Description

The present invention relates to a paint composition that can be used for line marking on natural turf in a stadium, and a drawing method using the paint composition.
Moreover, the coating composition of this invention can be used not only for natural turf in stadiums, but also for painting natural turf and artificial turf.

Natural grass is widely used in stadiums and open spaces. For line marking on these natural turf, a method of spraying powder such as lime or calcium carbonate, a method of sticking a white tape made of synthetic resin with an adhesive, a method of fixing the white tape with a fixture, or The method of applying paint was taken.

However, the method using the white tape cannot be used as a line marking for sports in a stadium. In addition, the method of spraying powders such as lime and calcium carbonate that can be used as a line marking for sports is poor adhesion to the turf, so that the powder is washed away by rain, wind, or human walking. As a result, there was a problem that the constructed line did not last long.

Therefore, a paint-type line marking material that has high adhesion to turf and can be used for sports is demanded, and as such a line marking material, there are Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2.

However, the line marking materials of Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2 have not been sufficiently studied for the influence on lawn growth in long-term use.

When many color pigments such as titanium oxide are used in the paint-type line marking material, a phenomenon that the soil is colored by the line marking material may be observed. In addition, since the color pigment has a smaller particle diameter than the powder used in the line marking method for spraying powders such as lime and calcium carbonate, when repeatedly used, the colored pigment penetrates and aggregates in the soil. There was a case that the drainage was bad. And there was a case where the development of turf was adversely affected by poor drainage.

The inventor comprises titanium oxide as a color pigment, a vinyl acetate resin emulsion (glass transition temperature Tg: 20 ° C.) as an organic film forming component, and an additive of water as a solvent, and has a pigment volume concentration (PVC) of 85. A natural turf (Kentucky Bluegrass) was painted in a line with a paint composition. The coating amount of the coating composition was 50 g / m 2 in terms of solid content. Since the visibility decreased in about one week, the coating composition was applied again to the portion where the coating composition was applied.
As described above, repainting every week was repeated 12 times. And after performing the last coating, it left still for one week and observed the state of the part which coated the said coating composition. As a result, the surface of the soil where the coating composition was applied was white, and the white powdery substance was agglomerated in a thin layer. In addition, the turf of the portion where the paint composition was applied had poor growth and a difference in the density of turf leaves compared to the turf where the paint composition was not applied.

The present invention has been made with attention to the above-described problems.
An object of the present invention is to provide a turf coating composition that has a sufficient hiding property, has little influence on the growth of turf, has excellent adhesion to turf, and can be repeatedly applied.

The turf coating composition of the present invention is a coating composition containing a color pigment, an extender pigment, and an organic film-forming component, having a pigment volume concentration (PVC) of 65 to 90%, and the color pigment and A turf coating composition characterized in that the content ratio to the extender pigment (mass of colored pigment / mass of extender pigment) is 2/2 to 4/2.
The extender pigment used in the turf coating composition preferably has a particle size of 0.5 to 3 μm.

Moreover, the said turf coating composition is used by coating with natural turf at a coating amount of 20 to 130 g / m 2 in terms of solid content.

According to the turf coating composition of the present invention in which the content ratio of PVC and the color pigment to the extender pigment is in the above range, it has sufficient concealment, has little influence on the growth of turf, and adheres to the turf. It is possible to provide a turf coating composition that has excellent properties and can be repeatedly applied.

Moreover, the lawn coating composition excellent in concealment property can be provided by using the extender of the said particle diameter.

In addition, by coating the turf coating composition with the application amount, it is possible to obtain a line marking that is excellent in concealment and does not adversely affect the growth of the turf.

The turf coating composition of the present invention will be described in detail.
The turf coating composition is a coating composition used for drawing a mark such as a line on natural turf. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the influence on the growth of turf by applying the coating composition on the turf, and there is a technical problem not found in general paints.

The turf coating composition of the present invention contains a color pigment, an extender pigment, an organic film-forming component, and a solvent. Furthermore, you may add another additive as needed.

The turf coating composition of the present invention has a pigment volume concentration (PVC) of 65 to 90% (more preferably 65 to 80%), and a content ratio of the color pigment to the extender pigment (of the color pigment). The mass / mass of the extender pigment is 2/2 to 4/2 (more desirably 2.5 / 2 to 3.5 / 2). The PVC is a percentage of the volume of the pigment (the sum of the volume of the color pigment and the volume of the extender pigment) in the total volume of the dry coating film formed by the turf coating composition. It is a thing.

If the PVC is too large, the turf coating composition will not have sufficient adhesion to the turf of the dried coating film, and the dried coating film formed by the turf coating composition will easily peel off from the turf.

On the other hand, if the PVC is too small, turf growth may be adversely affected. The adverse effects on turf development are specifically phenomena in which turf growth is poor and there is a difference in turf leaf density and turf leaf and stem color compared to the surrounding turf. Will occur. When PVC is too small, the growth of turf is adversely affected because the content of the organic film forming component contained in the turf coating composition increases and the air permeability and moisture permeability of the dried coating film decrease. This is probably because the adhesion of the dry paint film to the turf is too strong.
Moreover, when the said PVC is too small, the concealment property of the dry coating film formed with the coating composition for turf may not be enough.
Moreover, if the PVC is 65 to 80%, the turf coating composition has particularly excellent adhesiveness.

Moreover, in the said content ratio, when the ratio of the said color pigment with respect to the said extender pigment is too small, the concealability of the coating film formed with the coating composition for turf is not enough.

Conversely, if the ratio of the color pigment to the extender pigment is too large, when the turf paint composition is repeatedly applied at the same position, the surface of the soil where the turf paint composition was applied There is a case where the phenomenon of being colored with a coloring pigment is observed. If the surface of the soil on which the sign is drawn is colored, it becomes difficult to erase the sign. For example, in a stadium used for multipurpose purposes, a sign constructed for use in one competition must be erased when the stadium is used in another competition. Therefore, such a phenomenon that makes it difficult to delete the sign is not preferable.
Moreover, when the ratio of the said color pigment with respect to the said extender pigment is too large, the drainage of the soil of the part which apply | coated the turf coating composition may worsen, and a bad influence may be seen on turf growth.
In addition, when an inorganic pigment having a large specific gravity (specific gravity of 4.0 or more) such as titanium oxide, yellow lead, zinc white, yellow iron oxide, or bengara is used as the colored pigment, the ratio of the colored pigment to the extender pigment is If it is too large, the colored pigment may settle when the turf coating composition is stored for a long period of time or when the turf coating composition is diluted for painting.

Examples of the color pigment include titanium oxide, yellow lead, zinc white, yellow iron oxide, bengara, carbon black, cadmium red, molybdenum red, chromium yellow, chromium oxide, Prussian blue, cobalt blue and other inorganic pigments, azo pigments, diketo Organic pigments such as pyrrolopyrrole pigments, benzimidazolone pigments, phthalocyanine pigments, quinacridone pigments, isoindoline pigments, isoindolinone pigments, selenium pigments, perylene pigments, perinone pigments, and dioxane pigments can be used.
The particle size of the colored pigment is generally 0.01 to 0.24 μm (“Pigment Handbook” March 10, 1989, excerpted from Seibundo Shinkosha, edited by Japan Pigment Technology Association). is there.

As the extender pigment, talc, clay, kaolin, barita, barium sulfate, barium carbonate, calcium carbonate, silica powder, alumina white, diatomaceous earth, or the like can be used.

Further, as the extender pigment, one having a particle size of 0.5 to 3 μm is preferably used, more preferably one having a particle size of 0.7 to 2.5 μm, and a particle size of 0.8 to 2.0 μm. It is more preferable to use one.
If the particle size is too large, the turf paint composition is applied to the turf when the turf paint composition PVC and the content ratio of the color pigment to the extender pigment are adjusted to the above ranges. The concealment property of the dried coating film obtained in this way may not be sufficient.
On the other hand, if the particle size is too small, the drainage of the soil where the turf coating composition is applied may worsen, and turf growth may be adversely affected.
When the particle size is the above-mentioned size, a turf coating composition that has excellent concealability and does not adversely affect the turf can be obtained.

As the organic film forming component, synthetic resin such as acrylic resin, styrene resin, urethane resin, silicone resin, fluorine resin, epoxy resin, melamine resin, alkyd resin, vinyl chloride resin, vinyl acetate resin, polyester resin, etc. may be used alone or in combination. Synthetic resin emulsion in which polymerized material is dispersed in water, or polyvinyl alcohol, fiber ether, starch, inked alkyd resin, polyacrylic acid (salt), polyacrylamide, aqueous acrylic resin, aqueous polyester resin, aqueous polyamide resin Water-soluble polymers such as aqueous polyurethane resins can be used. Moreover, it is not limited to the above-mentioned thing, What is necessary is just to use the organic film formation component used for a general coating material.

As the solvent, water, organic solvents, alcohols and the like can be used. However, it is preferable that the solvent is water in consideration of the influence on the ecology of the turf and the surrounding environment when painted on natural turf.

As said additive, what is used for a normal coating material can be added suitably. For example, surfactants such as dispersants and wetting agents, thickeners such as methylcellulose, HEC, polyacrylic acid, and bentonite, film forming aids, pH adjusting agents, antifoaming agents, preservatives, and the like can be used.

The solid content of the turf coating composition is preferably 30 to 80% by mass, and more preferably 45 to 65% by mass.
When the solid content is small, when the turf coating composition is stored, the extender pigments and coloring pigments in the turf coating composition settle and aggregate in the turf coating composition, and cannot be redispersed. There is. Further, in order to prevent such aggregation, it is necessary to add a large amount of additives such as dispersants and thickeners to the turf coating composition. A film-forming component may inhibit film formation. When the solid content is small, the bulk of the composition when the amount of the active ingredient (the component of the turf coating composition excluding the solvent) is the same as that of the turf coating composition with a high solid content. It becomes large and difficult to handle during transportation and storage.
On the other hand, when the solid content is large, it is difficult to disperse the extender pigment and the color pigment during the production of the turf coating composition. Further, when the turf coating composition is diluted at the time of application of the turf coating composition, it may not be easy to uniformly mix the turf coating composition and the solvent for dilution.
When the solid content is in the above range, a turf coating composition having excellent stability during storage, easy handling, easy production and easy dilution can be obtained.

When the turf coating composition is applied, the turf coating composition may be used as a stock solution, or the solvent may be added to the stock solution of the turf coating composition for dilution. By diluting the turf coating composition, workability during painting is improved.
The mass of the solvent used for dilution is usually 2 to 3 times the mass of the stock solution of the turf coating composition. If the solid content of the diluted turf coating composition is adjusted to 10 to 30% by mass, the turf coating composition can be easily applied.

The method for applying the turf coating composition may be appropriately selected from the methods for applying ordinary paints. What is necessary is just to paint using the painting equipment and painting equipment used. Alternatively, the turf coating composition and an arbitrary gas may be enclosed in a can to produce a spray can, and spray coating may be performed thereby. Among these coating methods, the turf coating method is preferably spray coating that allows coating without contact with the turf. With spray painting, you can paint without bringing the turf into contact with the painting equipment (painting equipment), so the turf will not be damaged by painting.

Further, the coating amount of the turf coating composition is preferably 20 to 130 g / m 2 , more preferably 30 to 100 g / m 2 in terms of solid content in the turf coating composition. .
If the coating amount is too small, it is difficult to obtain sufficient concealment by the coating film of the turf coating composition.
On the other hand, if the coating amount is too large, the concealment property of the coating film is improved, but the turf growth may be adversely affected. Further, as the coating amount is increased up to a certain amount, the hiding property is improved as the coating amount is increased. However, when the coating amount is exceeded, the hiding property may be hardly improved even if the coating amount is increased.
