Description
ここでk0は、表面波と同じ周波数を有する自由空間放射の波数である。Z0、Zsub及びZsheetはそれぞれ、自由空間、誘電体基板及びインピーダンスシートのインピーダンスである。nsub及びdはそれぞれ、誘電体基板の屈折率と厚みである。wはSW導波管の幅である。インピーダンスシートが導電性パッチのアレイとして実現されると、Zsheetはパッチの幾何形状及び基板特性から決定される。

Claims (10)
- 対向側端部を備えるベース導電性接地板、
1つの導電性側壁が前記ベース導電性接地板の各側端部から延在する一対の導電性側壁、
前記ベース導電性接地板上及び前記導電性側壁の間に配置される誘電体材料を備える基板、並びに
電磁波送信用に所定のインピーダンス特性を備え、前記基板上及び前記導電性側壁の間に配置されるインピーダンスシート
を備える、表面波導波管。 - 前記誘電体材料は空芯を含む、請求項1に記載の表面波導波管。
- 前記インピーダンスシートは金属パッチのアレイを含む、請求項1又は2に記載の表面波導波管。
- 前記インピーダンスシートは、
所定の距離で互いに隣接するように配置される複数の金属パッチ、
隣接する金属パッチをつなぐ可変インピーダンス素子、
を備える、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の表面波導波管。 - 各導電性側壁は、前記ベース導電性接地板と隣接する各ビアを電気的につなぐ導電性細片との間で電気的に接続された複数のビアを含む、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の表面波導波管。
- 前記インピーダンスシートの前記所定のインピーダンス特性は、前記インピーダンスシートにわたって一定のインピーダンス特性を備える、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の表面波導波管。
- 電磁エネルギーを送受信するように構成される複数の放射素子を備えるアンテナシステムであって、
前記放射素子の各々は表面波導波管を備え、前記表面波導波管は、
対向側端部を含むベース導電性接地板と、
1つの導電性側壁が前記ベース導電性接地板の各側端部から延在する一対の導電性側壁と、
前記ベース導電性接地板上及び前記導電性側壁の間に配置される誘電体材料を備える基板と、
電磁波送信用に所定のインピーダンス特性を備え、前記基板上及び前記導電性側壁の間に配置されるインピーダンスシートと
を備える、アンテナシステム。 - 前記インピーダンスシートの前記所定のインピーダンス特性は、前記インピーダンスシートの長さに沿って周期的に変動するインピーダンスを備える、請求項7に記載のアンテナシステム。
- 互いに隣接して配置される2つ以上の表面波導波管を更に備える、請求項7又は8に記載のアンテナシステム。
- 表面波導波管に沿って電磁波を送信することであって、前記表面波導波管は、
対向側端部を含むベース導電性接地板と、
1つの導電性側壁が前記ベース導電性接地板の各側端部から延在する一対の導電性側壁と、
前記ベース導電性接地板上及び前記導電性側壁の間に配置される誘電体材料を備える基板と、
電磁波送信用に所定のインピーダンス特性を備え、前記基板上及び前記導電性側壁の間に配置されるインピーダンスシートであって、可変素子を備えるインピーダンスシートと
を備える、送信することと、
前記アンテナシステムの面に垂直な方向の角度範囲全体にわたって、前記アンテナシステムによって生成される放射パターンのメイン放射ローブをスキャンするための前記可変素子を調整することと
を含む、アンテナシステムを電気的にステアリングするための方法。
