Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a cooling system for a superconducting cable that enables cooling of the superconducting cable to be continued for a long period of time even when a refrigerator has failed.
When using a superconducting cable for power transmission, it is necessary to always cool the superconducting cable so that the superconducting cable loses the superconducting capability and the power transmission is not impaired. Therefore, the superconducting cable is cooled by always flowing a cooling medium such as liquid nitrogen through the superconducting cable. A refrigerator or the like is used to cool the cooling medium that flows through the superconducting cable. However, the refrigerator is expensive, complicated, and easily damaged. Therefore, instead of providing a plurality of refrigerators, a low-cost backup system is required to reliably cool the superconducting cable at all times.
FIG. 11 shows an example of a conventional cooling system with a backup system. In FIG. 11, the
In addition, a
The cooling medium supplied to the
Patent Documents 1 and 2 disclose a cooling means including a decompression container having the decompression mechanism as described above when a cooling medium that cools the superconducting cable is taken out and cooled.
Since the pressure reducing mechanism of the backup tank is operated and the liquid refrigerant is released to the outside, the amount of liquid refrigerant stored is limited, so there is a limit to the operation of the backup tank. Although it is conceivable to recover the liquid refrigerant to be released, there is a problem that the recovery equipment becomes extremely expensive. Further, if it is attempted to increase the operation duration of the backup tank, it is necessary to increase the capacity of the backup tank, resulting in high costs.
Although there is a method of cooling the cooling medium only with the backup tank, this method requires a larger volume of the backup tank and a storage tank for liquid refrigerant, which is very expensive. is there.
Alternatively, there is a method of reducing the pressure while supplying the liquid refrigerant to the backup tank. However, since the liquid refrigerant that has lost flash is sucked by the vacuum pump, the amount of consumption of the liquid refrigerant increases. Furthermore, the temperature of the liquid refrigerant in the backup tank rises and it becomes difficult to control the temperature control of the cooling medium.
In the cooling system for a superconducting cable provided with a refrigerator and a backup tank in view of the problems of the conventional technology, the present invention cools the superconducting cable in the backup tank when the operation of the refrigerator for cooling the cooling medium is stopped. The purpose of the present invention is to allow the superconducting cable to be continuously cooled for a long period of time, and to reduce the size and cost of the backup tank.
The present invention relates to a cooling medium circulation path that takes out a cooling medium that is cooling a superconducting cable from one end of the superconducting cable and returns it to the other end of the superconducting cable, and a cooling medium that is provided in the cooling medium circulation path and flows through the cooling medium circulation path A heat exchanger that heat-exchanges the refrigerant that is stored in the backup medium, the backup tank having a pressure reducing mechanism that stores liquid refrigerant and depressurizes the inside, and the cooling medium that flows through the cooling medium circulation path and the liquid refrigerant that is stored in the backup tank And is applied to a cooling system for superconducting cables.
In order to achieve the above object, a plurality of backup tanks are provided in parallel to the heat exchanger, and a heat exchanger is provided outside each backup tank, and the liquid refrigerant stored in the plurality of backup tanks is stored. A plurality of liquid refrigerant circulation paths to be introduced into the heat exchanger, respectively, and a switching mechanism that allows liquid refrigerant to selectively circulate to the heat exchanger from one of the backup tanks via the liquid refrigerant circulation path And a heat exchanger is provided in the cooling medium circulation path upstream of the refrigerator.
In the above configuration, during the steady operation of the refrigerator, the liquid refrigerant circulates from at least one backup tank of the plurality of backup tanks to the heat exchanger. As a result, the liquid refrigerant circulated through the heat exchanger is cooled by the subcooled cooling medium taken out from the superconducting cable, and can maintain a liquid state.
When the operation is stopped due to a failure of the refrigerator, the pressure reducing mechanism of the backup tank that circulates the liquid refrigerant in the heat exchanger is operated. Thereby, the cooling medium can be cooled by cooling the liquid refrigerant circulating in the heat exchanger. When the liquid refrigerant stored in one backup tank is exhausted, the cooling of the superconducting cable can be continued by switching to another backup tank and circulating the liquid refrigerant from the other backup tank to the heat exchanger.
Further, by providing a plurality of backup tanks, each backup tank can be reduced in size, so that the backup tank can be transported, and handling such as filling with liquid refrigerant is facilitated.
Furthermore, by providing the heat exchanger outside the backup tank, it can be integrated into one heat exchanger, the heat exchanger configuration can be simplified and reduced in cost, and heat exchanger installation and maintenance are easy. Become. Further, by separating the heat exchanger, the configuration inside the backup tank can be simplified and reduced in cost.
Furthermore, by providing a heat exchanger in the cooling medium circulation path upstream of the refrigerator, liquid refrigerant circulated from one of the backup tanks to the heat exchanger is circulated from the superconducting cable during steady operation by the refrigerator. The subcooled cooling medium can be cooled. As a result, the liquid refrigerant stored in the backup tank can be held in a cooled state in liquid form.
Furthermore, since the liquid refrigerant in the backup tank is always cooled, it is not necessary to replenish the liquid refrigerant during steady operation, and unattended continuous operation is possible.
The inventors of the present invention considered a configuration different from the present invention before reaching the present invention. The configuration is such that a plurality of backup tanks are provided and a heat exchanger is provided inside each backup tank. Thus, when the liquid refrigerant in one backup tank is consumed, the cooling medium is cooled in another backup tank, so that cooling of the cooling medium can be continued and each backup tank can be downsized.
Furthermore, by providing a plurality of backup tanks, the size of each backup tank can be reduced, so that the backup tank can be transported, and handling such as filling with liquid refrigerant is facilitated.
However, the present inventors have reached the present invention for the purpose of further reducing the configuration of the backup tank and the heat exchanger and reducing the cost.
As one aspect of the present invention, when a temperature sensor provided in a cooling medium circulation path downstream from the refrigerator and a detected value of the temperature sensor are input and the detected value exceeds a threshold value, a pressure reducing mechanism for the backup tank is provided. And a control device to be operated.
As a result, it is possible to quickly detect an operation stop due to a failure of the refrigerator, and to start the cooling operation using the backup tank without delay. Therefore, there is no possibility of interrupting the cooling of the superconducting cable.
As one aspect of the present invention, in addition to the above configuration, an alarm device is further provided that issues an alarm when the detected value of the temperature sensor exceeds a threshold value. The detected value of the temperature sensor is input, and the detected value exceeds the threshold value. The alarm device can be activated by the control device. As a result, it is possible to promptly notify the manager of the cooling system of the abnormality of the refrigerator.
As one aspect of the present invention, the backup tank and the heat exchanger are arranged at the same height level or higher, and the liquid refrigerant is naturally circulated in the liquid refrigerant circulation path. That is, the backup tank is arranged at the same height level or higher with respect to the heat exchanger. In this case, the case where the level of the liquid refrigerant formed in the backup tank is equal to or higher than the heat exchanger is included. This eliminates the need for power for circulating the liquid refrigerant, thus simplifying and reducing the cost of the liquid refrigerant circulation mechanism.
As one embodiment of the present invention, a plurality of backup tanks can be a portable tank that can be detached from the installation surface.
Thereby, when the operation of the refrigerator is stopped, the pressure reducing mechanism of one backup tank in which the liquid refrigerant is circulated to the heat exchanger is operated, and the backup tank depleted in the liquid refrigerant is transported to the liquid refrigerant supply place, After the backup tank is filled with liquid refrigerant at this supply location, it can be transported to the installation location. Therefore, even when the backup tank is provided in a place where there is no space where the tank lorry for transporting the liquid refrigerant can be stopped, the liquid refrigerant can be supplied to the backup tank.
According to the present invention, the cooling operation of the superconducting cable can be continued for a long time while replenishing the liquid refrigerant by providing a plurality of backup tanks in the cooling medium circulation path and switching and using these backup tanks. Further, since each backup tank can be reduced in size, it is possible to reduce the construction cost and the like, and to make it possible to refill the backup tank with liquid refrigerant.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to embodiments shown in the drawings. However, the dimensions, materials, shapes, relative arrangements, and the like of the component parts described in this embodiment are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention to that unless otherwise specified.
(Embodiment 1)
1st Embodiment of this invention is described based on FIGS. In FIG. 1, in the cooling system 10 </ b> A of the present embodiment, a cooling
The
The
The

As shown in FIG. 5, the
At that time, as shown in FIG. 6, first, the
For example, in the range of temperature of the liquid refrigerant r2 in the backup tank (T 1 ~T 2), the temperature as a control parameter to control the opening degree of the
As a result, the temperature of the liquid refrigerant r2 in the backup tank can be quickly controlled.

Next, as described above, a cooling system as an intermediate technique (undisclosed) considered by the present inventors before reaching the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. In the

Other configurations are the same as those in the first embodiment and the second embodiment, and the same components and the same parts are denoted by the same reference numerals.

According to this comparative example, even when the

As described above, the present inventors have reached the present invention for the purpose of further reducing the configuration of the backup tank and the heat exchanger and reducing the cost.
According to the present invention, the cooling of the superconducting cable can be continued for a long time even when the operation of the cooling medium is stopped, and the backup tank can be reduced in size and cost.
