーラーが適している。目止め用シートとしては本発明のインクジェット印刷に適した東京カラーグラビヤ工業(株)製PEPIJP1シートが最適である。シーラーで強化された繊維強化セメント板の表面に例えばPURHM(商品名MR55Pメーカー名ヘンケル株式会社)系の接着剤を110g±10g/m2塗布して東京カラーグラビヤ工業(株)製PEPIJP1を目止めシートとして貼り合わせる。本目止めシートは基材であるケイ酸カルシウム板の表面の巣穴を隠し木目模様の導管孔を形成しインクジェット印刷のインク受理層の機能を持ち白印刷されているのでインクジェット白印刷の白ベタを省略できる。従ってインキ量が少なくて済み高価なインクジェット印刷のインキ使用量を減じてコストダウンでき深さ最大約30μmの深さで形成される導管孔を埋め込むことは少なくなり微細な導管孔を立体的に表現する。白ベタ印刷をしない分膜厚が薄くて不燃性試験に対しても有利となる。インクジェットプリンターはUV硬化型が最適で例えばミマキエンジニアリング(株)のJFX200−2513が1例である。着弾したインキ粒が直ちに硬化するのでインキの凹部への流れ込みは極めて少ない。前記のインクジェットプリンターでハイスピード印刷した時インクジェットプリンターによるインキの膜厚は最大10μmの厚さであった。透明カバー層として3部艶のアクリルウレタンクリヤーをエアースプレーで30g±3g/m2塗布して100℃で3分間乾燥する。図1に示される微細な凹部を有する導管孔とそれにマッチした木目が描かれた天然木にきわめて近い表情を持つ不燃性の木目調化粧板を得た。

こうして実際に凹部を有する導管孔のある天然木調化粧繊維強化セメント板を得た。これらはオーク柄の突き板と同等の意匠性を有するものであった。
