Abstract
【解決手段】潤滑油組成物は、潤滑性を付与する粘度を有するベースオイルと、4−メチル−2−ペンタノールに由来するアルキル基を75モル%よりも多く含む、1つ以上の金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェートと、潤滑油組成物の合計重量を基準として、アルキルフェノールまたは硫化アルキルフェノールに由来する、約0.1〜約2.0重量%の洗浄剤とを含む。潤滑油組成物中の1つ以上の金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェートの量は、潤滑油組成物の合計重量に基づいて、リンが約0.01〜約0.10重量%の範囲である量である。潤滑油組成物は、約5.0〜約10.0の総全塩基価(TBN)を有する。

Description
エンジン用潤滑油配合物は、特に、広い範囲の性能特性に対処するように設計されている。潤滑油組成物が、特定の性能特性を満たす能力は、潤滑油組成物を配合するのに使用するベースオイルによってかなり変動することがある。例えば、グループIIのベースオイル中に添加剤パッケージを含む潤滑油組成物は、特定のエンジン試験に合格する場合がある。しかしながら、グループIのベースオイル中に同じ添加剤パッケージを含むものは、そのエンジン試験に合格しない場合がある。理想的には、ある添加剤パッケージが、最もグレードの低いベースオイル(例えば、グループIのベースオイル)を用いて、エンジン試験に合格するように設計されている場合、この同じ添加剤パッケージは、もっとグレードが高いベースオイル(例えば、グループII、IIIまたはIVのベースオイル)を用いたエンジン試験に合格するであろうと思われる。
添加剤濃縮物を提供する。添加剤濃縮物は、(i)完全に配合された潤滑油組成物に対し、0.01〜約0.10重量%のリンを付与するのに十分な量で、4−メチル−2−ペンタノールに由来するアルキル基を75モル%よりも多く含む、1つ以上の金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェートを含む。また、添加剤濃縮物には、(ii)アルキルフェノールまたは硫化アルキルフェノールに由来する洗浄剤も含まれ、添加剤濃縮物中の(i)と(ii)との重量比は、約0.1:1〜約12:1の範囲である。添加剤濃縮物は、約5.0〜約10.0の総全塩基価(TBN)を有する潤滑油組成物を与えるのに十分な全塩基価(TBN)を有する。
本明細書で使用される場合、用語「ヒドロカルビル置換基」または「ヒドロカルビル基」は、当業者に周知の通常の意味で使用される。具体的には、分子の残りの部分に直接結合した炭素原子を有し、主に炭化水素の性質を有する基を指す。ヒドロカルビル基の例としては、
(1)炭化水素置換基、すなわち、脂肪族(例えば、アルキルまたはアルケニル)置換基、脂環式(例えば、シクロアルキル、シクロアルケニル)置換基、芳香族、脂肪族、脂環式基で置換された芳香族置換基、および、分子の別の部分によって環が完成する環状置換基(例えば、2個の置換基が一緒になって脂環式基を形成する);
(2)置換された炭化水素置換基、すなわち、本発明の内容において、大部分の炭化水素置換基は変わっていない、非炭化水素基を含有する置換基(例えば、ハロ(特に、クロロおよびフルオロ)、ヒドロキシ、アルコキシ、メルカプト、アルキルメルカプト、ニトロ、ニトロソおよびスルホキシ);
(3)ヘテロ置換基、すなわち、本発明の内容において、主に炭化水素の性質をもちつつ、環に、または炭素原子で構成される他の鎖に炭素以外を含有する置換基が挙げられる。ヘテロ原子としては、硫黄、酸素、窒素が挙げられ、ピリジル、フリル、チエニル、イミダゾリルなどの置換基を包含する。一般的に、2個以下、例えば、1個以下炭化水素以外の置換基が、ヒドロカルビル基の炭素原子10個ごとに存在する場合があり、典型的には、ヒドロカルビル基に、炭化水素以外の置換基が存在しない場合がある。
を示すわけではない。しかしながら、上述の用語は、例えば、油が使用される環境で目的の効果を発揮させるのに十分な程度まで、油に可溶性であるか、安定に分散可能であることを意味する。さらに、他の添加剤をさらに組み込むことによって、所望な場合、より高濃度の特定の添加剤を組み込むことが可能になる場合もある。
実施形態では、4−メチル−2−ペンタノールに由来する1つ以上の金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェート成分(i)の量は、90モル%を超えていてもよく、望ましくは、100モル%である。成分(i)の金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェートは、一般的に、米国特許第7,368,596号に記載されているプロセスなどのプロセスで製造されてもよい。
クランクケース潤滑油組成物を配合する際に使用するのに好適なベースオイルは、任意の好適な合成油または天然油、またはこれらの混合物から選択されてもよい。天然油としては、動物油および植物油(例えば、ヒマシ油、ラード油)、ならびに、潤滑性を付与する鉱物油、例えば、液状の石油、および、溶媒で処理されるか、または酸で処理された、パラフィン系、ナフテン系、またはパラフィン系とナフテン系の混合物である潤滑性を付与する鉱物油を挙げることができる。石炭または頁岩に由来する油も、好適な場合がある。ベースオイルの粘度は、典型的には、100℃で約2〜約15cSt、または、さらなる例として、約2〜約10cStであってもよい。さらに、GTL(gas−to−liquid)プロセスに由来する油も好適である。

本開示の実施形態は、1つ以上の摩擦調整剤を含んでいてもよい。好適な摩擦調整剤は、金属を含有する摩擦調整剤、金属を含まない摩擦調整剤を含んでいてもよく、限定されないが、イミダゾリン、アミド、アミン、スクシンイミド、アルコキシル化アミン、アルコキシル化エーテルアミン、アミンオキシド、アミドアミン、ニトリル、ベタイン、四級アミン、イミン、アミン塩、アミノグアニジン(amino guanadine)、アルカノールアミド、ホスホネート、金属を含有する化合物、グリセロールエステルなどを挙げることができる。
、ジチオホスフィン酸モリブデン、キサントゲン酸モリブデン、チオキサントゲン酸モリブデン、硫化モリブデン、三核有機モリブデン化合物、モリブデン/アミン複合体、およびこれらの混合物からなる群より選択されてもよい。
は少なくとも35個の炭素原子が存在してもよい。好適なさらなるモリブデン化合物は、米国特許第6,723,685号に記載されており、本明細書に参照として組み込まれる。
ある実施形態では、泡抑制剤は、組成物で使用するのに好適な別の成分を形成していてもよい。泡抑制剤は、シリコーン、ポリアクリレートなどから選択されてもよい。本明細書に記載したクランクケース潤滑油配合物中の消泡剤の量は、この配合物の合計重量を基準として、約0.001重量%〜約0.1重量%の範囲であってもよい。さらなる例として、消泡剤は、約0.004重量%〜約0.008重量%の量で存在してもよい。
潤滑油組成物に含まれる分散剤は、限定されないが、分散する粒子と会合可能な官能基を有する、油溶性のポリマー系炭化水素骨格を含んでいてもよい。典型的には、分散剤は、アミン、アルコール、アミドまたはエステル極性部分が、多くは架橋基を介してポリマー骨格に結合したものを含む。分散剤は、米国特許第3,697,574号および第3,736,357号に記載されるようなMannich分散剤;米国特許第4,234,435号および第4,636,322号に記載されるような、灰分を含まないスクシンイミド分散剤;米国特許第3,219,666号、第3,565,804号、第5,633,326号に記載されるようなアミン分散剤;米国特許第5,936,041号、第5,643,859号、第5,627,259に記載されるようなKoch分散剤、米国特許第5,851,965号;第5,853,434号;第5,792,729号に記載されるようなポリアルキレンスクシンイミド分散剤から選択されてもよい。
酸化阻害剤または酸化防止剤は、塩基性商品が、サービス中に、酸化生成物(例えば、金属表面に堆積するスラッジおよびワニス状デポジット)によって、また、最終潤滑油の粘度上昇によって実証可能であるような劣化を起こす傾向を下げる。このような酸化阻害剤としては、嵩高いフェノール、嵩高い硫化フェノール、C5〜C12アルキル側鎖を有するアルキルフェノールチオエステルのアルカリ土類金属塩、硫化アルキルフェノール、硫化アルキルフェノールまたは硫化していないアルキルフェノールの金属塩(例えば、カルシウムノニルフェノールスルフィド)、灰分を含まない油溶性フェネートおよび硫化フェネート、リン化し、硫化した(phosphosulfurized)炭化水素または硫化炭化水素、リンエステル、金属チオカルバメート、および米国特許第4,867,890号に記載されるような油溶性銅化合物が挙げられる。
チルフェノール、4−ウンデシル−2,6−ジ−三級ブチルフェノール、4−ドデシル−2,6−ジ−三級ブチルフェノール、メチレン架橋した立体的に嵩高いフェノール(限定されないが、4,4−メチレンビス(6−tert−ブチル−o−クレゾール)、4,4−メチレンビス(2−tert−アミル−o−クレゾール)、2,2−メチレンビス(4−メチル−6−tert−ブチルフェノール、4,4−メチレン−ビス(2,6−ジ−tert−ブチルフェノール)を含む)、および米国特許公開番号第2004/0266630号に記載されるようなこれらの混合物が挙げられる。

この潤滑油組成物が、前記潤滑油組成物の合計重量を基準として、リンが約0.01〜約0.10重量%の範囲になる量の前記1つ以上の金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェートを含み、この潤滑油組成物が、5.0〜10.0の総全塩基価(TBN)を有する、潤滑油組成物。
2.前記1つ以上のジアルキルジチオホスフェートが、4−メチル−2−ペンタノールに由来する100モル%のアルキル基を有する、上記1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
3.前記潤滑油組成物の合計重量を基準として、約0.2〜約2.0重量%の範囲の量で、過塩基性アルカリ金属または過塩基性アルカリ土類金属の第2の洗浄剤をさらに含む、上記1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
4.前記潤滑油組成物が、アルキルフェノールまたは硫化アルキルフェノールに由来する第1の洗浄剤を、この潤滑油組成物の合計重量に基づいて約0.3〜約0.6重量%含む、上記1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
5.前記ベースオイルが、グループIIのベースオイルを含む、上記1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
6.エンジンデポジットを減らす方法であって、
潤滑性を付与する粘度を有するベースオイルと、有効量の相乗効果を示す添加剤とを含み、この添加剤が、(i)4−メチル−2−ペンタノールに由来するアルキル基を75モル%よりも多く含む、1つ以上の金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェートと、(ii)潤滑油組成物の合計重量を基準として、アルキルフェノールまたは硫化アルキルフェノールに由来する、約0.1〜約2.0重量%の洗浄剤とを含み、潤滑油組成物が、5.0〜10.0の総全塩基価(TBN)を有するような潤滑油組成物を配合することと;
前記潤滑油組成物上でエンジンを操作することとを含む、方法。
7.前記1つ以上のジアルキルジチオホスフェートが、4−メチル−2−ペンタノールに由来する100モル%のアルキル基を有する、上記6に記載の方法。
8.前記潤滑油組成物中の金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェートの量が、この潤滑油組成物の合計重量に基づいて、リンが約0.01〜約0.10重量%の範囲である量である、上記6に記載の方法。
9.前記エンジンが内燃機関を備える、上記6に記載の方法。
10.前記潤滑油組成物が、アルキルフェノールまたは硫化アルキルフェノールに由来する前記洗浄剤を、この潤滑油組成物の合計重量に基づいて約0.3〜約0.6重量%含む、上記6に記載の方法。
11.前記ベースオイルが、グループIのベースオイルを含む、上記6に記載の方法。
12.前記潤滑油組成物中の、相乗効果を示す添加剤の量が、IIIGエンジン試験に合格するのに十分な量である、上記6に記載の方法。
13.前記潤滑油組成物が、前記潤滑油組成物の合計重量を基準として、過塩基性アルカリ金属スルホネートまたは過塩基性アルカリ土類金属スルホネートを約0.2〜約2.0重量%の範囲の量で含む、上記6に記載の方法。
14.潤滑性を付与する油組成物のための、相乗効果を示す添加剤濃縮物であって、
(i)完全に配合された潤滑油組成物に対し、0.01〜約0.1重量%のリンを付与するのに十分な量で、4−メチル−2−ペンタノールに由来するアルキル基を75モル%よりも多く含む、1つ以上の金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェートと;
(ii)アルキルフェノールまたは硫化アルキルフェノールに由来する洗浄剤とを含み
、
この添加剤濃縮物中の(i)と(ii)との重量比が、約0.1:1〜約12:1の範囲である、添加剤濃縮物。
15.前記1つ以上のジアルキルジチオホスフェートが、4−メチル−2−ペンタノールに由来する100モル%のアルキル基を有する、上記14に記載の添加剤濃縮物。
16.完全に配合された潤滑油組成物の合計重量を基準として、過塩基性アルカリ金属スルホネートまたは過塩基性アルカリ土類金属スルホネートを約0.2〜約2.0重量%の範囲の量でさらに含み、過塩基性スルホネートの量が、約6.0〜約8.5の範囲のTBNを有する完全に配合された潤滑油組成物を与えるのに十分な量である、上記14に記載の添加剤濃縮物。
17.前記添加剤濃縮物中の(i)と(ii)との重量比が、約2.0:1〜約3:1の範囲である、上記14に記載の添加剤濃縮物。
Claims (10)
- エンジンを潤滑に動かすための潤滑油組成物であって、
潤滑性を付与する粘度を有するベースオイルと;
4−メチル−2−ペンタノールに由来するアルキル基を75モル%よりも多く含む、1つ以上の金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェートと;
前記潤滑油組成物の合計重量を基準として、アルキルフェノールまたは硫化アルキルフェノールに由来する、約0.1〜約2.0重量%の第1の洗浄剤とを含み、
この潤滑油組成物が、前記潤滑油組成物の合計重量を基準として、リンが約0.01〜約0.10重量%の範囲になる量の前記1つ以上の金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェートを含み、この潤滑油組成物が、5.0〜10.0の総全塩基価(TBN)を有する、潤滑油組成物。 - 前記1つ以上のジアルキルジチオホスフェートが、4−メチル−2−ペンタノールに由来する100モル%のアルキル基を有する、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記潤滑油組成物の合計重量を基準として、約0.2〜約2.0重量%の範囲の量で、過塩基性アルカリ金属または過塩基性アルカリ土類金属の第2の洗浄剤をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記潤滑油組成物が、アルキルフェノールまたは硫化アルキルフェノールに由来する第1の洗浄剤を、この潤滑油組成物の合計重量に基づいて約0.3〜約0.6重量%含む、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- エンジンデポジットを減らす方法であって、

前記潤滑油組成物上でエンジンを操作することとを含む、方法。 - 前記潤滑油組成物中の金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェートの量が、この潤滑油組成物の合計重量に基づいて、リンが約0.01〜約0.10重量%の範囲である量である、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記潤滑油組成物が、アルキルフェノールまたは硫化アルキルフェノールに由来する前記洗浄剤を、この潤滑油組成物の合計重量に基づいて約0.3〜約0.6重量%含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記潤滑油組成物中の、相乗効果を示す添加剤の量が、IIIGエンジン試験に合格するのに十分な量である、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 潤滑性を付与する油組成物のための、相乗効果を示す添加剤濃縮物であって、
(i)完全に配合された潤滑油組成物に対し、0.01〜約0.1重量%のリンを付与するのに十分な量で、4−メチル−2−ペンタノールに由来するアルキル基を75モル%よりも多く含む、1つ以上の金属ジアルキルジチオホスフェートと;
(ii)アルキルフェノールまたは硫化アルキルフェノールに由来する洗浄剤とを含み、
この添加剤濃縮物中の(i)と(ii)との重量比が、約0.1:1〜約12:1の範囲である、添加剤濃縮物。 - 前記添加剤濃縮物中の(i)と(ii)との重量比が、約2.0:1〜約3:1の範囲である、請求項9に記載の添加剤濃縮物。
