Description

The present invention relates to an absorbent article that absorbs liquid and the like and a method of manufacturing the absorbent article.

For example, secretory liquid absorbent articles such as sanitary napkins, panty liners for cages, disposable diapers, and the like have been variously improved in the past in order to improve absorbability and dry feeling. Specifically, the development of materials that enhance the functions required of each component such as a top sheet that contacts the skin side, a back sheet that contacts clothes, and an absorbent body sandwiched between both sheets, and forms of these members Improvements and structural improvements, or combinations thereof have been studied and attempted.

In particular, as for the form of the absorbent body, for example, an absorbent body that is composed of an absorbent core and is divided into three sections on the center and both sides, and the side panels on both sides are folded to one side of the middle panel in the middle to form a core (See Patent Document 1). The absorbent body is overlaid with a liquid-permeable cover to obtain an absorbent article. The absorbent body is folded so that the three panels are equal in width, and in this way, a spring is provided to provide mechanical bending resistance to the absorbent body and resist deformation, collapse, or roping. It is said that power is given.
Also, the absorbent body is formed with a large number of compressed parts that are recessed from the back sheet side and / or the top sheet side so as to be spaced apart from each other so that the thickness of the compressed part is increased by liquid absorption than before liquid absorption. An absorbent article made is disclosed (see Patent Document 2). Specifically, it is a sanitary napkin in which an absorbent material is embossed so that one side of the absorbent body is depressed, and a smooth surface that is not depressed is disposed toward the skin surface side. By adopting the absorbent body in such a form, it is considered that the liquid drawability from the top sheet and the liquid retention near the absorption point are excellent.
JP-A-7-163619 JP 2006-55352 A

However, even a sanitary napkin to which the above-mentioned absorbent body is applied is still not sufficient, and in this type of absorbent article that is usually used by directly applying it to a delicate part of the skin, the feeling of wear is further improved and high absorption is achieved. Further improved development is desired to achieve retention.
In view of the above points, an object of the present invention is to provide an absorbent article that suppresses the spread of excretory fluid and the like, improves the liquid drawing force to the lower layer side, and provides a good wearing space, and a method for manufacturing the same. is there.

The present invention is an absorbent article having a top sheet, a back sheet, and an absorbent body disposed between the two sheets, wherein the absorbent body is disposed on both sides of the absorbent body along the longitudinal direction of the absorbent body. Has a multilayer structure of an upper layer portion and a lower layer portion that are folded and stacked, and the folded edges on both sides in the width direction of the folded absorbent body and the lower layer portion are more than the center portion in the width direction of the upper layer portion. The present invention relates to an absorbent article having a densified compressed region.

Further, the above absorbent article is a method for manufacturing an absorbent article having a top sheet, a back sheet, and an absorbent body disposed between the two sheets. A fluff pulp is stacked on a sheet to form a stacked fiber body, and after compressing by densification along the side area of the stacked fiber body, a portion in the compressed region is formed. Folding as a fold line to one side of the stacked fiber body, an absorption body having the compressed region at the fold line and a fold edge in the vicinity thereof and a fold part extending outward of the stacked fiber body It is preferably manufactured by a method for manufacturing a functional article.

The absorbent article of the present invention has a high liquid drawing force to the lower layer side while suppressing the spread of excretory liquid on the surface sheet side of the absorber, thereby reducing the amount of liquid remaining on the surface sheet and improving the dry feeling. In addition, an excellent operational effect is obtained in that a good wearing feeling can be obtained by the folding structure of the absorber. Moreover, according to the manufacturing method by this invention, said absorbent article can be manufactured stably and efficiently on a continuous conveyance line.

Prior to describing the embodiments of the present invention, definitions of some terms used in the present invention are described below.

First, in the present invention, “densification” refers to compressing a structural member composed of fibers and increasing the fiber density in the region. For example, press working with a pair of rolls or embossing rolls in combination with a flat roll or the like, and embossing with embossing or gear rolls to form irregularities, increasing the density of the irregularities. That is, it is preferable from the viewpoints of flexibility, liquid diffusibility, and the like to increase the density of the entire region including the concave portion and the convex portion. “Fiber density” refers to the fiber mass per unit volume in a predetermined region of the fiber member. The predetermined area at this time is arbitrarily determined by a member or a structure part to be defined.

In the present invention, “lamination” includes not only the lamination of two members in contact with each other but also the interposition of another sheet member or an adhesive between the two members. And in the absorbent article of the present invention, the upper layer part and the lower layer part are laminated, but the lower layer part only needs to be laminated on at least a part of the upper layer part in a plan view, and when taking into account the absorption function of liquid etc. In addition, it is preferable to laminate at the central portion in the absorber width direction. The same applies to the lower layer intermediate layer and the lower layer back side layer.

The present invention will be described below based on embodiments and specific examples, but the present invention should not be construed as being limited thereto.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a sanitary napkin according to a preferred embodiment (Embodiment 1) of the present invention, partially broken away. 2A is an enlarged cross-sectional view taken along line II-II in FIG. 1, and FIG. 2B is an enlarged view of portion A in FIG. 2A. The contact state of each layer is shown. The sanitary napkin 10 according to the first embodiment includes an absorbent body 1 composed of a pulp pile and a fiber sheet (not shown), and a liquid-permeable surface sheet 2 that surrounds the absorbent body 1 so as to sandwich the absorbent body 1. And the back sheet 3 and the side sheet | seat 4 affixed on these both edges so that both the edges along the longitudinal direction of the absorber 1 may be wound are comprised. In addition, the said pulp pile fiber body may be wrapped so that it may be pinched | interposed with the said fiber sheet.

The surface sheet 2 forms a surface in contact with the skin side when the sanitary napkin 10 that is an absorbent article is used. The sanitary napkin 10 extends long from the front side to the back side of the user, and this direction is referred to herein as the longitudinal direction (Y direction). On the other hand, the direction crossing this is defined as the width direction (X direction) of the sanitary napkin 10. The longitudinal direction (Y direction) of the absorbent body 1 is the same direction as the longitudinal direction (Y direction) of the sanitary napkin 10. The back sheet 3 forms a surface in contact with clothes (underwear) when the sanitary napkin 10 is used. In the longitudinal direction, the top sheet 2, the back sheet 3, and the side sheet 4 are formed to have substantially the same length, but are slightly longer than the length of the absorber 1. Moreover, the side part along the longitudinal direction so as to define the lateral width of the absorbent body 1 is referred to as an edge of the absorbent body 1 or a folded edge part. In the following description, for the purpose of explanation, the surface on the top sheet side of the absorber 1 is the surface or top surface of the absorber 1 or the upper surface, and the surface on the back sheet side of the absorber 1 is the back surface of the absorber 1. Or it may be called a lower surface or a lower surface. The surface in contact with the underwear of the back sheet 3 is given adhesiveness, and is thereby fixed to the underwear during use.

As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the top sheet 2 partially extends over a part of the back surface of the absorbent body 1 so as to wrap around the outside of the side sheet 4 and wrap both edges from the front surface of the absorbent body 1. Exist. The back sheet 3 is attached to the back surface of the absorber 1 so as to cover the top sheet 2 partially extending to the back surface of the absorber 1. The back sheet 3 has a width substantially equal to the width of the absorber 1.

Hot melt adhesive in which both sheets 2 and 3 are applied linearly in the longitudinal direction of the sanitary napkin 10 so that the absorbent body 1 is securely held between the top sheet 2 and the back sheet 3 together with the side sheets 4. It is joined by the agent. The method of applying the hot melt adhesive is not particularly limited, but in addition to the bead method of applying in a linear manner, the application area is reduced or flexibility after application such as spiral method, slot spray method, etc. A method that can be applied in a small amount without loss is preferred. Further, the top sheet 2 and the back sheet 3 are joined together with the side sheet 4 by heat sealing, an adhesive or the like so as to form an end seal 12 at the longitudinal end of the sanitary napkin 10.

Although the detailed structure of the absorbent body 1 will be described later, in the first embodiment, the absorbent body 1 has a three-layer structure, which has flexibility and cushioning as a whole, and has a thickness and absorption that provide a feeling of fit and security. Balance with sex is secured.

Referring to FIG. 2, the absorbent body 1 is a laminate of an upper layer portion 1 a located on the skin side of the wearer via the top sheet 2 and a lower layer portion 1 b on the underwear side of the wearer via the back sheet 3. The lower layer portion 1b is further folded from the right side of the drawing and overlapped on the back surface of the upper layer portion 1a. And a lower layer rear surface side layer (left lower layer part) 1d. That is, the lower layer intermediate layer 1c is connected to the upper layer portion 1a at one edge portion 1s along the longitudinal direction of the absorber 1 (right side), and the lower layer rear surface side layer 1d is the other portion (left side) along the longitudinal direction of the absorber 1. The left and right edge portions 1s are connected to the upper layer portion 1a (this right / left distinction is not fixed and it is needless to say that it is switched depending on the viewing direction). More specifically, one side portion 1C of one rectangular flat plate absorbent body 11 as shown in FIG. 3 is folded so as to overlap the central portion 1A of the rectangular flat plate absorbent body 11 at the position of the folding line e. The other side portion 1D of the rectangular flat plate-shaped absorbent body 11 is folded at the position of the fold line f so as to overlap the folded side portion 1C to form the absorbent body 1 of the absorbent article shown in FIG. . Here, the edge 1s refers to a bent or bent side portion of the folded absorbent body, while the central portion 1t refers to a central portion of the folded absorbent body other than the side portion 1s. The sections of these two parts (1s, 1t) are not limited and may be determined functionally. In FIG. 2, both the above parts are schematically indicated by curly brackets, but this indicates a regional division of the absorber 1.
In the present embodiment, a groove 7 is formed in the embossed portion (embossed portion 5) of the lower layer intermediate layer 1c and the lower layer back side layer 1d of the absorber, and the upper layer portion 1a of the absorber. And the lower layer intermediate layer 1c are laminated so as to be separated in the cross-sectional direction at the portion of the concave groove 7. Further, the lower layer intermediate layer 1c and the lower layer back side layer 1d are also laminated so as to be separated in the cross-sectional direction at the concave groove portions 7 of both layers.

Next, the rectangular flat-plate-shaped absorber 11 and the embossed part 5 formed in this absorber 11 in Embodiment 1 are demonstrated with reference to FIGS.
The rectangular flat absorbent body 11 is formed of a pulp piled body having a substantially uniform basis weight piled on a fiber sheet (not shown) such as paper or a nonwoven fabric. The central portion 1A corresponding to the upper layer portion 1a of the absorbent body 1 has a thickness that is not thin relative to both side portions 1D and 1C having a high-density compressed region Q, which will be described later. Maintained. At this time, the thickness of the left side portion 1D is slightly thinner than that of the right side portion 1C, and these side portions 1C and 1D are respectively lower layer intermediate layers (right lower layer portions) of the absorber 1. 1c and the lower layer back side layer (left lower layer) 1d. Further, the central portion 1A and the side portions 1C and 1D have the same basis weight. Thus, in the sanitary napkin of this embodiment, since the upper layer part 1a (center part 1A) distribute | arranged to the skin side maintains sufficient thickness according to the basic weight of the pulp fiber, it is fluffy. Soft skin contact is realized.

In Embodiment 1 of this invention, the compression area | region Q has the embossed part 5 and the non-embossed part 6 which is not made embossing, and is densified and densified. The embossed part 5 is a high-density part, and the non-embossed part 6 is a non-high-density part. In the first embodiment of the present invention, the embossed part 5 as a whole has a high density. The embossed part 5 formed in the rectangular plate-shaped absorbent body 11 is a concave groove 7, which is a linear embossed part 5 in which high pressing parts 5 a and low pressing parts 5 b are alternately arranged, and left and right side portions. The linear embossed portions 5 of 1C and 1D are formed at different pitches in the width direction (X direction). Specifically, the linear embossed portion 5 of one (left side) side portion 1D is formed with ten linear embossed portions 5 having a dense pitch, and the other (right side) side portion 1C line. The linear embossed portion 5 is formed with eight linear embossed portions 5 having a coarser pitch than the side portion 1D. The embossed part 5 is not formed in the central part (the part which is folded and becomes the central part 1t of the absorber upper layer) excluding the vicinity of the folding lines e and f in the rectangular flat absorbent body 11. The non-embossed portion 6 may be thinner and higher in density due to the formation of the embossed portion 5, but is thicker and lower in density than the low-pressure squeezed portion 5 b of the embossed portion 5. This is called the embossed part.

Thus, the upper layer portion 1a and the lower layer intermediate layer are folded by folding the side portions 1C and 1D of the rectangular plate-like absorbent body 11 having the embossed portions 5 having different pitches so as to overlap the central portion 1A on the side without the fiber sheet. The absorber 1 has a three-layer structure of 1c and a lower layer back side layer 1d, and a density gradient is formed from the upper layer 1a to the lower layer 1b. Specifically, the density of the lower layer back side layer 1d is higher than the density of the lower layer intermediate layer 1c, the upper layer 1a without the embossed portion is low density, the lower layer intermediate layer 1c is medium density, and the lower layer back side layer 1d. Have a high density gradient. Thus, since the density of the absorber 1 increases as it goes to the lower layer as a whole, the liquid drawing property to the lower layer side is high even if the amount of liquid on the upper layer surface is small to large, and a good dry feeling is obtained. It is done.

Here, as means for adjusting the density such as high density, medium density, and low density, for example, the density can be adjusted by changing the arrangement density of the embossed portions 5. In the example of the first embodiment, the embossed portions 5 of the side portions 1C are densely arranged, so that the thickness is reduced and the embossed region as a whole has a high density. In addition, the pitch of the embossed part 5 can be made the same, and the embossed part 5 can be made high in area by increasing the depth of the embossed part 5 or increasing the size (the width of the embossed part). In this way, the density of the predetermined region in the lower layer can be adjusted by the arrangement pitch, depth, or size of the embossed portions 5.
The thickness of the absorber may be controlled when forming the compression region Q, and the side portions 1C and 1D may be subjected to embossing to increase the density of the unevenness after the entire thickness is reduced. .

Since the side portions 1C and 1D are bent downward in the same direction as the direction in which the embossed portion 5 extends at the embossed position (the positions of the folding lines e and f) close to the central portion 1A, the folding is performed extremely smoothly. Moreover, liquid leakage in the lateral width direction of the absorber is prevented by the embossed portion 5 at the edge of the absorber hitting the bent portion. Further, since the central portion 1A of the rectangular plate-shaped absorber 11 is thicker than the side portions 1C and 1D, when the side portions 1C and 1D are bent, the inside of the bent portion, that is, the absorber 1 is formed. A cavity portion 9 (FIG. 2) is formed inside the folding edge of the body, and the cushioning property by the absorbent body edge portion 1s is ensured by the cavity portion 9 and the curved form of the folding edge portion. Good followability to the movement is obtained, and there is no sense of incongruity.

The width of the region near the fold lines e and f in FIG. 3 corresponds to the curved length of the fold edge 1 s of the absorber 1. Therefore, in the absorbent article of the present invention, at least the folding edge and the lower layer of the absorbent body are densified, but the size of the compressed region densified at the lower layer is not particularly limited. However, for example, when the portion of the compression region Q (see FIG. 3) on the side of the rectangular plate-shaped absorbent body 11 before being folded is folded into the absorbent body 1 of the absorbent article, the lower layer portion 1b of the absorbent body 1 It is preferable that the compression region is substantially evenly disposed in a region (central portion 1A) corresponding to the entire width of the upper layer portion 1a. The size of the compression region Q in the longitudinal direction (Y direction) is not particularly limited. However, the compression region Q is disposed in a region including at least the central portion in the longitudinal direction of the absorber as in the present embodiment, or extends in the entire longitudinal direction. It is preferable to arrange in.

In the absorbent article of the present invention, the “densification rate” or “embossing rate” from the folded edge portion to the lower layer portion of the absorbent body is not particularly limited. In the compressed region, it is preferably 10 to 70%, more preferably 30 to 50%. Here, the “densification rate” or the “embossing rate” refers to the “densified part in the compression region Q (included in the area S of the entire compression region Q of the densified member ( The ratio (Σa / S) of the sum of the areas a of the “densified part” or “embossed part”.

As shown in FIGS. 3, 4, and 5, the linear embossed portion 5 of the absorbent body 1 according to the first embodiment includes alternating low-pressure parts 5 b having shallow depths and high-pressure parts 5 a having deeper depths. Further, the length Ra of the shallow pressing portion 5b is slightly longer than the length Rb of the deep pressing portion 5a. However, this difference in length is not necessarily essential in the present invention, and the lengths of both may be the same. The linear embossed portion 5 extends in the longitudinal direction of the sanitary napkin 10, and the longitudinal direction of the linear embossed portion 5 is the same as the longitudinal direction (Y direction) of the sanitary napkin.

As clearly shown in FIG. 3, both end portions of the rectangular plate-like absorbent body 11 in the longitudinal direction (Y direction) of the sanitary napkin of the linear embossed portion 5 are non-embossed portions that are not embossed. Further, in the width direction (X direction) with respect to the longitudinal direction, the number of the linear embossed portions 5 in the vicinity portion including the fold line e and the vicinity portion including the fold line f is the same. However, this configuration is not necessarily essential in the present invention, and the number of linear embossed portions near the folding lines e and f may be slightly different.

The lateral width (groove width) Rc of the compressed portion of the linear embossed portion 5 in the rectangular plate-shaped absorbent body 11 is equal between the side portion 1D having a larger emboss number and the side portion 1C having a smaller embossed number. And in these both side parts 1C and 1D, the width | variety of the intermediate part of the linear embossed part 5, ie, the width length Rd of the non-embossed part 6 which is not embossed, is the width of the pressing part of the linear embossed part 5 ( The groove width is somewhat longer than Rc (FIG. 4).

In the case of the linear embossed portion, the width and length may be appropriately set depending on the type of the absorbent article and the like, and are not particularly limited. For example, regarding a general sanitary napkin, the width Rc of the embossed portion is preferably 1 to 10 mm, and the length is preferably 3 to 8 mm. Moreover, it is preferable to make the space | interval (emboss width direction pitch, Rc + Rd, FIG. 4) of the width direction of an embossed part into the range of 1-5 mm. The basis weight of the front and rear portions between the front and rear or embossing of the bent portion of the absorbent body is preferably set to 50 to 200 g / m 2. As embossing form, in addition to linear embossing, circular / triangular shaped compressed parts are continuous in the longitudinal direction and are substantially linear, or the compressed parts are long in the longitudinal direction and exhibit a linear behavior, etc. Is mentioned.
In addition, it is possible to increase the density by increasing the embossing depth / increasing the embossing shape / decreasing the embossing pitch. A medium density, a high density and the like can be formed in the lower layer back side layer.

When the absorbent body 1 is configured by folding the both side portions 1C and 1D of the rectangular plate-shaped absorbent body 11 having such a configuration into the central portion 1A, the laminated form in the cross section as shown in the enlarged view of FIG. Become. That is, the upper top portion 6s of the non-embossed portion 6 of the lower layer intermediate layer 1c is in contact with the back surface of the upper layer portion 1a, and the lower top portion 6t of the non-embossed portion 6 of the lower layer intermediate layer 1c is the lower layer back surface side layer 1d. In contact with the upper top 6s. And as above-mentioned in the part of the ditch | groove 7, it is spaced apart without contacting in any of the upper layer or the lower layer.

Here, the liquid on the surface of the upper layer portion 1a is drawn from the inside of the upper layer portion 1a to the inside of the intermediate density intermediate layer 1c through the upper top portion 6s of the lower layer portion intermediate layer 1c, and further has a higher density lower layer portion back side layer 1d. It is strongly pulled in through the lower top 6t of the lower layer intermediate layer 1c and the upper top 6s of the lower back side layer 1d. Thus, since the absorber 1 has a density gradient from the upper layer portion 1a to the lower layer portion 1b, the liquid pulling force works stronger toward the high density lower layer portion 1b, and due to the capillary phenomenon of the lower layer portion 1b, The lower layer portion 1b has higher liquid retention. As a result, the liquid stays less on the surface of the upper layer portion 1a, and the liquid is less likely to flow out from the surface of the upper layer portion 1a to the outer periphery, particularly to the outside in the lateral width direction. Moreover, when there is much absorption amount in the upper layer part 1a, a liquid spread | diffuses to circumference | surroundings and is drawn in from a folding part to a lower layer. Since the folding part has an embossed part, the liquid is moved to the lower layer while diffusing in the longitudinal direction, so that leakage from the side part of the absorber is difficult to occur. In the present embodiment, since the side sheet 4 is provided on the side portion, the liquid held at the folding edge is concealed and leakage prevention is performed. At the same time, the action of the absorber 1 improves the liquid drawing force from the upper layer portion 1a to the lower layer portion 1b, thereby improving the dryness of the surface.

The sanitary napkin of the first embodiment has a compression region by embossing at the edge portions 1s on both sides of the folded absorbent body 1 in the width direction. And its quality stability is high. Furthermore, since the upper layer part 1a maintained softly in the center part 1t is disposed on the skin surface side which is the upper side of the lower layer intermediate layer 1c and the lower layer rear surface side layer 1d which exerts the liquid drawing force, Wearability is improved by flexibly following the undulations of the person's skin.

FIG. 6 is a partially enlarged cross-sectional view showing a sanitary napkin as another preferred embodiment (Embodiment 2) of the present invention with respect to the same portion as FIG. 2 (b). In the second embodiment, the shape and emboss row pitch of the linear embossed portions 5 formed in the lower layer intermediate layer 1c, and the shape and emboss row pitch of the linear embossed portions 5 formed in the lower layer back side layer 1d Are formed in the same pattern. Therefore, the pitch of the non-embossed portions 6 of both layers is formed similarly. The linear embossed portion 5 of the lower layer intermediate layer 1c is formed with a groove 7 formed by the embossed row defined by the embossed row bottom portion 5u and the embossed row slope portion 5v, and the same is applied to the lower layer back side layer 1d. Embossed row grooves 7 defined by the embossed row bottom portion 5u and the embossed row slope portion 5v having the shape and pitch are formed. In the cross-sectional shape of the lower part intermediate layer 1c, the lower part back side layer 1d is overlapped with each other, and the upper part 6s of the lower part back side layer 1d and the concave part of the lower part intermediate layer 1c 7 and the lower top portion 6t of the lower layer intermediate layer 1c and the concave groove 7 of the lower layer back surface side layer 1d are engaged with each other so that the upper and lower top portions of the non-embossed portions are emboss row bottom portions 5u and It abuts on the embossed row slope portion 5t, and the both layers are laminated without a gap.

Thus, by making the embossing patterns of the lower layer intermediate layer (right lower layer portion) 1c and the lower layer lower surface side layer (left lower layer portion) 1d identical, the density of the lower layer intermediate layer 1c and lower layer rear surface side layer 1d is Although approximately the same level, the overlapping of the two layers 1c and 1d increases the contact area between the lower layer intermediate layer 1c and the lower layer back side layer 1d, and stabilizes the liquid drawing force. In addition, due to the uneven engagement of the embossed portion 5 and the non-embossed portion 6 of the lower layer intermediate layer 1c and the lower layer back side layer 1d, it is difficult to cause “twist” or “displacement” in the width direction during use, and the original shape Is maintained for a long time. Also in the second embodiment, the density gradient is generated in the thickness direction from the sparsely dense upper layer portion 1a to the dense lower layer portion 1b, so that the liquid on the surface of the upper layer portion 1a is caused by the capillary phenomenon of the lower layer portion 1b. It is easily pulled to the side, and the liquid retainability in the lower layer portion 1b is ensured. In order to easily exhibit such an effect, the width of the concave groove 7 (embossed portion 5) of the lower layer intermediate layer side layer 1c and the convex portion (non-embossed portion 6) of the lower layer back side layer side layer 1d. It is preferable to change the direction length, that is, to increase the interval between the concave grooves or to shorten the interval between the convex portions.

7 and 8 are a partial plan view showing the shape of a linear embossed portion of a sanitary napkin as still another preferred embodiment (Embodiment 3) of the present invention, and a CC line in FIG. FIG. 6 is an enlarged sectional view taken along the line and corresponding to FIGS. 3 and 5, respectively. Also in the third embodiment, the embossed portion 5 is configured as a linear embossed portion in which a low-pressure squeezed portion 5b having a shallow depth and a high-pressure squeezed portion 5a having a deeper depth are alternately arranged in a line. And, like the first and second embodiments, it is formed so as to cover each folding line f from the front and back surfaces of the lower layer intermediate layer front and back layers and the lower layer back surface side layer. As shown in FIG. 7, the linear embossed portion 5 is not completely continuous in the longitudinal direction, and is divided into a plurality of portions by the non-embossed portion 6 in the midway portion of the embossed portion 5 in the longitudinal direction.

By using the linear embossed portion 5 having such a discontinuous form, the liquid flow along the length direction of the linear embossed portion 5 is blocked by the non-embossed portion 6 in the middle, and liquid leakage due to excessive diffusion is prevented. Thus, appropriate liquid diffusion and liquid holding are performed on the entire lower surface portion.

Next, a preferred embodiment of the method for manufacturing an absorbent article of the present invention will be described with reference to the manufacturing process of FIG. This manufacturing process is roughly divided into a fiber sheet supply roll 36, a fiber opening machine 30, a pulp stacking machine 31, a press machine 32 that performs embossing, a folding device 33, and a cutter 34. Absorbent articles are manufactured automatically and continuously on a series of conveyance lines from supply of raw materials to product removal.

First, the defibrator 30 is supplied with a raw material pulp sheet, defibrated into pulp fibers, and is conveyed to the downstream pulp stacker 31 by air.
On the other hand, a fiber sheet 8 such as a belt-like absorbent paper having liquid permeability is fed out from the fiber sheet supply roll 36 provided on the upstream side of the line and supplied to the pulp stacking machine 31. A pulp stacking fiber layer is formed by the pulp stacking machine 31 to form a continuous plate-shaped absorbent body 110 composed of a pulp stacking fiber body and a fiber sheet that are continuous in a band shape. Reference numeral 38 denotes a suction duct installed on the lower surface of the transport line.

Next, the continuous plate-like absorbent body 110 made of this pulp pile fiber and fiber sheet is sent to a press machine 32, and is formed into a continuous plate shape by upper and lower press rolls, in this case, an upper flat roll 32a and a lower embossing roll 32b. Linear embossed portions as described in FIG. 3 or FIG. 7 are formed on both sides of the absorber 110. Specifically, the side of the laminated pulp layer is a flat roll 32a, and the embossing roll 32b is used on the fiber sheet side. The embossed flat plate-shaped absorber is formed by using a portion of the embossed side of the continuous flat plate-shaped absorber 110 by the folding roller 33a and the folding plate 33b of the subsequent folding device 33 as a fold. In this example, the sheet is folded upward so as to overlap the upper surface of the central portion of the continuous plate-like absorber 110. In this state, a continuous absorber in a band shape is formed, and the lower surface side becomes the upper layer portion described in FIG. 1, and the upper surface side becomes the lower layer portion having the embossed portion. Then, it cut | disconnects by predetermined length dimension with the cutter 34, and becomes the absorber 1, the side sheet | seat 4 (FIG. 1) is adhere | attached on the both sides, and also the surface sheet 2 is adhere | attached on the absorber 1 with the surface sheet roll 41. And the back surface sheet 3 is adhere | attached with the back surface sheet roll 42, and both sheets 2 and 3 are joined via an absorber, and the absorbent article 10 which concerns on this invention is obtained.

In addition, although partially overlapping with the above, if the folding process of the flat absorbent body is described in more detail, the flat absorbent body embossed by the preceding press machine 32 is paired by the transport belt mechanism 50 in the front stage of the folding apparatus. It is sent to the creasing roller 33a. The creasing roller 33a is pivotally supported at intervals corresponding to the positions of the folding lines e and f of the rectangular plate-shaped absorbent body 11 shown in FIG. 3, and can be folded and shaped stably. And it is rotationally driven by the drive device which is not shown in figure, and forms a crease | fold in a flat absorbent body in the periphery of the crease forming roller 33a. On the rear stage side of the creasing roller 33a, the sheet is sent to a folding plate 33b in which both side portions of the bottom plate are bent upward. Both side portions of the plate-like absorber are fed while being restrained from the side plate of the plate 33b to the upper plate, and cooperate with this feeding operation so that both sides overlap the central portion of the plate-like absorber at the fold portion. It is folded and sent to the next process.

It is also possible to fold only one of the left and right sides of the absorber without overlapping and to form a two-layer structure of the upper layer portion and the lower layer portion as a whole with the lower layer portion as one layer. Also in the case of a three-layer structure, the compression region may be formed in either the lower layer intermediate layer or the lower layer back side layer, or the compression region may be formed in the upper layer portion.

(Example 1: Specimen 1)
The specific specifications of the sanitary napkin obtained by the present invention and the test results of its liquid absorbency will be described in comparison with the conventional products.
First, the sanitary napkin (test body 1) shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 was manufactured by the manufacturing process shown in FIG. At this time, a 2.2 dtex fiber having a core / sheath structure of polyethylene and polyester as a top sheet was made into a web by the card method, and then a non-woven fabric made into a non-woven fabric by the air-through method was used. A polyethylene film was used as the back sheet. Fiber sheet wrapping pulp stacks uses absorbent paper of 16g / m 2, as the pulp fibers to be charged to the fiberizer, using NB416L, obtained from Uehauza. The dimensions of the manufactured sanitary napkin were about 205 mm in the longitudinal direction (Y direction) and 70 mm in the width direction (X direction). The basis weight of the top sheet was 25 g / m 2 , and the basis weight of the back sheet was 20 g / m 2 .

The folded absorbent body was 175 mm in length (Y direction) and 68 mm in width (X direction). The thickness of the entire absorber is 5.0 mm, the thickness of the upper layer is about 2.5 mm, the thickness of the lower layer intermediate layer is about 1.5 mm, and the thickness of the lower layer back side layer The thickness was about 1 mm. The basis weight of the upper layer portion was 80 g / m 2 , the basis weights of the lower layer intermediate layer and the lower layer back side layer were 80 g / m 2 , respectively, and the basis weight of the entire absorbent body was 240 g / m 2 . The lower layer intermediate layer and the lower layer back side layer constituting the lower layer were laminated over the entire width direction central portion 1A of the upper layer.

As shown in FIG. 3, the rectangular plate-shaped absorber 11 includes eight pieces from the vicinity of the folding line e corresponding to the folding edge 1 s of the absorber 1 to the lower layer intermediate layer (right lower layer) 1 c side. Linear embossing was applied, and 10 linear embossings were applied from the portion near the folding line f to the lower layer back side layer (left lower layer) 1d side. The length Re (see FIG. 3) of one linear emboss is about 120 mm, the width Rc (see FIG. 4) is about 2 mm, and the length Rb (see FIG. 3) of the high pressure portion is about 1 mm. there were. The length Ra (see FIG. 3) of the low-pressure portion was about 1.5 mm. The width Rd (see FIG. 4) of the non-embossed portion is different between the lower layer intermediate layer and the lower layer back side layer, the lower layer intermediate layer width Rd is about 5 mm, and the lower layer back side layer width Rd is about 2 mm. Met. The embossing rate of the lower layer intermediate layer at this time was about 35%, and the embossing rate of the lower layer back side layer was about 55%.

The absorber was prepared as follows. As shown in FIG. 3, pulp fibers were deposited on a fiber sheet to form a pulp pile, and a linear embossed portion was formed by a press. In the press machine, the side of the piled fiber body on which the fibers were stacked was a flat roll, and an embossing roll was used on the fiber sheet side. After embossing, the both sides of the fiber sheet and the pulp pile were folded by the crease roller and folding plate 33b, and the side parts were folded so as to overlap the upper surface of the central part, thereby creating an absorbent body.

[Absorber thickness measurement method]
The absorbent body is taken out from the manufactured sanitary napkin, and a 3 cm × 3 cm plate is placed on the portion where the upper layer portion, the lower layer intermediate layer, and the lower layer back side layer overlap, and made by Peacock under a load of 2.5 g / cm 2 . The thickness was measured with a desktop thickness gauge.
Next, the folded absorbent body is opened, and the thickness of each of the upper layer portion, the lower layer intermediate layer, and the lower layer back side layer is similarly placed on a 3 cm × 3 cm plate, and a peacock under a load of 2.5 g / cm 2. It was measured with a tabletop thickness gauge. In addition, the upper layer part, the lower layer part intermediate | middle layer, and the lower layer part back surface side layer are comprised by the 1 layer of absorbent paper and the pulp fiber.
[Emboss width measurement method]
The absorbent body was taken out from the manufactured sanitary napkin, and the width of the linear emboss was measured with a ruler. Each linear embossing represents the value obtained by measuring and averaging the widths of the front, center and rear in the longitudinal direction (Y direction) of the sanitary napkin as the emboss width.

(Comparative Example 1: Specimen c1)
For the test body 1, a single-layer absorber having a length of 180 mm, a width of 70 mm, a thickness of 5.8 mm, and a basis weight of 240 g / m 2 was used, and the linear embossing was not performed without folding the absorber. A sanitary napkin (test body c1) was produced in the same manner except that it was not provided.

(Comparative Example 2: Specimen c2)
Comparative Example 1 except that point embossment having a size (area) of one point of 1 mm 2 was provided on the entire surface of the absorbent body at a substantially equal interval (10 mm vertical and horizontal intervals in a rhombus pattern). In the same manner as in Example 1, a sanitary napkin (test body c2) was produced. The thickness of the absorber was 4.9 mm.

(Comparative Example 3: Specimen c3)
In the absorbent body of Comparative Example 1, linear embosses having an emboss width Rc of 2 mm and an emboss interval Rd of 5 mm were intermittently arranged at a central portion in the longitudinal direction with a length of 150 mm. The thickness of the absorber was 2.8 mm. Other than that was carried out similarly to the comparative example 1, and manufactured the sanitary napkin (test body c3).

3 g of equine blood was dropped approximately at the center of the prepared sanitary napkin (each test specimen) on the surface sheet side, and after about 1 minute, “surface liquid remaining amount” and “surface side leakage spread area” were measured. The results are shown in Table 1 below.
[Measurement and calculation of remaining amount of surface liquid]
The test body about 1 minute after dropping the horse blood was disassembled, and a surface sheet including a portion where the horse blood was dropped was cut out and the mass (Wf) was measured. On the other hand, the mass (Wi) of the surface sheet of the same area where horse blood is not dripped is measured in advance, the mass difference (Wf-Wi) before and after the drip is determined, and this is defined as the remaining liquid amount. The smaller the remaining amount of liquid, the better. If this value is 25 mmg or less, satisfaction can be obtained at a practically high level.
[Measuring / Calculating Means for Surface-side Liquid Spread Area]
About 1 minute after dropping the horse blood, the test specimen was image-analyzed (manufactured by nexus, image analysis software NEW QUABE (ver. 4.20) (trade name)) light source (Sunlight SL- 230K2; mm / F2.8D Nikkor lens), CCD camera [(HV-37; manufactured by Hitachi Electronics Co., Ltd.) F lens mount] and video board [Spectra 3200; manufactured by Canopus Co., Ltd.] The area of the portion stained with horse blood was calculated from the photographed image by binarization processing. The smaller the leakage liquid spreading area, the better. If this value is 11 mm 2 or less, satisfaction can be obtained at a practically high level.

As can be seen from the results in Table 1 above, the sanitary napkin (test body c1) of Comparative Example 1 had an extremely large amount of liquid remaining on the top sheet, and could not sufficiently satisfy practical requirements. According to the sanitary napkins of Comparative Examples 2 and 3 (test bodies c2 and c3) having an absorbent body simply embossed on the test body c1, the remaining amount of the surface liquid is improved as the embossing rate is increased. On the other hand, however, the thickness of the absorber is lost, the feeling of wearing is deteriorated, and the liquid spreading area on the surface side is also increased.
On the other hand, in the sanitary napkin (test body 1) of Example 1 of the present invention, the remaining amount of the liquid on the top sheet was greatly suppressed, and the spread of the liquid on the surface side was hardly seen. In addition, the bulkiness (thickness) of the absorbent body is maintained, and it is possible to realize a feeling of wearing that is flexible and has a good cushion feeling. From the above results, it can be seen that the practical requirements for the absorbent article according to the present invention can be satisfied at a high level.

As described above, according to the embodiment of the present invention, the embossing is performed on the longitudinal side portion of the rectangular pulp fiber, and the side portion is folded to the back side of the central portion. A density gradient is generated from the upper layer portion to the lower layer portion, the liquid drawing force from the upper layer portion to the lower layer portion is improved, liquid diffusion on the absorber surface is suppressed, and the dry feeling of the absorber surface is improved.

Further, since the side part is folded including the embossed part, the folding process is facilitated, and an accurate and stable folded shape is obtained. More preferably, since the folded portion of the lower layer portion is engaged with the embossed portions, the absorber is less likely to be twisted, and the flexibility and cushion feeling of the absorber are improved. A balance between the body's fluid absorbency and the thickness of the absorber that provides a feeling of fit and security can be secured.
