Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a vibration element, a vibrator, an oscillator, and an electronic device.
In recent years, as a vibration element of a small-sized piezoelectric oscillator that oscillates at a high frequency, the vibration mode of the main vibration to be excited is a thickness-shear vibration, and an AT-cut crystal resonator having a cubic curve with excellent frequency temperature characteristics has been used in many electronic devices. Although it is used, there is a demand for a vibrator that can be further reduced in frequency and size. In order to increase the frequency of an AT-cut crystal resonator, it is common to reduce the thickness of the vibration part of the vibration element. However, as the vibration part is made thinner, the excitation electrode formed on the vibration part is also made thinner. Needed to be layered.
However, there are problems such as an increase in conduction resistance by making the excitation conductive layer thinner. On the other hand, in
Also, in
However, as disclosed in the above-mentioned
Accordingly, there are provided a vibration element and a vibrator that can reliably establish electrical connection even when a thick-film extraction electrode is formed on the excitation electrode, and an oscillator and an electronic device that operate reliably.
The present invention can be realized as the following forms or application examples so as to solve at least one of the above-described problems.
Application Example 1 A vibration element according to this application example is integrated with the vibration part, the vibration part, a thicker part thicker than the vibration part, and a single layer disposed on both main surfaces of the vibration part. An excitation electrode made of the above conductive layer, and a lead electrode made of one or more conductive layers disposed in the thick part and electrically connected to the excitation electrode, the excitation electrode and At least one layer of the lead electrode is the same layer.
According to the resonator element of this application example, at least one conductive layer is formed across the lead electrode and the excitation electrode, so that the electrical connection between the lead electrode and the excitation electrode is reliably maintained, and the operation is performed. A vibration element with high reliability can be obtained.
Application Example 2 In the application example described above, the lead electrode is formed by laminating one or more conductive layers on the same layer.
According to the application example described above, the excitation electrode is formed as thin as possible in order to improve the vibration performance of the vibration part, but the loss due to resistance that increases as the film becomes thinner, so-called ohmic cross, increases. By forming the lead electrode that does not contribute to vibration thicker than the excitation electrode, it is possible to reduce the ohmic cross and thereby suppress the deterioration of the CI value.

Furthermore, it is possible to obtain a vibrator in which the ohmic cross is reduced and the deterioration of the CI value is suppressed.
Application Example 4 An oscillator according to this application example includes the above-described vibration element and an oscillation circuit that excites the piezoelectric vibration element.

According to the electronic apparatus of this application example, the resonator in which the electrical connection between the lead electrode and the excitation electrode is reliably maintained, the operation is highly reliable, the ohmic cross is reduced, and the deterioration of the CI value is suppressed. By using, an electronic device with high reliability and stable performance can be obtained.
Embodiments according to the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
図1は、第1実施形態に係る振動素子を示し、(a)は平面図、(b)は(a)に示すA−A´部の断面図、(c)は(a)に示すB−B´部の断面図である。 しかし、振動部11の振動の主面としての他方の面11b(以降、第2振動面11bという)と支持部12の他方の面12c(以降、第2支持面12cという)とは、同一面に形成されている。
(First embodiment)
1A and 1B show a resonator element according to the first embodiment, wherein FIG. 1A is a plan view, FIG. 1B is a cross-sectional view taken along the line AA ′ shown in FIG. 1A, and FIG. It is sectional drawing of a -B 'part. As shown in FIG. 1A, the
The
In the
For example, in the case of an AT-cut quartz substrate, the angle θ is 35.25 ° (35 ° 15 ′). Here, when the Y-axis and the Z-axis are rotated by an angle θ around the X-axis to make the Y′-axis and the Z′-axis, the AT-cut quartz substrate has crystal axes X, Y ′, and Z ′ that are orthogonal to each other. Accordingly, the AT-cut quartz substrate has a Y ′ axis in the thickness direction, a surface including the X axis and the Z ′ axis orthogonal to the Y ′ axis is a main surface, and thickness shear vibration is excited as a main vibration on the main surface. . The
Here, the
A first
The
Similarly, in the

As shown in FIG. 7B, the
The

As shown in FIG. 8B, the
Since the
The
As described above, the
