Description
Claims (18)
- 3以上の同心ゾーンを有している管状デプスフィルタエレメントであって、
(i)各々のゾーンが基本的に連続フィラメントで作られているか、或いは(ii)外側ゾーンの1以上のフィラメントが他のゾーンのフィラメントよりも大きい直径を有しており、
外側ゾーンのフィラメントが、他のゾーンの奥行きの少なくとも50%を貫いて該他のゾーンのフィラメントに重なり、交わり、或いは混ざり合っている、管状デプスフィルタエレメント。 - 外側ゾーンのフィラメントが、他のゾーンの奥行きの少なくとも50%を貫いて該他のゾーンのフィラメントに重なり、交わり、或いは混ざり合っている、請求項1に記載の管状デプスフィルタエレメント。
- 外側ゾーンのフィラメントが、他のゾーンの奥行きの全体を貫いて該他のゾーンのフィラメントに重なり、交わり、或いは混ざり合っている、請求項1又は請求項2に記載の管状デプスフィルタエレメント。
- 4以上の同心ゾーンを有している、請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか1項に記載の管状デプスフィルタエレメント。
- 5以上の同心ゾーンを有している、請求項4に記載の管状デプスフィルタエレメント。
- すべてのゾーンを横切る1以上の追加のフィラメントを有している、請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか1項に記載の管状デプスフィルタエレメント。
- 4.5インチ以上の外径を有している、請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか1項に記載の管状デプスフィルタエレメント。
- 6インチ以上の外径を有している、請求項7に記載の管状デプスフィルタエレメント。
- 20ミクロンの粒子の除去に関して少なくとも90%の効率を有し、或いは70ミクロンの粒子の絶対除去を有している、請求項7又は請求項8に記載の管状デプスフィルタエレメント。
- 清浄水の浸透性が、40gpmで動作させられる少なくとも長さ37インチのフィルタにおいて0.5psi以下、又は100gpmで動作させられる少なくとも長さ37インチのフィルタにおいて1psi以下である、請求項7乃至請求項9のいずれか1項に記載の管状デプスフィルタエレメント。
- デプスフィルタエレメントの製造方法であって、
メルトブローによるフィラメントを回転しているマンドレルへと吹き付けて円錐形のプレスローラに接触したフィラメントの塊を形成するステップを含んでおり、
フィラメントは、マンドレルの長さに沿って間隔を空けつつ並べられた3以上のノズルから吹き付けられ、フィラメントのうちの1つは、隣のフィラメントゾーンの吹き付けパターンの少なくとも50%と重なる吹き付けパターンにて形成される、方法。 - フィラメントのうちの1つは、隣のフィラメントの吹き付けパターンの少なくとも85%と重なる吹き付けパターンにて形成される、請求項11に記載の方法。
- フィラメントのうちの1つは、隣のフィラメントの吹き付けパターンの全体と重なる吹き付けパターンにて形成される、請求項11又は請求項12に記載の方法。
- 重なる吹き付けパターンは、外側ゾーンを形成するノズルから生み出される、請求項11乃至請求項13のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 重なる吹き付けパターンは、重ねられるゾーンに向かってマンドレルの法線に対して少なくとも10度傾けられる、請求項14に記載の方法。
- デプスフィルタエレメントを製造する装置であって、
a)回転可能なマンドレルと、
b)円錐形のプレスローラと、
c)マンドレルの長さに沿って間隔を空けつつ並べられ、溶融紡糸フィラメントをマンドレルへと吹き付けるように構成された3以上のノズルと
を備えており、
ノズルのうちの第1のノズルは、第2のノズルによって形成される吹き付けパターンの少なくとも50%と重なる吹き付けパターンを形成するように構成されている、装置。 - ノズルのうちの第1のノズルは、第2のノズルによって形成される吹き付けパターンの少なくとも85%と重なる吹き付けパターンを形成するように構成されている、請求項15に記載の装置。
- ノズルのうちの第1のノズルは、第2のノズルに対して少なくとも10度傾けられている、請求項16又は請求項請求項17に記載の装置。
