Abstract

として与えられ、ここで、PDAは物理的なドット区域を指し、Dtはうすベタの相対濃度を指し、Dsはベタの相対濃度を指し、nは補正係数である。補正係数nは、紙に大いに依存し、約1から約4ほどまで変化することができ、これは観察された有効なハーフトーンドット区域に対して大きな影響を与え得る。この実験式に適用されるコート紙のn値は、一般に約1.5から約1.7までの範囲であり、コーティングなしの紙では、約2.0から約2.7までの範囲となり得る。

Claims (4)
- 媒体上にある画像のノイズ量を減少させることにより画質を改善する画像向上サブシステム
を含み、前記画像向上サブシステムは、
前記媒体上にある前記画像を少なくとも覆う、大量の架橋性樹脂と少量の光開始剤とからなる透明なオーバーコート層を堆積させるためのオーバーコート層堆積システムと、
前記透明のオーバーコート層にエンボス加工して前記媒体上にある前記画像を少なくとも覆うエンボス加工された微細構造のオーバーコート層を形成するためのエンボス加工機と、
前記エンボス加工された微細構造のオーバーコート層を硬化させて前記微細構造のオーバーコート層がノイズ量を減少させるように前記微細構造のオーバーコート層を形成するための硬化ステーションと、
を含む
ことを特徴とする印刷装置。 - 前記微細構造のオーバーコート層はマイクロレンズのアレイを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の印刷装置。
- 前記架橋性樹脂は、アクリル、エポキシ樹脂、ポリエステル、ポリウレタンからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の印刷装置。
- 前記光開始剤は、キノキサリン誘導体、αヒドロキシケトン類、ビスアシルホスフィンオキシド、及び側鎖を有するポリマー光開始剤からなる群から選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の印刷装置。
