Abstract
Description
この発明は概して、無線周波数認識装置(RFID)もしくは「スマートカード」のような他の認識装置を用いて電子装置または電子文書の中のデータにアクセスするかまたはこのデータを認証するのに用いられる認識装置、システム、および方法に関する。
自動認識技術は人または物を認識し、これらの人または物に関するデータを自動的に提供する助けをするのに用いられる。典型的には認証または証明された文書は個人にサービスまたは利益を与えるための根拠として提示され、その例としては州、地方、および連邦政府の機関からのパスポートまたはビザを用いるときがある。米国国防総省によって用いられるコモンアクセスカード(Common Access Card;CAC)のようなRFIDタグまたは埋込装置は、法律文書を証明するのに用いられるか、または文書が偽造されたものでないことを保証するのに用いられ得る。
Dタグと同じではないタイプのスマートカード技術を埋込む。RFIDタグは一般的には、RFIDタグに記憶されるID番号のみを送ることとなる。ISO/IEC14443仕様に基づく非接触スマートカード技術は、13.56MHzの低電力無線周波数信号がRFID装置の数インチ以内に与えられると電源オンになる。たとえば125KHzチャンネル、134KHzチャンネル、または915MHzキャリアを用いる他の周波数が用いられてもよい。
この発明の例示的実施例は、メモリ装置に記憶される論理状態によって駆動される短絡回路を有するRFID装置を記載する。メモリ装置において記憶される論理状態は、電力回路網および/またはアンテナインターフェイス回路網が有効または無効であるかどうかを決定し、対応してRFID装置を非活性化または活性化する。
無効な非接触認識装置を非活性化するか、または認識装置を非活性化する方法および装置もしくは回路が示される。認識装置は内部のメモリ装置のプログラムされた状態に依って動作可能または動作不能にされる。適用例に依って認識装置を非活性化する必要があるかもしれない。非活性化は、将来の処理において非接触装置が他の非接触装置の読取を乱すもしくは混乱させることがないので望ましいかもしれず、または認証期間が過ぎている場合に望ましいかもしれない。たとえば、いくつかのビザ(電子認識装置)を含むパスポートの場合、1つのビザの有効期限が過ぎるかもしれない。この例において、この有効期限が過ぎたビザのみが非活性化されるのが望ましいかもしれない。

Claims (11)
- 非接触電子認識装置の中に組込まれる回路であって、
アンテナに結合されるアンテナインターフェイス回路と、
前記アンテナインターフェイス回路に結合される電力回路と、
前記アンテナインターフェイス回路と前記電力回路とに結合される短絡回路と、
前記短絡回路に結合される制御回路とを含み、前記制御回路は前記短絡回路を選択的に活性化または非活性化するよう構成され、前記非接触電子認識装置の中に組込まれる回路はさらに、
前記制御回路に結合されるプログラム可能な不揮発性メモリ装置を含み、前記プログラム可能なメモリ装置は、電力が供給されるかまたは供給されない状態の間、少なくとも1つの論理状態を記憶し、したがってその論理状態を維持するよう構成され、前記プログラム可能なメモリ装置はさらに前記少なくとも1つの記憶された論理状態に従って前記制御回路を駆動するよう構成される、回路。 - 前記アンテナインターフェイス回路は、インダクタおよびキャパシタを有する並列共振LCタンク発振回路を含む、請求項1に記載の回路。
- 前記電力回路は、交流信号を直流信号に変換するようブリッジ構成で構成されるダイオードまたはダイオード均等コンポーネントを含む、請求項1に記載の回路。
- 前記短絡回路は、前記アンテナインターフェイス回路を選択的に短絡し、これにより前記電力回路を非活性化するよう構成されるスイッチング装置を含む、請求項1に記載の回路。
- 前記制御回路は駆動トランジスタと制御トランジスタとを含み、前記制御トランジスタは前記駆動トランジスタおよび前記プログラム可能な不揮発性メモリ装置の両方に結合される、請求項1に記載の回路。
- 前記プログラム可能な不揮発性メモリ回路は、フローティングゲートを有するEEPROMトランジスタを含む、請求項1に記載の回路。
- 電子認識装置を動作不能にする方法であって、
所定の論理状態をプログラム可能なメモリ装置に記憶するステップを含み、前記プログラム可能なメモリ装置はいかなる電源からの電力印加もなしで前記記憶された論理状態を維持するよう構成され、前記方法はさらに、
制御装置をバイアスするステップを含み、バイアス電圧は前記プログラム可能なメモリ装置における前記記憶された論理状態に対応し、前記方法はさらに、
電力回路を選択的に短絡するステップを含み、この選択的短絡は前記プログラム可能なメモリ装置における前記記憶された論理状態と前記制御装置にかけられた前記バイアス電圧とに対応する、方法。 - 前記プログラム可能なメモリ装置は、前記論理状態を記憶することができるフローティングゲート構造を有するメモリトランジスタを含む、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記電子認識装置のために電源を生成するよう、電磁信号が電子認識装置リーダによって生成される、請求項7に記載の方法。
