Description

The present invention relates to a method for preventing “fogging at the end”, which is an important issue for improving the printing quality of flexographic printing. Edge blurring is a phenomenon in which linear blurring occurs due to poor transfer of ink at a solid portion at a rear end portion orthogonal to the printing direction (slightly solid side from the boundary with the non-image portion).

Until now, solvent-type flexographic ink and solvent-type gravure ink have been mainly used for package printing. However, environmental changes on a global scale such as the expansion of the ozone hole and global warming have become remarkable, and the momentum for environmental protection has been increasing. The expansion of health damage due to air pollution and the removal of petroleum from the viewpoint of sustainability As a result, the regulations on the use of organic solvents may become more stringent. On the other hand, the consumption of film packages has been increasing globally due to population growth and rising income levels, and the production of packaging inks has been increasing year by year accordingly. In recent years, development and improvement of water-based inks, in particular water-based flexo inks, in which the organic solvent in the ink is replaced with water have been actively performed due to such changes in environmental awareness.
Furthermore, the material of the flexographic plate, the plate making technology, and the technology related to the printing machine have been greatly improved, and high-definition and high-density printing comparable to gravure printing and offset printing has become possible.

Therefore, as water-based flexographic ink spreads into the packaging field and is used for high-definition and high-density printing, troubles that have not been a problem so far have become obvious, one of which is called "edge blurring" It is a phenomenon.
`` Edge fading '' is a phenomenon that is seen on the solid part side slightly beyond the boundary with the non-image part at the rear end part perpendicular to the printing direction in the solid part, and is a linear blur due to ink transfer failure Therefore, it is an important issue to improve the blurring of the edge in improving the quality of flexographic printing.

For example, in the field of offset printing, inventions relating to a ghost erasing method and a discarded net generation device for avoiding a defect phenomenon called ghost that occurs due to a density difference or arrangement of pictures are disclosed (for example, Patent Document 1 and 2).
However, these cannot be a means for solving the “edge blur” of flexographic printing.

An object of the present invention is to provide a method for preventing the phenomenon of “edge blurring” in flexographic printing.

As a result of intensive research, the inventors have devised the solid portion of the rear end perpendicular to the printing direction of the flexographic printing so that the end portion of the flexographic solid portion does not blur. It came to provide the method of preventing an edge blur.

That is, according to the present invention, a halftone dot portion for flexographic printing is provided, which is provided with a halftone dot portion adjacent to the rear end portion of the solid portion orthogonal to the printing direction so as not to cause the end portion blurring of the solid portion for flexographic printing. It relates to a prevention method.

The present invention also provides flexographic printing in which the width of the halftone dot portion adjacent to the rear end of the solid portion perpendicular to the printing direction is 0.05 to 5 mm and the halftone dot percentage is 99.5 to 90%. The present invention relates to a method for preventing blurring of the end of the slab.

Furthermore, the present invention relates to a printed matter using the method for preventing blurring at the end of flexographic printing.

According to the present invention, the edge portion of the solid portion of the flexographic printing is not blurred, and a high-quality flexographic print having uniform ink transfer at the solid portion can be produced.

In the flexographic printing edge blurring prevention method of the present invention, the flexographic printing solid portion is adjacent to the solid portion at the rear end portion orthogonal to the printing direction so that the edge blurring does not occur in the flexographic printing solid portion. Is provided.

When using a solid portion, it is possible to suppress blurring of the end portion by inserting a band-shaped halftone dot portion at the rear end portion orthogonal to the printing direction. FIG. 1 is an enlarged photograph of an edge blur seen on a solid portion of a flexographic print. In the present invention, a belt-like halftone dot portion is inserted at the rear end portion that is adjacent to the solid portion of the flexographic plate and orthogonal to the printing direction.
FIG. 3 is a plan view of a solid flexo plate that can prevent blurring of the end of the present invention. If the method for preventing blurring at the end of flexographic printing according to the present invention is used, it is possible to obtain a printed matter composed of a high-quality solid portion without white spots shown in FIG.
The size of the solid portion is not particularly limited from a large size of several tens of centimeters wide assuming a pattern of printed matter to a small size of several millimeters wide, and can be used for solid patches used for print density management. Also, the pattern is not limited to a quadrilateral, and can be applied to any pattern in which edge blurring occurs.

FIG. 4 is an illustration showing a cross-sectional view of the flexographic printing plate cylinder and the printing plate solid portion showing the mechanism of edge blurring.
In flexographic printing, it is common to mount a plate-shaped flexographic plate on a cylindrical cylinder after plate making. Because of the difference in circumference between the top and bottom of the flexographic plate when it is mounted on a cylindrical cylinder, In contrast to the broken line shape showing the outer shape of the flexographic plate No. 4, there is a tendency for distortion to occur at the top as compared with the bottom of the plate as shown by the solid line.
In order to eliminate this distortion, slight deformation occurs at both ends of the solid portion (slightly solid portion side from the boundary with the non-image portion). In particular, when printing is performed at the rear end portion, uneven printing pressure due to the deformation and a portion where the printing pressure is slightly insufficient occur, leading to blurring of the end portion. Since the halftone dot portion is formed by a combination of the image line portion and the non-image line portion, the distortion is eliminated in the entire dot portion, and the printing pressure is uniformly applied to the rear end portion, so that the end portion is hardly blurred. It is possible to prevent the end portion from fading by intentionally arranging the halftone dot portion at the end portion of the printing direction solid portion where the end portion fading is likely to occur.

In general, the edge blur occurs at a location about 0.2 mm to 0.5 mm away from the rear end of printing, so that the width of the halftone dot portion is preferably 0.05 to 5 mm, more preferably 0.1 mm to 2 mm. In consideration of suppressing a visual density difference from the solid portion, a halftone dot of 99.5 to 90% is preferable, and 99 to 95% is more preferable. If the halftone dot size is smaller than 90%, there is a risk that the halftone dot pattern is reproduced on the printed matter.
The number of halftone lines for determining one halftone dot size is preferably 45 line / inch to 65 line / inch. Also, a digital halftone dot of 85 to 300 dpi can be used.

[Preparation of printing plate]
AFP-DSF (1.14 mm) manufactured by Asahi Kasei is used as the flexographic plate, and the halftone dot% adjacent to the end portion of the solid portion in the printing direction is 99.5%, 98%, 95%, 90% of the number of lines 45 lines / inch. For the four types, plates having a halftone dot processing width of 0.05 to 3.0 mm were made according to Table 1.
