Abstract
Description
分散燃料;球または棒の形状の核分裂物質が、求められる熱機械的機能及び核分裂生成物の保持を満足する不活性マトリクス内に存在する。これらの球または棒は、二次元コーティングまたは三次元コーティングしたウエハーの形態にすることができる。
粒子燃料;核分裂物質は、熱機械的機能及び核分裂生成物の保持機能を満足する不活性物質でコーティングされた球で形成され、ここではHTR(高温原子炉)内の燃料との共通点に気付くことができる。この種の燃料では、コーティングされた球の集合体がコーティングされたウエハーを形成する。
固溶体燃料;核分裂相は、閉じ込め障壁としての被覆材料を有する層状ペレットの形態のアクチニドの固溶体である。この燃料はペレット状であり、円柱形のシース内に積層される。
a)セラミック核燃料球を、超多孔質物質製のコンテナ内に配置するステップ;
b)少なくとも1つの化学種の化学気相浸透による高密度化のステップ;
c)コンテナを除去するステップ;
球2を超多孔質コンテナ7内に置くステップ;
球2を含むコンテナ7をCVI化学反応装置内に挿入して、球を搭載したコンテナに化学気相浸透を適用するステップ;
コンテナ7を除去するステップ。
Claims (16)
- セラミック核燃料球から核燃料要素を製造する方法において、
a)超多孔質物質製のコンテナ内に前記セラミック核燃料球を配置するステップと;
b)少なくとも1つの化学種の化学気相浸透によって前記セラミック核燃料球を高密度化するステップと;
c)前記コンテナを除去するステップと
を備えていることを特徴とする核燃料要素の製造方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法において、ステップb)中にステップc)を行うことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1または2に記載の方法において、ステップb)が、メチルトリクロロシラン(MTS)型の有機金属前駆体を浸透させて、シリコンカーバイド・マトリクスを得ることを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の方法において、ステップc)中の前記コンテナの除去を、研磨または機械加工によって行うことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法において、ステップb)が、前記コンテナの除去前の15時間の第1高密度化サブステップと、前記コンテナの除去後の15時間の第2高密度化サブステップとを含み、ステップb)を約1000℃の温度で行うことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項の1〜5のいずれかに記載の方法によって得られる核燃料要素。
- 請求項1〜6に記載の核燃料要素において、少なくとも90%の稠密度を有することを特徴とする核燃料要素。
- 請求項6または7に記載の核燃料要素において、前記セラミック核燃料球のすべてがほぼ同じ直径を有することを特徴とする核燃料要素。
- 請求項3に記載の方法によって製造した、請求項6〜8のいずれかに記載の核燃料要素において、前記セラミック核燃料球がシリコンカーバイド・マトリクス内のセラミック製であることを特徴とする核燃料要素。
- 請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の方法を実現するためのコンテナにおいて、前記コンテナが、少なくとも1つの超多孔質物質から生産されることを特徴とするコンテナ。
- 請求項10に記載のコンテナにおいて、前記超多孔質物質が約98%の気孔率を有することを特徴とするコンテナ。
- 請求項10または11に記載のコンテナにおいて、前記多孔質物質がカーボン発泡体であることを特徴とするコンテナ。
- 請求項10〜12のいずれかに記載のコンテナにおいて、高密度化のための化学種に対して抗接着性であるコーティングを含むことを特徴とするコンテナ。
- 請求項10〜13のいずれかに記載のコンテナにおいて、前記コンテナが、円形断面を有する円柱形状であり、その一端に底面を有することを特徴とするコンテナ。
- 請求項10〜14のいずれかに記載のコンテナにおいて、9mm〜11mmの外径、12mm〜14mmの高さ、0.4mm〜1mmの肉厚、及び約1mmの内部深さを有することを特徴とするコンテナ。
- 請求項10〜15のいずれかに記載のコンテナにおいて、マスターモールドによる機械加工によって生産されたことを特徴とするコンテナ。
