Abstract
【解決手段】トマト雑種HNX12860544およびその親系統の種子および植物。該トマト雑種HNX12860544およびその親系統の植物、種子および組織培養物、ならびに該植物をそれ自身または別のトマト植物は、別の遺伝子型の植物と交雑することによって得られる新種のトマト植物を生産するために利用される。更に該交雑によって得られる種子および植物、該植物の果実および配偶子を含む該植物の部分の開発にも供される。

Description
本発明は、植物育種の分野に関し、より具体的には、トマト 雑種 HNX12860544 ならびにトマト自殖系統(inbred tomato line) FIR 128-1032 および FIR 128-1037 の作出に関する。
野菜育種の目標は、様々な望ましい形質を単一の品種/雑種の中に結集させることである。かかる望ましい形質は、生産者および/または消費者が有益であると考えるあらゆる形質を含み得、より大きな収量、昆虫または病害に対する抵抗性、環境ストレスに対する耐性、および栄養価が挙げられる。
一つの側面において、本発明は、HNX12860544 と命名した雑種、トマト系統 FIR 128-1032 またはトマト系統 FIR 128-1037 のトマト植物を提供する。かかる植物の全ての生理学的および形態学的特徴を有するトマト植物も提供される。これらトマト植物の部分もまた提供され、例えば、花粉、胚珠、接ぎ穂(scion)、台木、果実、および植物の細胞が挙げられる。
本発明は、トマト雑種 HNX12860544、トマト系統 FIR 128-1032 およびトマト系統 FIR 128-1037 の植物体、種子および派生物(derivative)に関する方法および組成物を提供する。雑種 HNX12860544 は、親系統 FIR 128-1032 と FIR 128-1037 との交雑によって作出される。親系統は、環境の影響の制限内で均一性および安定性を示す。親系統を交雑することによって、均一な種子である雑種 HNX12860544 を得ることができる。
雑種 HNX12860544 の親は、FIR 128-1032 および FIR 128-1037 である。これら親は、以下の通りに作出された:
本発明の一つの側面により、トマト雑種 HNX12860544 およびその親系統の生理学的および形態学的特徴を有する植物が提供される。かかる植物の生理学的および形態学的特徴についての説明を、表 1 から 3 に示す。
本発明の一つの側面は、トマト系統 FIR 128-1032 および FIR 128-1037 を交雑することを含む、トマト雑種 HNX12860544 の種子を生産する方法に関する。あるいは、本発明の他の態様において、雑種 HNX12860544、系統 FIR 128-1032 または系統 FIR 128-1037 は、それ自身と、またはあらゆる第二の植物と交雑し得る。かかる方法は、雑種 HNX12860544 および/またはトマト系統 FIR 128-1032 および FIR 128-1037 の増殖のために用いることができ、または雑種 HNX12860544 および/またはトマト系統 FIR 128-1032 および FIR 128-1037 に由来する植物を作出するために用いることができる。雑種 HNX12860544 および/またはトマト系統 FIR 128-1032 および FIR 128-1037 に由来する植物は、特定の態様において、新規なトマト品種の開発のために用いることができる。

本発明の特定の側面において、少なくとも第一の所望の遺伝形質を含むよう改変された本明細書に記載の植物が提供される。かかる植物は、一つの態様において、戻し交雑と呼ばれる植物育種技術によって開発することができ、戻し交雑技術を介して、植物に導入される遺伝子座に加えて品種の本質的に全ての形態学的および生理学的特徴が回復される。本明細書において用いる、単一遺伝子座変換(single locus converted)植物との用語は、戻し交雑と呼ばれる植物育種技術によって開発され、戻し交雑技術を介して、品種へ導入される該単一遺伝子座に加えて該品種の本質的に全ての形態学的および生理学的特徴が回復されているトマト植物をいう。本質的に全ての形態学的および生理学的特徴とは、同じ環境において比較した場合に、戻し交雑または導入遺伝子の直接導入の間に生じる可能性のある偶然の変異形質以外に存在する植物の特徴が回復されることを意味する。
戻し交雑によっても、直接的にも植物へ導入することができる多くの有用な形質は、遺伝的形質転換技術によって導入される形質である。そのため、遺伝的形質転換は選択された導入遺伝子を本発明の植物へ挿入するために用いることができ、あるいは、戻し交雑によって導入し得る導入遺伝子の調製のために用いることもできる。当業者に周知であり、多くの作物種に適用できる植物の形質転換法としては、これらに限定されないが、エレクトロポレーション、微粒子銃、アグロバクテリウム媒介(Agrobacterium-mediated)形質転換およびプロトプラストによる直接 DNA 取込みが挙げられる。

Claims (37)
- その種子のサンプルがそれぞれ ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9930 および ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9931 の下に寄託されているトマト系統 FIR 128-1032 またはトマト系統 FIR 128-1037 の少なくとも第一のセットの染色体を含むトマト植物。
- その種子のサンプルがそれぞれ ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9930 および ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9931 の下に寄託されているトマト系統 FIR 128-1032 またはトマト系統 FIR 128-1037 の少なくとも第一のセットの染色体を含む種子。
- 自殖系統である、請求項1の植物。
- 雑種である、請求項1の植物。
- 雑種植物が、その種子のサンプルが ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9929 の下に寄託されているトマト雑種 HNX12860544 である、請求項4の植物。
- 植物が、系統 FIR 128-1032 または系統 FIR 128-1037 の植物である、請求項1の植物。
- 請求項1の植物の植物体の部分。
- 葉、胚珠、花粉、果実または細胞としてさらに定義される請求項7の植物体の部分。
- 請求項5のトマト植物の全ての生理学的および形態学的特徴を有するトマト植物。
- 請求項6のトマト植物の全ての生理学的および形態学的特徴を有するトマト植物。
- 請求項1のトマト植物の全ての生理学的および形態学的特徴を有するトマト植物。
- 請求項1の植物の再生可能な細胞の組織培養物。
- 胚、成長点、子葉、花粉、葉、葯、根、根端、雌ずい、花、種子および茎からなる群から選択される植物体の部分からの細胞またはプロトプラストを含む、請求項12の組織培養物。
- 請求項13の組織培養物から再生されるトマト植物。
- 以下の工程を含む、請求項1の植物を栄養的に増殖させる方法:
(a) 増殖することができる組織を請求項1の植物から収集する工程;
(b) 増殖したシュートを得るため、該組織を培養する工程; および
(c) 発根した小植物体を得るため、該増殖したシュートを発根させる工程。 - 該発根した小植物体から少なくとも第一の植物を生育させることをさらに含む、請求項15の方法。
- 以下の工程を含む、所望の形質をトマト系統へ導入する方法:
(a) その種子のサンプルがそれぞれ ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9930 および ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9931 の下に寄託されている系統 FIR 128-1032 または FIR 128-1037 の植物を、所望の形質を含む第二のトマト植物と交雑して、F1 後代を得る工程;
(b) 所望の形質を含む F1 後代を選抜する工程;
(c) 選抜された F1 後代を系統 FIR 128-1032 または FIR 128-1037 の植物と戻し交雑して、戻し交雑後代を得る工程;
(d) 所望の形質ならびにトマト系統 FIR 128-1032 または FIR 128-1037 の生理学的および形態学的特徴を含む戻し交雑後代を選抜する工程; および
(e) 工程(c)および(d)を3回以上繰り返して、所望の形質を含む選抜された第4代以上の戻し交雑後代を得る工程。 - 請求項17の方法によって得られるトマト植物。
- 付加された形質を含む植物を作出する方法であって、該形質を付与する導入遺伝子を、その種子のサンプルがそれぞれ ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9929、ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9930 および ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9931 の下に寄託されている系統 HNX12860544、系統 FIR 128-1032 または系統 FIR 128-1037 の植物へ導入することを含む方法。
- 請求項19の方法によって作出される植物。
- 植物から核酸のサンプルを得る工程および該核酸において複数の多型を検出する工程を含む、請求項1の植物の遺伝子型を決定する方法。
- 該複数の多型の検出結果をコンピューター読み取り可能な媒体上に保存する工程をさらに含む、請求項21の方法。
- 導入遺伝子を含む、請求項1の植物。
- 導入遺伝子が、雄性不稔、除草剤耐性、昆虫抵抗性、有害生物抵抗性、病害抵抗性、改変された脂肪酸代謝、環境ストレス耐性、改変された炭水化物代謝および改変されたタンパク質代謝からなる群から選択される形質を付与する、請求項23の植物。
- 単一遺伝子座変換を含む、請求項1の植物。
- 単一遺伝子座変換が、雄性不稔、除草剤耐性、昆虫抵抗性、有害生物抵抗性、病害抵抗性、改変された脂肪酸代謝、環境ストレス耐性、改変された炭水化物代謝および改変されたタンパク質代謝からなる群から選択される形質を付与する、請求項25の植物。
- 以下の工程を含む、雑種 HNX12860544、系統 FIR 128-1032 または系統 FIR 128-1037 の少なくとも1つに由来する植物の種子を生産する方法:
(a) 雑種系統 HNX12860544、系統 FIR 128-1032 または系統 FIR 128-1037 のトマト植物を、それ自身または第二のトマト植物と交雑する工程; ここで、該雑種および系統の種子のサンプルは、それぞれ ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9929、ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9930 および ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9931 の下に寄託されている; および
(b) 雑種 HNX12860544、系統 FIR 128-1032 または系統 FIR 128-1037 に由来するトマト植物の種子を形成させる工程。 - 以下の工程をさらに含む、請求項27の方法:
(c) 前記雑種 HNX12860544、FIR 128-1032 または FIR 128-1037 に由来するトマト種子から成長した植物を自殖して、雑種 HNX12860544、系統 FIR 128-1032 または系統 FIR 128-1037 に由来するさらなるトマト種子を生産する工程;
(d) 前記工程(c)の雑種 HNX12860544、系統 FIR 128-1032 または系統 FIR 128-1037 に由来するさらなるトマト種子を成長させて、雑種 HNX12860544、系統 FIR 128-1032 または系統 FIR 128-1037 に由来するさらなるトマト植物を生産する工程; および
(e) (c)および(d)の交雑および成長させる工程を繰り返して、少なくとも第一のさらなる雑種 HNX12860544、系統 FIR 128-1032 または系統 FIR 128-1037 に由来するトマト植物を生産する工程。 - 第二のトマト植物が、トマト自殖系統のものである、請求項27の方法。
- 系統 FIR 128-1032 を系統 FIR 128-1037 と交雑する工程を含む請求項27の方法、ここで、該系統の種子のサンプルはそれぞれ ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9930 および ATCC 受入番号 PTA-9931 の下に寄託されている。
- 以下の工程をさらに含む、請求項28の方法:
