Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a canister body that stores fuel vapor (evaporative gas) generated in a fuel tank of a vehicle and supplies the stored fuel vapor to an intake system of an internal combustion engine, and extends from the canister body, The present invention belongs to a technical field related to a canister structure including an outside air communication pipe that is open to the outside air and communicates the inside of the canister body and the outside air.
Generally, a canister is provided with a canister body that contains an adsorbent such as activated carbon therein, and fuel vapor generated by evaporation in a fuel tank is adsorbed and stored in the adsorbent. Air other than fuel vapor is released into the outside air (in the atmosphere) through an outside air communication pipe extending from the canister body. Note that the outside air may be introduced into the fuel tank through the outside air communication pipe and the canister body due to the pressure change accompanying the temperature change in the fuel tank.
The canister body supplies the stored fuel vapor to the engine intake system in accordance with the engine operating state. In other words, the canister body and the engine intake system (intake pipe) are connected by a purge pipe, and this purge pipe is provided with a purge control valve that is opened and closed according to the engine operating state, and this purge control valve is opened. When this occurs, the inside of the canister body and the outside air communication pipe become negative pressure. As a result, outside air (air) is introduced into the outside air communication pipe from the open end of the outside air, and this air is mixed with the stored fuel vapor and the engine intake system. Supplied to.
However, in the conventional arrangement of the canister main body, it is difficult to make the canister main body have a large capacity capable of accommodating a large amount of adsorbent. For this reason, a part of the fuel vapor generated in the fuel tank is generated. The possibility of being released into the outside air through the outside air communication pipe without being adsorbed by the adsorbent increases.
Therefore, in order to make the canister main body of a large capacity, it can be considered to arrange the canister main body below the vehicle body floor of the vehicle, but when the canister main body is arranged below the vehicle body floor, When the vehicle is submerged, water easily enters the outside air communication pipe from the outside open end. When water enters the outside air communication pipe in this way, the water may enter the canister body and reduce the adsorption capacity of the adsorbent, and further, the water may be sucked into the engine.
In order to prevent water from entering the outside air communication pipe in this way, it is conceivable to arrange the open end of the outside air communication pipe at a position higher than the water level at the time of flooding.
However, if the outside air open end of the outside air communication pipe is arranged at a high position, the following problems occur. In other words, even if a large-capacity canister body is used, if the fuel vapor is discharged into the outside air from the open end of the outside air arranged at a high position as described above, the odor of the fuel vapor causes the vehicle occupant It causes discomfort.
As described above, if the outside open end of the outside air communication pipe is arranged at a low position, there is a possibility of water intrusion into the canister body, whereas if it is arranged at a high position, the problem of odor of fuel vapor occurs. Therefore, it is very difficult to take measures against flooding and odor at the same time.
The present invention has been made in view of such a point, and the object of the present invention is from the outside open end of the outside air communication pipe when the canister body is disposed below the vehicle body floor as described above. An object of the present invention is to prevent water from entering the canister body during submergence of the lower part of the vehicle while preventing the passengers of the vehicle from feeling uncomfortable due to the odor of the fuel vapor released into the outside air.
In order to achieve the above object, according to the present invention, an intermediate portion of an outside air communication pipe extending from a canister body disposed on the lower side of a vehicle body floor is folded back after extending upward in a vehicle wheel house. A convex portion extending downward is provided, and the outside open end of the outside air communication pipe is arranged in the vicinity of the lower portion of the wheel house.
Specifically, according to the first aspect of the present invention, fuel vapor generated in the fuel tank is connected to the fuel tank of the vehicle and the intake system of the internal combustion engine via pipes, and the stored fuel vapor is stored therein. A canister body for supplying air to the intake system, and an outside air communication pipe extending from the canister body and having a tip open to the outside air to communicate the inside of the canister body with the outside air, the canister body being a vehicle body of the vehicle The canister structure arranged on the lower side of the floor is targeted.
The intermediate portion of the outside air communication pipe has a convex portion that extends upward and extends downward in the wheel house of the vehicle, and the outside open end of the outside air communication pipe is formed at the lower part of the wheel house. It shall be arrange | positioned in the vicinity.
With the above configuration, the canister main body is disposed on the lower side of the vehicle body floor, so that the canister main body can have a large capacity, so that the fuel vapor can be discharged from the outside open end of the outside air communication pipe to the outside air. It can be prevented from being released into. Even if fuel vapor is released from the open end of the outside air communication pipe, the open end of the outside air communication pipe is located at a relatively low position near the lower part of the wheel house. It is possible to prevent discomfort to the vehicle occupant and the like due to the odor of the fuel vapor released from the open end of the outside air. On the other hand, the outside air open end of the outside air communication pipe is arranged at a low position, so that the outside air open end of the outside air communication pipe is easily submerged, but a part of the outside air communication pipe (outside air open end) Even if water enters the side portion), the water does not reach the canister body due to the presence of the convex portion in the intermediate portion of the outside air communication pipe. As a result, it is possible to prevent water from entering the canister body during submergence of the vehicle lower part.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect of the present invention, the upper portion of the convex portion of the outside air communication pipe is disposed in the upper portion of the wheel house.
As a result, even if about 2/3 of the wheels are submerged, the upper part of the convex portion can be arranged at a position higher than the water level at the time of submergence. In addition, it is possible to prevent the water that has entered the outside air open end portion of the outside air communication pipe from entering the canister body.
In the invention of claim 3, in the invention of claim 1 or 2, the convex portion of the outside air communication pipe is provided between the vehicle body member constituting the wheel house and the mud guard member covering the wheel side of the vehicle body member. It is assumed that they are arranged in the space to be formed.
Thus, the outside air communication pipe can be protected by the mudguard member, and damage to the outside air communication pipe due to stones or the like splashed by the wheels can be prevented.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the invention according to any one of the first to third aspects, the wheel house is a wheel house for a rear wheel, and is located at a vehicle rear side position with respect to the rear wheel below the vehicle body floor. The muffler is arranged, and the outside open end of the outside air communication pipe is arranged on the vehicle front side with respect to the convex portion.
In this way, the open end of the outside air communication pipe can be separated from the
As described above, according to the canister structure of the present invention, the canister body is disposed on the lower side of the vehicle body floor, and is folded to the middle part of the outside air communication pipe after extending upward in the wheel house of the vehicle. A convex portion extending to the side is provided, and the outside open end of the outside air communication pipe is arranged in the vicinity of the lower part of the wheel house, so that the canister body has a large capacity, and the fuel vapor is outside air communication pipe. It can be prevented from being released into the outside air from the outside open end of the vehicle, and even if fuel vapor is released from the outside open end of the outside air communication pipe, the odor of the fuel vapor causes discomfort to the vehicle occupants etc. Can not be given. Further, even if water enters from the outside open end of the outside air communication pipe into the outside air open end of the outside air communication pipe, the protrusion can prevent water from entering the canister body.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 shows an overall schematic configuration of a fuel vapor purge system including a
The cylinder head 4 is formed with an
Further, the cylinder head 4 is provided with an
The
An
On the other hand, an
The
The fuel vapor (evaporative gas) generated by evaporating in the
The
In the present embodiment, the other end of the
When the
On the other hand, when the outside air
The predetermined value (negative pressure) overcomes the urging force of the spring, and water that has entered from the outside air
In the outside
In the present embodiment, the

Here, as shown in FIG. 4, the
The
The
The
The outside
The
Similarly to the T-shaped
In the present embodiment, the
In addition, the outside air
しかし、本実施形態では、図3に示す高さH(リヤフロアパネル61における後輪65に相当する前後位置での高さよりも僅かに低い高さであって、後輪65の2/3程度が浸かる高さ)まで車両Cの下部が冠水しても車両Cの走行を保証することができ、外気連通管の外気開放端52aが冠水しても、キャニスタ本体51内へ水が浸入することはない。
On the other hand, the outside air
In the above embodiment, the
In the above embodiment, the
Furthermore, in the said embodiment, although the convex-shaped
Further, when the
