本装具は図1〜図4に示す如く、一端に爪を引っ掛けるに適切な大きさのフックを有した金属プレートである。この金属プレートは弾性を有し、爪に沿わせた場合、常に戻ろうとする力が持続的に働く性質をもった金属でできている。その全長は30mmを基本とするが、必要により10mm程度の延伸、短縮は許容される。本装具金属プレートの途中にクロスバーが接合されている。クロスバーは全長が2mm程で、プレートと同種の金属よりなる針金で、直径は0.4mmを基本とするが20%程度の増減はあってもよい。クロスバーの一端は直線で終わり、その反対側は90度に屈曲した構造を有する。この90度の屈曲は限定されるものではなく、±5度程度の変更は許容される。クロスバーはフックの先端より4mmの位置にプレートに直角に溶接され、クロスバー屈曲方向はフックの曲がる方向と同方向である。このとりつけ位置も限定されるものではなく±1mm程度の変更は効果に大差ない。装着実施に当っては、図5、図6の如く、本装具のフック3を爪Aの辺縁に引っ掛け、もう一本の本装具を同様に反対側の爪の辺縁に引っ掛ける。対称的に爪に掛けた2本の本装具のプレート1を、あい対する本装具のクロスバー3の下にはめ込んだ後、あらかじめ通しておいた糸4でクロスバーの部分で両プレートを左右2ヶ所で緊縛し、その左右の糸同士を爪の中央でさらに緊縛する。こうすることで、フックが爪から剥がれることなく固定できる。弾性をもった金属プレートの反発力で持続的に爪に矯正力を加えることができる。 As shown in FIG. 1 to FIG. 4, this brace is a metal plate having a hook of an appropriate size for hooking a claw at one end.
