Abstract
Description
活性炭繊維を金属酸化物またはその前駆体の存在下で繊維を加熱することによって多数の金属酸化物で官能性を持たせた。金属酸化物官能性を持たせた活性炭繊維が種々のアルデヒドを捕獲する能力を煙成分が気体生成によって添加された不活性ガスの流れを含んだテスト系によって決定した。試験材料を気体の流路に配置し、それは質量分析計と連通した。バイパスを気体が質量分析計に直接入ることができるように、試験材料を迂回するように使用した。活性炭材料によって捕獲される煙成分の量を活性炭材料を回避する流れにおいて存在する成分の量に対する活性炭材料を通して流れにおいて存在する成分の量に関する質量分析計結果を比較することによって決定した。

- 請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の喫煙物品であって、前記官能性を持たせた活性炭材料は、約5w/w%以上のアセトアルデヒドのための吸着能力を有する、喫煙物品。
- 喫煙物品における使用のためのフィルタであって:
金属酸化物で官能性を持たせた活性炭材料を含み、前記金属酸化物は2族金属酸化物であり、および前記官能性を持たせた活性炭材料は、官能性を持たせていない活性炭より大きな程度に、たばこ基体の下流に喫煙物品に組み込まれる時、主流煙におけるアセトアルデヒドのレベルを減少させる、フィルタ。 - 喫煙物品のフィルタにおける使用のために金属酸化物官能性を持たせた活性炭材料を作成するためのプロセスであって:
活性炭材料を2族金属酸化物またはその前駆体に接触させること;および
前記金属酸化物またはその前駆体とともに前記活性炭材料を加熱して、前記金属酸化物で前記活性炭材料に官能性を持たせ、および前記金属酸化物官能性を持たせた活性炭材料を製造すること、
を含む、プロセス。 - 請求項9に記載のプロセスであって、前記金属酸化物は、MgOまたはCaOである、もしくは前駆体は、MgOまたはCaOを生じるように構成されている、プロセス。
- 請求項9に記載のプロセスであって、金属酸化物前駆体は、Mg(NO3)2、Ca(NO3)2またはそれらの水和物である、プロセス。
- 請求項9〜11のいずれか1項に記載のプロセスであって、加熱は、約300℃〜500℃の間の温度にて加熱することを含む、プロセス。
- 請求項9〜12のいずれか1項に記載のプロセスであって、前記活性炭材料は、1000m2/g以上のBET表面積を有する多孔性材料である、プロセス。
- 請求項9〜13のいずれか1項に記載のプロセスであって、前記官能性を持たせた活性炭材料を喫煙物品のためのフィルタに組み込むことをさらに含む、プロセス。
- 1つまたは複数の煙成分を捕獲するための方法であって、方法は:
2族金属酸化物で官能性を持たせた活性炭材料を含むフィルタエレメントを提供すること;および
前記フィルタエレメントを通してアルデヒドを含む気体流を通過して、前記アルデヒドの少なくとも一部を捕獲すること、
を含み、
前記官能性を持たせた活性炭材料は、官能性を持たせていない活性炭より多くの前記アルデヒドを捕獲する、方法。
