Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an image sensor unit and an image reading apparatus. In particular, the present invention relates to an image sensor unit that reads paper sheets such as banknotes and an image reading apparatus to which the image sensor unit is applied.
An image reading unit for reading paper such as banknotes incorporates an image sensor unit for discriminating the type of paper, counting, and authenticity. In such an image reading apparatus, there are ones in which two sets of contact image sensor units are arranged to face each other with a paper sheet conveyance path interposed therebetween (see Patent Document 1). In the contact image sensor unit used in such an embodiment, it is preferable that the size of the paper sheet in the transport direction is small in order to suppress the occurrence of paper jams.
The contact-type image sensor unit includes a light source module that emits light toward a paper sheet, a light collecting body that collects light from the paper sheet, and an image sensor that detects light collected by the light collecting body. And have. The light source module, the condenser, and the image sensor are accommodated in the frame, and a cover member such as a glass plate is attached to the frame. The cover member and the frame are bonded to each other with a sealing material in order to prevent or suppress entry of foreign matter into the frame.
By the way, in the image sensor unit, the irradiation intensity of the light source module may change due to an environmental change (such as a temperature change in the use environment) or aged deterioration. Therefore, in order to correct this, a white reference is provided in the image sensor unit, a white correction value is acquired before the actual use of the image sensor unit, and an irradiation intensity (lighting time) is adjusted based on the acquired white correction value. The method of doing is used. Then, as described above, in the two sets of contact image sensor units arranged to face each other across the paper sheet conveyance path, one image sensor unit uses the white reference of the other image sensor unit. Some correct the irradiation intensity of the light source module.
When the cover member and the frame are bonded using a sealing material, it is preferable that the application area of the sealing material is large from the viewpoint of workability. Further, in the configuration in which the irradiation intensity is corrected using the white reference of the image sensor units arranged opposite to each other, it is preferable that the size of the white reference is large in consideration of variations in the assembly position of the contact image sensor unit. However, the frame size increases when the sealing material application area is increased or the white reference dimension is increased. As described above, it has been difficult to achieve both reduction in the size of the frame (particularly, the size in the conveyance direction of the paper sheet) and increase in the size of the application area of the sealing material and the white reference.
In view of the above situation, the problem to be solved by the present invention is to reduce the size in the width direction (the size in the moving direction relative to the paper sheet), and to increase the coating area of the sealing material and the white reference. Is to achieve both.
The image sensor unit of the present invention is an image sensor unit that is disposed and used facing each other so as to be able to read both sides of a sheet to be read, and which irradiates light toward the sheet And a light collecting body for collecting light from the paper sheets, an image sensor for detecting light collected by the light collecting body, the light source module, the light collecting body, and the image sensor. A cover member that covers the frame, and the cover member is joined to the frame by an adhesive material, and at least a part of the adhesive material is the light condensing of the other image sensor unit facing the frame. It is provided so that it may be located on the optical axis of a body.
In the present invention, “light” includes not only visible light but also electromagnetic waves in a wavelength region other than visible light (for example, electromagnetic waves having wavelengths in the infrared wavelength region or in the ultraviolet wavelength region).
ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, coexistence with size reduction of the width direction dimension (relative movement direction with paper sheets) of an image sensor unit and the enlargement of the application | coating area | region of a sealing material and a white reference | standard can be aimed at.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below in detail with reference to the drawings. An embodiment of the present invention is a contact image sensor unit having a 1 × optical system and an image reading apparatus having the image sensor unit. In each figure, three-dimensional directions are indicated by X, Y, and Z arrows. The X direction is the main scanning direction of the image sensor unit. The Y direction is the sub-scanning direction of the image sensor unit. The Z direction is the vertical direction of the image sensor unit. The sub-scanning direction is the direction of relative movement between the image sensor unit and the paper sheet, and the width direction of the image sensor unit.
In the embodiment of the present invention, “light” includes not only visible light but also electromagnetic waves in a wavelength range other than visible light (for example, electromagnetic waves having wavelengths in the infrared wavelength range or in the ultraviolet wavelength range).
(Image sensor unit)
The overall configuration of the
The
The
The
The

The
The
The
The
In addition, the

As shown in FIG. 2, the
Here, the operation of the

The
In addition, the structure which emits the light of the wavelength range different from the light of the incident wavelength range may be sufficient as the
As shown in FIG. 2, the
When two sets of
The second

An image reading apparatus to which the
As shown in FIG. 5, the paper sheet identification device 5 includes two sets of
The operation of the paper sheet identification device 5 having such a configuration is as follows. The
After that, the paper sheet identification device 5 determines the authenticity of the banknote by comparing the genuine note banknote image prepared in advance with the visible light image of the banknote to be determined at the time of authenticity determination. This is because the bill that is a genuine note is provided with regions in which images obtained from visible light, infrared light, and ultraviolet light are different from each other. The genuine note banknote image is a banknote image obtained by irradiating a bill that is a genuine note with visible light or the like, and is stored in the paper sheet identification device 5 in advance.
In addition, about the part which abbreviate | omitted description and illustration, the same structure as the conventional paper sheet identification device is applicable.
According to the embodiment of the present invention, the adhesive material has the function of the adhesive, the function of the sealing material, and the function of the white reference, so that it is not necessary to arrange them separately. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce both the size in the width direction of the image sensor unit (the size in the direction of movement relative to the paper sheet) and the size of the application area of the sealing material and the white reference. In addition, the number of components and the assembly configuration can be reduced as compared with a configuration in which an adhesive, a sealing material, and a member used for white reference are separately used.
As mentioned above, although embodiment of this invention was described with reference to drawings, this invention is not limited to these embodiment at all. The present invention can be variously modified without departing from the spirit of the invention.
The present invention is a technique effective for an image sensor unit.
