Description
Claims (22)
- エンジンに空気を導入するための吸気マニホルドと、
前記エンジンから排気ガスを除去するための排気マニホルドと、
前記排気ガスを大気に排出するために前記排気マニホルドに接続された排気ガス導管と、
前記排気ガス導管から余分な排気ガスエミッションを捕捉するために前記排気ガス導管に配置されたフィルタと、
前記フィルタと作動可能に協働する点火源と、
前記点火源の近傍に配置された燃料源と、
吸気導管内に取り付けられかつ前記排気ガス導管に接続されたブリード弁と、
を備える空気処理システムであって、
前記ブリード弁が空気を前記吸気導管から前記排気ガス導管に選択的に導いたときに、前記燃料源が前記排気ガス導管に燃料を導入し、前記点火源が火花を発生させて、前記空気と前記燃料とを点火する空気処理システム。 - 前記エンジン用の燃料ポンプに接続された燃料ラインをさらに備え、
前記燃料ポンプが、前記排気ガス導管内の前記点火源の近傍で燃焼させるための燃料を前記燃料源に供給する請求項1に記載の発明。 - 前記余分な排気ガスエミッションが、前記エンジンの運転によって自然燃焼しなかった場合に、前記燃料源が燃料を噴射し、前記ブリード弁が、前記点火源の近傍で前記排気ガス導管に新気を導入し、前記点火源が前記燃料を点火して、前記余分な排気ガスエミッションを燃焼させる請求項2に記載の発明。
- 前記ブリード弁が、前記余分な排気ガスエミッションを燃焼させるのに要求される必要な空気量を導入する請求項1に記載の発明。
- 前記余分な排気ガスエミッションが、粒子状物質、炭化水素、窒素酸化物、及びそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される材料を含む請求項1に記載の発明。
- 前記排気ガスを受け入れるためのタービンと、
前記タービンによって作動されるコンプレッサと、
をさらに備え、
前記コンプレッサが、前記吸気導管を通して空気を受け入れ、圧縮し、そして前記エンジンの前記吸気マニホルドに押し込む請求項1に記載の発明。 - エンジンに使用される排気ガスタービンからの空気を処理するための後処理システムであって、
空気を吸気し、加圧された排気ガスを放出するエンジンと、
前記加圧された排気ガスからの流れによって回転するタービンと、
前記タービンによって作動され、空気を圧縮して前記エンジンの吸気マニホルドに前記空気を押し込むコンプレッサと、
前記吸気マニホルドに流体連通するように前記コンプレッサを配置するための吸気導管と、
前記エンジンからの前記加圧された排気ガスを導くための排気ガス導管と、
前記加圧された排気ガスの余分な排気ガスエミッションを集めるためのフィルタと、
前記フィルタの近傍で前記排気ガス導管に取り付けられた点火源と、
新気流を前記吸気導管から前記排気ガス導管に選択的に導くためのブリード弁と、
前記点火源と作動可能に協働する、前記排気ガス導管に燃料を導入する燃料インジェクタと、
燃料ラインを通して前記エンジンに燃料を導入するための及び前記燃料インジェクタに燃料を供給するための燃料ポンプと、
を備える後処理システムにおいて、
前記燃料と前記空気とが前記排気ガス導管に導入されたときに、前記点火源が前記燃料を点火して、前記余分な排気ガスエミッションをバーンオフする後処理システム。 - 作動時、前記ブリード弁が、前記点火源によって点火される前記燃料と混合するための新気を前記排気ガス導管に導入するように、前記ブリード弁が、前記コンプレッサから下流に取り付けられ、前記排気ガス導管に接続される請求項7に記載の発明。
- 前記タービンが動力を前記コンプレッサに伝達して前記コンプレッサを駆動する請求項7に記載の発明。
- 前記燃料ラインが前記エンジンの燃料ポンプに接続される請求項7に記載の発明。
- 前記燃料ラインが前記燃料インジェクタに接続される請求項7に記載の発明。
- 前記エンジンの速度が増加することにより、前記タービン及び前記コンプレッサの速度が増加し、このことによって、前記排気ガス導管を通る空気流も増加し、その結果、前記ブリード弁が前記排気ガス導管に空気を導いたときに前記ブリード弁からの新気流が増加する請求項7に記載の発明。
- 前記余分な排気ガスエミッションが、粒子状物質、炭化水素、窒素酸化物、及びそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される材料を含む請求項7に記載の発明。
- エンジンに使用されるターボ過給機からの余分な排気ガスエミッションを除去するための空気処理システムであって、
エンジンからの排気ガスを受け入れるための排気マニホルドと、
前記排気マニホルドから前記排気ガスを集め、排気ガス導管に前記排気ガスを導入するためのタービンと、
空気を圧縮して前記エンジンの吸気マニホルドに押し込むためのコンプレッサと、
前記排気ガス導管から流れてくる余分な排気ガスエミッションを止めるためのフィルタと、
前記フィルタの近傍に配置されかつ前記排気ガス導管に配置された点火源と、
前記コンプレッサから下流に配置されたブリード弁と、
前記点火源の近傍に配置されかつ前記排気ガス導管に配置された燃料源と、
を備える空気処理システムにおいて、
燃料が前記燃料源から前記排気ガス導管に噴射されたときに、前記ブリード弁が前記排気ガス導管に空気を導入し、電流が前記点火源に供給されて火花が前記排気ガス導管内に発生され、前記燃料が点火されて、燃焼火炎を発生させ、前記余分な排気ガスエミッションをバーンオフする空気処理システム。 - 前記排気ガスを大気に導くための消音装置をさらに備え、前記消音装置が前記排気ガス導管の下流に配置される請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記フィルタが前記消音装置内に配置される請求項15に記載のシステム。
- 前記エンジンに燃料を導入するために、及び前記燃料源に燃料を供給するために、前記エンジンに接続された燃料ポンプをさらに備える請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 第1の端部で前記燃料源に接続され、第2の端部で前記エンジンの前記燃料ポンプに接続された燃料ラインを設けるステップをさらに含む請求項17に記載のシステム。
- 前記フィルタが前記点火源及び前記燃料源と作動可能に協働するように、前記フィルタが配置される請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記ブリード弁が前記排気ガス導管に接続され、前記ブリード弁が、前記コンプレッサから前記排気ガス導管及び前記吸気マニホルドへの空気流を制御するために使用される請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記フィルタに蓄積した余分な排気ガスエミッション量が、前記消音装置の排気ガス圧力量を読み取ることによって決定される請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記燃料が点火される前に、空気と前記燃料とが前記排気ガス導管内で混合される請求項14に記載のシステム。
