Abstract
【解決手段】それぞれの離散刺激領域は、埋め込み式電極アレイの電極チャネルに同時に印加される刺激信号と制限信号の建設的干渉および破壊的干渉の少なくとも一方によって規定される。刺激信号と制限信号は、拡散関数を表す、電極アレイの蝸牛内電極チャネルのトランスインピーダンス測定に基づいて決定される。刺激信号は、目標電極チャネル、すなわち、離散刺激領域に隣接する1以上の連続する電極を通して印加される。目標電極チャネルは、音プロセッサの出力に基づいて音を表すよう選択され、離散刺激領域内の神経活動を刺激し音を認識する。離散刺激領域のサイズは、目標電極チャネル以外の電極チャネルに印加される制限信号により規定され、制限信号は刺激信号に応答して電流拡散を打ち消す。

Claims (3)
- 特定の受容者の蝸牛の離散刺激領域についての刺激を提供するように構成された蝸牛インプラントにおいて、前記離散刺激領域が、前記蝸牛に埋め込まれた電極アレイの電極チャネルに同時に印加される刺激信号と制限信号の干渉によって画定される蝸牛インプラントであって、前記刺激信号および前記制限信号が、前記特定の受容者の特有の拡散関数を表すトランスインピーダンス測定に基づいて決定される蝸牛インプラント。
- 前記離散刺激領域のサイズが、目標電極チャネル以外の電極チャネル(複数可)に印加される前記制限信号(複数可)によって画定され、前記制限信号(複数可)が、前記刺激信号に応答して普通なら起こることになる電流拡散を打ち消す(negate)請求項1に記載の蝸牛インプラント。
- 特定の受容者の蝸牛の離散刺激領域についての刺激を提供する方法であって、
刺激された電極とアイドル状態の電極との間のトランスインピーダンス値行列の形態で受容者特有の電流拡散関数を測定すること、
測定されたトランスインピーダンス値を使用して計算されるトランスアドミタンス値の逆行列を計算すること、および、
前記トランスアドミタンス値の行列を利用することであって、それにより、刺激電圧の所望のベクトルを生成する電極電流の必要とされるベクトルを決定する、利用することを含む方法。
