Abstract
Description
雲母質バインダーは粒径約150マイクロメートル未満を有するバーミキュライトを含むことができ、膨張性材料は約150マイクロメートルを超える粒径を有するバーミキュライト(100メッシュスクリーンの通過無し)を含むことができる。膨張性バーミキュライトは300マイクロメートルを超える平均粒子サイズを有することができる。
Claims (29)
- セラミック繊維を含み、反対側の横エッジによって画定される幅を有する、少なくとも1つの非膨張性層、及び
膨張性材料を含み、反対側の横エッジによって画定される幅を有する、少なくとも1つの膨張性層、
前記膨張性層の幅が前記非膨張性層の幅より小さく、前記膨張性層は露出した主要表面を有している、汚染防止装置内の汚染防止エレメントを実装する多層マット。 - 前記少なくとも1つの非膨張性層、及び少なくとも1つの膨張性層が互いに接合している、請求項1に記載の多層マット。
- 前記少なくとも1つの非膨張性層が少なくとも2つの非膨張性である、前記少なくとも1つの膨張性層が少なくとも2つの膨張性層である、又は前記少なくとも1つの非膨張性層が少なくとも2つの非膨張性層であるとともに、前記少なくとも1つの膨張性層が少なくとも2つの膨張性層である、請求項1又は2に記載の多層マット。
- 前記少なくとも2つの非膨張性層各々の組成が異なっている、請求項3に記載の多層マット。
- 前記少なくとも2つの非膨張性層各々の幅が異なり、前記少なくとも2つの膨張性層各々の幅が異なり、並びに各膨張性層の幅が各非膨張性層の幅より小さい、請求項3に記載の多層マット。
- 前記少なくとも1つの非膨張層が、前記少なくとも1つの膨張性層の両横エッジが前記少なくとも1つの非膨張性層の横エッジの内側に位置づけられるように、互いに関連して配置される、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の多層マット。
- 前記少なくとも1つの非膨張性層及び前記少なくとも1つの膨張性層が、前記少なくとも1つの膨張性層の横エッジの1つが少なくとも1つの非膨張層の横エッジの線に沿っており、前記少なくとも1つの膨張性層のもう一方の横エッジのみが、少なくとも1つの非膨張性層の横エッジの内側に位置するように、互いに関連して配置される、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の多層マット。
- 前記非膨張性層が約0.5mm〜約20mmの範囲にある厚さ及び約0.05g/cc〜約0.4g/ccの範囲にある嵩密度を有し、前記膨張性層が約0.5mm〜約15mmの範囲にある厚さ及び約0.4g/cc〜約0.75g/ccの範囲にある嵩密度を有する、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の多層マット。
- セラミック繊維を含む1つ以上の層の非膨張性ストリップを更に含み、前記ストリップが少なくとも1つの前記膨張性層の1つの横エッジに並んで位置づけられ、前記ストリップの幅が少なくとも1つの前記膨張性層の幅より狭い、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の多層マット。
- 前記非膨張性ストリップ及び前記膨張性層の合わせた幅が前記非膨張性層の幅にほぼ等しい、請求項9に記載の多層マット。
- 少なくとも1つの前記膨張性層の各横エッジに並んで配置される1つの前記非膨張性ストリップをもつセラミック繊維を含む1つ以上の層のもう1つの非膨張性ストリップをさらに含み、各前記ストリップの幅が少なくとも1つの前記膨張性層の幅より狭い、請求項9に記載の多層マット。
- 前記非膨張性ストリップと前記膨張性層の両方の合わせた幅が前記非膨張性層の幅にほぼ等しい、請求項11に記載の多層マット。
- 各前記非膨張性ストリップ及び少なくとも1つの膨張性層が実質的に同一平面上にある、請求項9〜12のいずれか1項に記載の多層マット。
- 前記各非膨張性ストリップが少なくとも1つの前記膨張性層の長さとほぼ等しい長さを有する、請求項9〜13のいずれか1項に記載の多層マット。
- 前記各非膨張性ストリップが前記非膨張性層よりも弾力的である、請求項9〜14のいずれか1項に記載の多層マット。
- 前記非膨張性層が任意の前記非膨張性ストリップよりも弾力的である、請求項9〜14のいずれか1項に記載の多層マット。
- 各前記非膨張性ストリップが、約0.5mm〜約20mmの範囲の厚さ及び約0.05g/cc〜約0.4g/ccの範囲の嵩密度を有し、前記非膨張性層が約0.5mm〜約20mmの範囲の厚さ及び約0.05g/cc〜約0.4g/ccの範囲の嵩密度を有し、前記膨張性層が約0.5mm〜約15mmの範囲の厚さ及び約0.4g/cc〜約0.75g/ccの範囲の嵩密度を有する、請求項9〜15のいずれか1項に記載の多層マット。
- 内壁を有するハウジング、
それらの間に間隙を形成するように前記ハウジングに配置された汚染防止要素、及び
請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の多層マットを含み、
前記汚染防止要素が、前記ハウジングに実装されるように前記マットが前記間隙に配置されている、汚染防止装置。 - 前記ハウジングの内壁の1部分が凹部を規定し、前記マットが少なくとも前記膨張性層のみの1部分が前記凹部内に受容されるように位置づけられる、請求項18に記載の汚染防止装置。
- 前記ハウジングの内壁の1部分が凹部を規定し、前記マットが少なくとも前記膨張性層の1部分が前記凹部内に受容されるように位置づけられ、前記膨張性層の各横エッジがどれも前記汚染防止装置を通り抜ける排気ガスに暴露されない、請求項18に記載の汚染防止装置。
- 前記ハウジングの内壁の1部分が凹部を規定し、前記マットが前記膨張性層が前記凹部内に受け入れられるように位置づけられ、前記膨張性層の1つの横エッジが前記汚染防止装置を通り抜ける排気ガスに暴露される、請求項18に記載の汚染防止装置。
- 内壁を有するハウジング、

請求項9〜17のいずれか1項に記載の多層マットを含み、

- 前記非膨張性層が前記汚染防止要素に隣接して位置づけられる、請求項18〜23のいずれか1項に記載の汚染防止装置。
- 前記非膨張性層が前記汚染防止要素と接触している、請求項24に記載の汚染防止装置。
- 前記膨張性層が前記ハウジングの内壁に隣接して位置づけられている、請求項18〜25のいずれか1項に記載の汚染防止装置。
- 前記膨張性層の少なくとも1つの横エッジが、前記汚染防止装置を通り抜ける排気ガスへの暴露から実質的に封をされている、請求項18〜26のいずれか1項に記載の汚染防止装置。
- 前記装置が触媒コンバータ又は排気システムフィルターである、請求項18〜27のいずれか1項に記載の汚染防止装置。
- 前記排気システムが、請求項18〜28のいずれか1項に記載の汚染防止装置からなる、内燃機関のための排気システム。
