Abstract
Description
本発明は、バイオマスを処理する方法に関し、より具体的には、多糖を含む材料から糖類を製造するためのバイオマスの前処理、及びバイオ燃料又は他の高価値の生成物において用いるための組成物に関する。
(a)多糖を含むバイオマスを与え;
(b)バイオマスを少なくとも1種類のα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸を含む溶液と接触させて、それによってバイオマスを加水分解して、少なくとも1種類の発酵性糖、α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸、及び少なくとも1種類のα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の塩を含む生成物流を生成させ;
(c)α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の塩の少なくとも一部を鉱酸と接触させて、α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸及び鉱酸の塩を形成し;
(d)加熱及び/又は圧力を減少させることによってα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の少なくとも一部を鉱酸から分離し、α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸をその成分形態で回収し;そして
(e)少なくとも1種類の発酵性糖を含む酸が除去された生成物を生成物流から回収する;
ことを含む、バイオマス処理プロセスにおいてα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸を回収する方法。
(a)多糖を含むバイオマスを与え;
(b)バイオマスを、約50℃〜約150℃の範囲内の温度及び0.5bara〜約11baraの範囲内の圧力において、溶液を基準として約1重量%〜約55重量%の量の少なくとも1種類のα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸を含む溶液と接触させて、それによってバイオマスを加水分解して、少なくとも1種類の発酵性糖、α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸、及び少なくとも1種類のα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の塩を含む生成物流を生成させ;
(c)α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の塩の少なくとも一部を、α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の塩に対して約0.1当量〜約1.2当量の鉱酸の量の、硫酸、リン酸、塩酸、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される鉱酸と、約50℃〜約150℃の範囲内の温度において接触させて、α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸及び鉱酸の塩を形成し;
(d)約50℃〜約150℃の範囲内の温度及び約0.1bara〜約5baraの範囲内の圧力において鉱酸からα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の少なくとも一部を分離し、但し(i)この温度は工程(b)より高いか、(ii)この圧力は工程(b)より低いか、又は(iii)この温度は工程(b)より高く、且つこの圧力は工程(b)より低く、そしてα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸をその成分形態で回収し;
(e)少なくとも1種類の発酵性糖を含む酸が除去された生成物を生成物流から回収する;

幾つかの態様においては、加水分解システム及び発酵システムは同じ容器内で実施することができる。一態様においては、加水分解を部分的に完了させることができ、部分的に加水分解した流れを発酵させることができる。一態様においては、同時糖化/発酵(SSF)プロセスを用いることができ、ここでは最終的な固形分パーセントが満足されるまで加水分解システムを運転することができ、次に加水分解したバイオマスを発酵システムに移すことができる。
一般的な方法及び材料:
本例においては、Sigma-Aldrich Co.からアルデヒド又はアルデヒド前駆体を入手した。
アルデヒド及びケトンは、上式1にしたがって水中で二酸化イオウと容易に反応してα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸を形成する。これらの反応は一般に迅速であり、多少発熱性である。添加の順番(SO2、次にカルボニル、或いはカルボニル、次にSO2)は、反応の結果に影響を与えるようには見えなかった。カルボニルがアルドール反応させることができる場合には、高濃度の混合物(>30重量%)の製造は、最良には副反応を最小にするために周囲温度よりも低い温度において行う。本発明者らは、圧力反応容器又はシステム中に挿入することができるプローブを用いるin situの赤外分光法(ISIR)を用いて反応の経過を追跡することが有益であることを見出した。Mettler Toledo Autochemのセンチネルプローブのようなシステムの数多くの製造者が存在する。出発物質:水(1640cm−1)、カルボニル(有機カルボニル構造に応じて約1750cm−1〜1650cm−1)、及びSO2(1331cm−1)を観察することができるのに加えて、α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の形成は、SO3 −基(1200cm−1付近のブロードなバンド)及びα−ヒドロキシ基の伸縮(1125cm−1付近の単一乃至複数のバンド)の特性バンドの形成を伴う。α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の形成をモニターすることに加えて、出発成分及び酸コンプレックスの相対ピーク高さによって、任意の温度及び圧力における平衡の相対位置を容易に評価することができる。また、ISIRによってバイオマス加水分解条件下におけるα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の最終的な存在を確認することもでき、適当なIRバンドをモニターすることによって、反応混合物中における糖類の成長をモニターすることが可能である。
α−ヒドロキシエタンスルホン酸の長期間安定性、次にα−ヒドロキシエタンスルホン酸の逆進及び塔頂回収を行った。
バイオマスを存在させないで、K2CO3の存在下でのα−ヒドロキシエタンスルホン酸(HESA)の逆進及び回収を行った。
ほぼ等モル量の硫酸をカルシウムHESAに加え、塔頂においてHESAを回収することによって、HESAの回収を行った。
実施例7:
カルシウムHESA塩にリン酸を加えてHESAを塔頂において回収することによって、HESAの回収を行った。
DiComp-IRプローブを装備した300mLのオートクレーブ中に、HESAのカルシウム塩を含む合計で153.43gの溶液を配置した。溶液は、酸として15.0gのHESA、及び等モル濃度の炭酸カルシウムから形成した。この塩溶液に、6.44gの85重量%リン酸(全部が解離すると合計で約0.0168モルのH+)をゆっくりと加えた。リン酸の添加が完了した後、反応器を密閉した。これに加熱バンドを取付け、スターラーを始動させた(1000rpm)。次に、加熱の前にシステムを窒素で3回軽くパージした。次に試料を102℃に加熱し、この温度において2分間保持した。反応器圧力は約39psigであった。
カルシウムHESA塩に塩酸を加え、塔頂においてHESAを回収することによってHESAの回収を行った。
既にストリッピングした予備処理再循環流中においてHESA塩の逆進を行った。
US−2013/0295629に記載の方法によって液体再循環流を形成し、安定状態の酸のHESA塩のゆっくりとした形成が見られた。プロセス中において、遊離酸を塔頂から排出して再循環した。HESAアニオンは、流れの中の水に対して重量基準で0.019の比を有することが示された。更に、蒸発及び重量測定によって、水よりも重い物質(糖類、塩、及び他の可溶物)は約15重量%であることが分かった。したがって、全溶液中のHESAアニオンは、全体で約1.6重量%又は全体で約16.0gであった。溶液中のCa2+及びK+イオンは、(X線ケイ光によると)モル基準で溶液中に見られるHESAアニオンにほぼ一致していた。
硫酸に代えて8.64gの85重量%リン酸を加えて、実施例10を繰り返した。
US−2013/0295629に記載の方法によって液体再循環流を形成し、酸のHESA塩の安定状態のゆっくりとした形成が見られた。プロセス中において、遊離酸を塔頂から排出して再循環した。HESAアニオンは、流れの中の水に対して重量基準で0.019の比を有することが示された。更に、蒸発及び重量測定によって、水よりも重い物質(糖類、塩、及び他の可溶物)は約15重量%であることが分かった。したがって、全溶液中のHESAアニオンは、全体で約1.55重量%又は15.5gであった。溶液中のCa2+及びK+イオンは、(X線ケイ光によると)モル基準で溶液中に見られるHESAアニオンにほぼ一致していた。
Claims (19)
- (a)多糖を含むバイオマスを与え;
(b)バイオマスを少なくとも1種類のα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸を含む溶液と接触させて、それによってバイオマスを加水分解して、少なくとも1種類の発酵性糖、α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸、及び少なくとも1種類のα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の塩を含む生成物流を生成させ;
(c)α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の塩の少なくとも一部を鉱酸と接触させて、α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸及び鉱酸の塩を形成し;
(d)加熱及び/又は圧力を減少させることによってα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の少なくとも一部を鉱酸から分離し、α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸をその成分形態で回収し;そして
(e)少なくとも1種類の発酵性糖を含む酸が除去された生成物を生成物流から回収する;
ことを含む、バイオマス処理プロセスにおいてα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸を回収する方法。 - 加熱及び/又は圧力を減少させることによって生成物からα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の少なくとも一部をその成分形態で除去することによってα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸を回収して、少なくとも1種類の発酵性糖を含む酸が除去された生成物を生成させる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 工程(c)において、鉱酸をα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の塩に対して0.1当量〜1.2当量の量で存在させる、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸を、溶液を基準として約1重量%〜約55重量%の量で存在させる、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 工程(b)を、約50℃〜約150℃の範囲内の温度及び0.5bara〜約11baraの範囲内の圧力において行う、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 鉱酸が、硫酸、リン酸、塩酸、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 工程(c)を約50℃〜約150℃の範囲内の温度において行う、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 工程(d)を、約50℃〜約150℃の範囲内の温度及び約0.1bara〜約5baraの範囲内の圧力において行う、請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の方法。
- α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の塩の量に対してほぼ等モル量以下の鉱酸を工程(c)に供給する、請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 鉱酸を工程(c)に供給する、請求項1〜9及び19のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 鉱酸を工程(b)に供給する、請求項1〜10及び19のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1種類の発酵性糖が少なくとも1種類のペントース及び/又は少なくとも1種類のヘキソースを含む、請求項1〜11及び19のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 発酵性糖を含む液体流及び残留するバイオマスを含む湿潤状態の固体流を酸が除去された生成物から分離することを更に含む、請求項1〜12及び19のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 液体流の少なくとも一部を工程(b)に再循環する、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 鉱酸を液体流の再循環流に供給する、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 回収されるα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸を、成分としてか又はその再結合形態で工程(b)に再循環する、請求項1〜15のいずれかに記載の方法。
- バイオマスを120℃以下の温度においてα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸と接触させる、請求項1〜16のいずれかに記載の方法
- 酸が除去された生成物を更に処理して少なくとも1種類の有機化合物を生成させる、請求項1〜17及び19のいずれかに記載の方法。
- (a)多糖を含むバイオマスを与え;
(b)バイオマスを、約50℃〜約150℃の範囲内の温度及び0.5bara〜約11baraの範囲内の圧力において、溶液を基準として約1重量%〜約55重量%の量の少なくとも1種類のα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸を含む溶液と接触させて、それによってバイオマスを加水分解して、少なくとも1種類の発酵性糖、α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸、及び少なくとも1種類のα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の塩を含む生成物流を生成させ;
(c)α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の塩の少なくとも一部を、α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の塩に対して約0.1当量〜約1.2当量の量の、硫酸、リン酸、塩酸、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される鉱酸と、約50℃〜約150℃の範囲内の温度において接触させて、α−ヒドロキシスルホン酸及び鉱酸の塩を形成し;
(d)約50℃〜約150℃の範囲内の温度及び約0.1bara〜約5baraの範囲内の圧力において鉱酸からα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸の少なくとも一部を分離し、但し(i)この温度は工程(b)より高いか、(ii)この圧力は工程(b)より低いか、又は(iii)この温度は工程(b)より高く、且つこの圧力は工程(b)より低く、そしてα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸をその成分形態で回収し;
(e)少なくとも1種類の発酵性糖を含む酸が除去された生成物を生成物流から回収する;
ことを含む、バイオマス処理プロセスにおいてα−ヒドロキシスルホン酸を回収する方法。
