リヤシートの車幅方向中央部に着座した乗員を該リヤシートに拘束可能とした自動車のシートベルト装置であって、
車体側部材内に取り付けられ、シートベルトを通常使用状態では移動自在に支持しつつ常時格納方向に巻き取るリトラクタと、
前記車体側部材内に取り付けられ、前記リトラクタから引き出したシートベルトを移動自在に案内支持するベルト中継部材とを有し、
前記車体側部材の室内側に配置された内装部材の上縁部と天井部材の側縁部との境界部に、前記シートベルトを前記ベルト中継部材を介して車室内に導くベルト挿通部が形成され、
前記天井部材の側縁部には、該ベルト挿通部を覆うように車外側に延びる延長部が形成され、該延長部は前記ベルト中継部材に当接支持されていることを特徴とする自動車のシートベルト装置。
