Abstract
Description
本願は、2004年12月29日付けで出願された米国仮出願第60/640,167号の利益を主張する、その全ての内容は参照により本明細書の開示に含まれる。
本発明は、凝集系を用いてセルロース原料から紙および板紙を製造する方法に関する。
背景
歩留まりおよび濾水は、製紙において重要な観点である。ある種の材料が、紙および板紙の製造において改善された歩留まりおよび/または濾水特性を提供できることがわかっているある種の材料は、紙および板紙の製造において改善された歩留まりおよび/または濾水特性を提供できることがわかっている。
製紙法における歩留まりおよび濾水を改善する方法を開示する。本方法は、製紙用スラリーに、会合性ポリマー、および、ポリ(ビニルアミン)を添加することを提供する。
加えて、会合性ポリマー、ポリ(ビニルアミン)、ケイ酸含有材料を含む組成物を開示し、該組成物は、セルロース繊維をさらに含んでもよい。
本発明は、所定の条件下で製造された水溶性コポリマー(以降、「会合性ポリマー」と称する)、および、ポリ(ビニルアミン)を含む相乗的な組み合わせを提供する。驚くべきことに、この相乗的な組み合わせにより、個々の成分の歩留まりおよび濾水性能より優れた歩留まりおよび濾水性能が得られることが見出された。相乗効果は、組み合わせた成分が一緒に用いられる場合に起こる。
本発明はまた、会合性ポリマー、ポリ(ビニルアミン)、および、ケイ酸含有材料を含む組成物を提供する。
本発明はまた、会合性ポリマー、ポリ(ビニルアミン)、ケイ酸含有材料、および、セルロース繊維を含む組成物を提供する。
紙および板紙の製造に多成分系を用いることによって、プロセスおよび/または製品に様々な作用を有する材料を利用することにより性能を高める機会が得られる。その上、それらを組み合わせることによって、個々の成分では得がたい特性が得られる可能性がある。本発明の多成分系において、相乗効果が起こる。

を含む水溶性コポリマー組成物であり、ここで、該水溶性コポリマーは、少なくとも1種のジブロックまたはトリブロック高分子界面活性剤からなる少なくとも1種の乳化用の界面活性剤を用いる油中水型乳化重合技術によって製造され、ここで、少なくとも1種のジブロックまたはトリブロック界面活性剤の単量体に対する比率は、少なくとも約3:100であり、ここで、該油中水型乳化重合技術は、以下の工程を含む:(a)単量体の水溶液を製造する工程、(b)該水溶液と、界面活性剤、または界面活性剤の混合物を含む炭化水素液とを接触させて、逆エマルジョンを形成する工程、(c)該エマルジョン中の単量体を、フリーラジカル重合によって約2以上7未満のpH範囲で重合させる工程。
Claims (20)
- 製紙法における歩留まりおよび濾水を改善する方法であって、ここで、該改善は、製紙用スラリーに、会合性ポリマー、および、ポリ(ビニルアミン)を添加することを含み、ここで、該会合性ポリマーは、式:
を含み、ここで、該会合性ポリマーは、有効量のジブロックまたはトリブロック高分子界面活性剤から選択される少なくとも1種の乳化用の界面活性剤によって付与される会合特性を有し、ここで、該少なくとも1種のジブロックまたはトリブロック界面活性剤の単量体に対する量は、少なくとも約3:10である、上記方法。 - ケイ酸含有材料を添加することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ケイ酸含有材料は、シリカをベースとした粒子、シリカミクロゲル、無定形シリカ、コロイドシリカ、アニオン性コロイドシリカ、シリカゾル、シリカゲル、ポリシリケート、ポリケイ酸、および、それらの組み合わせからなる群より選択される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリ(ビニルアミン)、および、会合性ポリマーは、混合物として、同時に、または、連続的に製紙用スラリーに添加される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記会合性ポリマーは、アニオン性である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記非イオン性単量体は、アクリルアミドを含み、前記アニオン性単量体は、アクリル酸の遊離酸または塩を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記会合性ポリマーは、カチオン性である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記会合性ポリマーは、アニオン性単量体とカチオン性単量体との両方を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記会合性ポリマーのポリ(ビニルアミン)に対する比率は、100:1〜1:100である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記会合性ポリマーのポリ(ビニルアミン)に対する比率は、約25:1〜約1:25である、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリ(ビニルアミン)の量は、パルプの乾燥重量に基づき、5.0Kg(活性物質)/メートルトン(セルロースパルプ)以下である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリ(ビニルアミン)の量は、パルプの乾燥重量に基づき、約0.05kg〜約1.0Kg(活性物質)/メートルトン(セルロースパルプ)である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 製紙法における歩留まりおよび濾水を改善する方法であって、ここで、該改善は、製紙用スラリーに、有機微粒子、および、ポリ(ビニルアミン)を添加することを含む、上記方法。
- 会合性ポリマー、および、ポリ(ビニルアミン)を含む組成物であって、ここで、該会合性ポリマーは、式:
を含み、ここで、該会合性ポリマーは、有効量のジブロックまたはトリブロック高分子界面活性剤から選択される少なくとも1種の乳化用の界面活性剤によって付与される会合特性を有し、ここで、該少なくとも1種のジブロックまたはトリブロック界面活性剤の単量体に対する量は、少なくとも約3:10である、上記組成物。 - ケイ酸含有材料をさらに含む、請求項14に記載の組成物。
