Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a secondary battery manufacturing apparatus. In detail, it is related with the manufacturing apparatus which manufactures the secondary battery provided with the winding electrode body formed by winding an electrode sheet.
Secondary batteries such as lithium-ion secondary batteries are lighter and have higher energy density than existing batteries, so they are preferable as high-output power sources for vehicles, portable power sources for mobile phones and notebook computers, etc. It's being used. In general, this type of battery is configured such that a wound electrode body formed by winding a positive electrode sheet and a negative electrode sheet through an insulating separator sheet is housed in a battery case together with an electrolytic solution. Such a secondary battery manufacturing apparatus includes means for feeding each of the positive electrode sheet, the negative electrode sheet, and the separator sheet to a winding position and winding them by a winding roller in order to obtain the wound electrode body.
During winding, if the winding proceeds while the positive electrode sheet, the negative electrode sheet, and the separator sheet are shifted from their original positions, problems such as a short circuit between the positive and negative electrode sheets occur in the obtained secondary battery. There is a fear. Therefore, in order to detect such a positional shift of the positive and negative electrode sheets, a technique for detecting the positions of the edges of the electrode sheets by an optical detector has been developed.
However, according to the conventional positional deviation detection method, there is a case where reading of the detection target point is not sufficiently accurate. In particular, when a part of the surface of the electrode sheet is glossy, light is irregularly reflected on the surface of the electrode sheet due to the undulation of the electrode sheet itself, so that the detection (recognition) accuracy of the detection target point by the optical detector is improved. It was apt to be damaged. This invention is made | formed in view of this situation, The objective is to provide the manufacturing apparatus of the secondary battery which can detect the position shift at the time of winding of an electrode sheet accurately.
An apparatus for manufacturing a secondary battery provided by the present invention is a means for conveying a positive electrode sheet, a negative electrode sheet, and a separator sheet to a common take-up shaft along their respective carrying paths and winding them around the take-up shaft. Is provided. In addition, the manufacturing apparatus includes a misalignment detection unit that measures misalignment of the positive electrode sheet and the negative electrode sheet between the take-up shaft and the auxiliary shaft closest to the take-up shaft in each conveyance path. The misregistration detection means measures the displacement of the detected position of the detection target point from the target position, and the positive detection means and the negative detection means for detecting the position of the detection target point on the positive electrode sheet and the negative electrode sheet, respectively. Displacement measuring means. At least one of the positive electrode detection unit and the negative electrode detection unit is configured to detect the position of the detection target point set on the surface of the positive electrode sheet or the negative electrode sheet (hereinafter also referred to as “target electrode sheet”) that is a detection target. Each of the on-plane target point detecting means is configured to detect optically. The on-plane target point detection means includes an optical detector having an optical axis changing function and illumination having a predetermined light emission range. Here, in the target electrode sheet, the waviness angles in the direction along the transport path and the direction orthogonal to the direction along the transport path are θ MD and θ TD , respectively. At this time, when viewed from the direction along the transport path, the manufacturing apparatus has a line connecting the one end and the other end of the light emission range and the detection target point, and a direction of the optical axis toward the detection target point. Angles α 1 and α 2 formed by a certain inspection direction W satisfy α 1 ≧ 2θ TD and α 2 ≧ 2θ TD , respectively, and viewed from a direction perpendicular to the direction along the transport path, as described above. The angles β 1 and β formed by the lines connecting the one end and the other end of the target electrode and the detection target point, and the direction W ′ in which the angle formed with the sheet surface of the target electrode sheet is equal to the inspection direction W, respectively. 2 is configured to satisfy β 1 ≧ 2θ MD and β 2 ≧ 2θ MD .
In the manufacturing apparatus described above, illumination is installed in consideration of the undulation of the target electrode sheet for the target electrode sheet to which the on-surface target point detecting means that is easily affected by irregular reflection is applied. As a result, the influence of the irregular reflection on the detection accuracy can be reduced, and the positional deviation can be detected accurately for both the positive and negative electrode sheets. Moreover, since the manufacturing apparatus disclosed here includes an optical detector having an optical axis changing function, there are few restrictions on the position at which the positional deviation of the electrode sheet is measured. This is also advantageous in improving the detection accuracy of the positional deviation of the electrode sheet. If the detection accuracy of the positional deviation is improved, control for accurately correcting the positional deviation can be performed based on the detection result, so that the wound electrode body in which the winding deviation is suppressed can be manufactured with a high yield. As a result, a secondary battery equipped with the wound electrode body can be efficiently manufactured. The manufacturing apparatus disclosed herein can also be grasped as a manufacturing apparatus for a wound electrode body. Accordingly, a wound electrode body manufacturing apparatus is provided as another aspect of the present invention.
Preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. Note that matters other than matters specifically mentioned in the present specification and necessary for the implementation of the present invention can be grasped as design matters of those skilled in the art based on the prior art in this field. The present invention can be carried out based on the contents disclosed in this specification and common technical knowledge in the field. Moreover, although a lithium ion secondary battery manufacturing apparatus will be described as a preferred application example of the secondary battery manufacturing apparatus disclosed herein, it is not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.
As shown in FIG. 1, the secondary

The

The distance F between the detection target point detected by the
In a preferred embodiment, the detection target point can be set so that the distance F and the distance G are equal. According to this aspect, the location where the misalignment is measured in the
The detection target points of the positive and
A detection target point in a preferred embodiment will be described. FIG. 4 is a schematic diagram showing a cross section in a direction orthogonal to the conveying direction of the
Hereinafter, a configuration example of the positive electrode detection means (on-surface target point detection means) 102 will be specifically described.
The
Here, the waviness of the electrode sheet refers to an unevenness on the surface of the electrode sheet, which has a longer wavelength than the surface roughness of the electrode sheet. The size of the undulation of the electrode sheet can be grasped by the undulation angle measured along a predetermined direction.
The on-plane target point detection means 102 in this embodiment includes an
FIG. 4 shows a configuration of the
As shown in the example shown in FIG. 4, according to the
