したがって本発明のさらなる対象は、１種または複数の式（Ｉ）の化合物ならびに１種または複数の脂肪族ビシナルジオールのまたは本発明による予混合物の、化粧料組成物、皮膚科学的組成物もしくは医薬組成物、植物保護調合物、または洗濯洗剤もしくは洗浄剤の防腐のための使用である。これに関しては化粧料組成物、皮膚科学的組成物または医薬組成物、植物保護調合物、または洗濯洗剤もしくは洗浄剤が、細菌、酵母および真菌に対して防腐されることが好ましい。特に好ましくは、化粧料組成物、皮膚科学的組成物もしくは医薬組成物、植物保護調合物、または洗濯洗剤もしくは洗浄剤が、酵母および真菌に対して、とりわけ好ましくは真菌に対して防腐される。
表１に示した結果により、カプリル酸イソソルビド１ ５０重量％と、エチルヘキシルグリセリン５０重量％とから成る本発明による組成物が、とりわけテストした酵母および真菌に対し、その抗菌作用に関して相乗効果を示すことが分かる。
