Abstract
Description
この出願は、2004年1月23日に出願された、米国特許第10/707,916の一部継続特許出願である。

Claims (11)
- トポロジにより、情報を送信する方法であって、
第1のアクセス・ポート、第2のアクセス・ポート、及び、ルータに接続される第1のアップリンクを有する第1のノードを設けるステップと、
第1のアクセス・ポート、及び、前記第1のノードの前記第1のアクセス・ポートに接続される第1のアップリンクを有する第2のノードを設けるステップと、
第1のアクセス・ポート、及び、前記第1のノードの前記第2のアクセス・ポートに接続される第1のアップリンクを有する第3のノードを設けるステップと、
第1のパケットを、前記第1のアクセス・ポートを経て前記第2のノードに送信するステップと、
前記第2のノードが、第1のポート番号を有するタグを、前記第1のパケットに追加するステップと、
前記第2のノードが、前記第1のパケットを、前記第2のノードの前記第1のアップリンクを経由して、前記第1のノードの前記第1のアクセス・ポートに送信するステップと、
前記第1のノードが、前記第1のノードの前記第1のアクセス・ポートを経て前記第1のパケットを受信するステップと、
前記第1のノードが、前記第1のノードの前記第1のアクセス・ポートの第1のポート番号を、前記タグに追加するステップと、
前記第1のノードが、前記第1のノードの前記第1のアップリンクを経由して、前記第1のパケットを第1のルータに送信するステップとを含む方法。 - 前記第1のノードと等価である第1の姉妹ノードに接続される、第2のアップリンクを、前記第1のノードに設けるステップを更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のノードが、前記第2のアップリンクを経由して、前記第1のパケットを前記第1の姉妹ノードに送信するステップを更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の姉妹ノードが、前記第1の姉妹ノードの第1のアップリンクを経由して、前記第1のパケットを第2のルータに送信するステップを更に含む請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のパケットの前記タグに、以前のノードのポート番号を含む第1のニブルと、第2のニブルとを設け、前記第1のノードが、前記第1のノードの前記第1のポート番号を、前記第2のニブルに追加するステップを更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のニブルにおける前記第1のポート番号を、前記第2のニブルにシフトするステップを更に含む請求項5に記載の方法。
- 第2のパケットのタグに、第2のポート番号を含む第1のニブルと第2のニブルとを設けるステップを更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のノードが、前記第2のパケットの前記第1のニブルから、前記第2のポート番号を除去するステップを更に含む請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記タグが、前記第1及び前記第2のニブルにおいて、ゼロでない値を全く含んでいないときに、前記第2のノードが、前記第2のパケットから前記タグを除去するステップを更に含む請求項8に記載の方法。
- 互いに接続されるノード間のツリー・トポロジを形成するステップを更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 互いに接続されるノード間のリング・トポロジを形成するステップを更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。
