Claims (32)
- 1つ又はそれよりも多くの埋め込み可能医療デバイスを充電するための外部充電器システムであって、
前記1つ又はそれよりも多くの埋め込み可能医療デバイスに給電する第1の場を選択的に与えるように構成された内部第1充電コイルを含む外部充電器と、
前記1つ又はそれよりも多くの埋め込み可能医療デバイスに給電する第2の場を選択的に与えるように構成された第2充電コイルを各々が含む複数の外部充電コイルアセンブリと、
を含み、
各外部充電コイルアセンブリが、前記外部充電器のポートで該外部充電器に取り付け可能であり且つ該外部充電器から切り離し可能である、
ことを特徴とするシステム。 - 少なくとも1つの外部充電コイルアセンブリが、可撓性を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 少なくとも1つの外部充電コイルアセンブリが、硬質であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記外部充電器は、前記第1充電コイルと前記外部充電コイルアセンブリの前記第2充電コイルとを励磁して前記第1及び第2の場をそれぞれ生成するためのコイルドライバを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記外部充電器に外部充電コイルアセンブリが取り付けられていない場合に、前記第1充電コイルを用いて前記第1の場を前記1つ又はそれよりも多くの埋め込み可能医療デバイスに供給することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記外部充電器に取り付けられた外部充電コイルアセンブリの第2充電コイルを用いて前記第2の場を前記1つ又はそれよりも多くの埋め込み可能医療デバイスに供給することを特徴とする請求項5に記載のシステム。
- 少なくとも1つの外部充電コイルアセンブリが、少なくとも1つのサーミスタを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記サーミスタの少なくとも1つが、前記外部充電コイルアセンブリのうちの1つに対するアドレスを符号化するのに使用されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のシステム。
- 前記外部充電器は、前記複数の外部充電コイルアセンブリのうちのどれが前記ポートで該外部充電器に取り付けられたかを自動的に決定するためのマイクロコントローラを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記マイクロコントローラは、どのアセンブリが取り付けられたかをそのアセンブリに対する少なくとも1つのアドレスを読み取ることによって決定することを特徴とする請求項9に記載のシステム。
- 前記マイクロコントローラは、前記取り付けられたアセンブリに従ってシステムの作動を調節することを特徴とする請求項9に記載のシステム。
- 前記システムの作動を調節することは、前記取り付けられたアセンブリ内の前記第2充電コイルによって供給される前記第2の場の強度を調節することを含むことを特徴とする請求項11に記載のシステム。
- 前記外部充電器は、前記取り付けられたアセンブリ内の前記第2充電コイルによって供給される前記第2の場の前記強度を調節するためのコイルドライバ回路を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載のシステム。
- 前記システムの作動を調節することは、前記取り付けられたアセンブリに対する温度設定値を調節することを含むことを特徴とする請求項11に記載のシステム。
- 前記複数の外部充電コイルアセンブリの各々が、前記外部充電器によって認識可能な少なくとも1つの固有アドレスを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記外部充電器は、ユーザインタフェースとバッテリを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記外部充電器内の前記バッテリを充電するように構成されたクレードルを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項16に記載のシステム。
- 前記クレードルは、前記外部充電器に給電するように更に構成され、
前記外部充電器に供給される電力を使用して、前記ポートに取り付けられた外部充電コイルアセンブリの前記第2の場を生成することができる、
ことを特徴とする請求項17に記載のシステム。 - 前記ポートに取り付けられた外部充電コイルアセンブリの前記第2の場は、前記外部充電器に供給される前記電力又は前記バッテリのいずれかを用いて生成されることを特徴とする請求項17に記載のシステム。
- 各外部充電コイルアセンブリが、前記1つ又はそれよりも多くの埋め込み可能医療デバイスに供給される電力を集束させるための磁気遮蔽材料を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 外部充電器システムを用いて1つ又はそれよりも多くの埋め込み可能医療デバイスを充電する方法であって、
外部充電器に外部充電アセンブリが結合されているか否かを決定する段階と、
前記外部充電器に外部充電アセンブリが結合されている場合に、該外部充電器に結合された該外部充電アセンブリのタイプを決定する段階と、
前記取り付けられた外部充電アセンブリを用いて前記1つ又はそれよりも多くの埋め込み可能医療デバイスを無線充電する段階と、
を含み、
前記充電する段階は、前記取り付けられた外部充電アセンブリの前記決定されたタイプに少なくとも部分的に基づいて制御される、
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記外部充電器に外部充電アセンブリが結合されていない場合に、該外部充電器を用いて前記1つ又はそれよりも多くの埋め込み可能医療デバイスを無線充電する段階、
を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項21に記載の方法。 - 前記1つ又はそれよりも多くの埋め込み可能医療デバイスは、前記外部充電器内の第1コイルによって充電されることを特徴とする請求項22に記載の方法。
- 前記外部充電器での充電セッションを開始する段階を最初の段階として更に含むことを特徴とする請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記充電セッションを開始する段階は、前記外部充電器のユーザインタフェースで選択を受け入れる段階を含むことを特徴とする請求項24に記載の方法。
- 前記充電する段階は、前記取り付けられた外部充電アセンブリに外部充電器によって供給される電力を調節することによって制御されることを特徴とする請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記充電する段階は、前記取り付けられた外部充電アセンブリに対する温度設定値を調節することによって制御されることを特徴とする請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記外部充電器は、前記外部充電アセンブリに結合するためのポートを含むことを特徴とする請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記タイプは、前記外部充電アセンブリのアドレスを前記外部充電器において読み取ることによって決定されることを特徴とする請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記1つ又はそれよりも多くの埋め込み可能医療デバイスは、取り付けられた外部充電アセンブリ内の第2コイルによって充電されることを特徴とする請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記1つ又はそれよりも多くの埋め込み可能医療デバイスを充電するための電力が、前記外部充電器内のバッテリによって供給されることを特徴とする請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記1つ又はそれよりも多くの埋め込み可能医療デバイスを充電するための電力が、前記外部充電器に結合されたAC電源によって供給されることを特徴とする請求項21に記載の方法。
