Abstract
Description
凝縮器および機械式攪拌装置を備えた丸底フラスコ内で、窒素雰囲気下で、N−ベンジルエタノールアミン(200.6g)および2−エチルヘキシルグリシジルエーテル(250.0g)が100℃に加熱された。3時間攪拌後、この反応混合物は室温に冷却された。得られたジオール生成物はさらに精製することなく使用された。

増粘された塗料の熱老化安定性が、40.5容積%の顔料容積濃度および38.0容積%の全固形分濃度を有するサテン白配合物において評価された。この配合物は、湿潤塗料配合物の重量を基準にして30.3重量%の湿潤ROVACE(商標)661ビニルアクリルバインダー(ザダウケミカルカンパニーまたはその関連会社の商標)、並びに湿潤塗料配合物の重量を基準にして4.1重量%の湿潤RHOPLEX(商標)SG−10Mアクリルコポリマー(ザダウケミカルカンパニーまたはその関連会社の商標)を含んでいた。ポリ(ビニルアセタート)バインダーを含み、約9の当初pHを有する塗料は、そのアセタート基の加水分解のせいで老化の際にpHが低下することが知られている。約9の当初塗料pHは、その塗料のコロイドおよび殺生物安定性を助けることができる。塗料pHは典型的には老化の際にpH=約7まで低下し、その際に加水分解の速度が劇的に遅くなる。加熱老化は典型的には、実験室での試験において、塗料の老化の影響を加速させるために使用される。老化の際の粘度の著しい低下は望ましくはない。表1は熱老化安定性検討の結果を示す。
