Abstract
Description
本明細書で説明する不動化には、目標による随意の動きの、任意の抑止が含まれる。例えば、不動化には、痛みを生じさせること、または通常の筋肉機能を妨げることが含まれることが可能である。不動化は、目標のすべての動き、またはすべての筋肉を含む必要はない。好ましくは、不随意の筋肉機能(例えば、循環および呼吸のための)は、妨げられない。電極群の配置が局所的である変種では、1つまたは複数の骨格筋の機能が失われることにより、適切な不動化が達せられる。別の実施形態では、運動作業を完了する目標の能力を混乱させる適切な強さの痛みが生じさせられて、目標を無能にし、無力にする。
前述した、展開された電極の構成のいずれにおいても、刺激信号は、様々な電極間で切り替えられて、任意の特定の時点で、すべての電極はアクティブではないようにされることが可能である。したがって、複数の電極に刺激信号を印加するための方法は、任意の順序で、(a)電極ペアを選択すること、(b)選択されたペアに刺激信号を印加すること、(c)目標に送り込まれるエネルギー(または電荷量)を監視すること、(d)送られたエネルギー(または電荷量)が、限度未満である場合、選択された電極群の少なくとも1つの電極が、刺激信号伝送回路を形成するように目標に十分に結合されていないと結論付けること、および(e)所定の合計刺激(エネルギーおよび/または電荷量)が送られるまで、選択すること、印加すること、および監視することを繰り返すことを含む。そのような方法を実行するマイクロプロセッサは、ミリ秒未満で適切な電極群を識別することができ、したがって、電極群を選択する時間は、目標によって知覚されない。
Claims (18)
- 電極群を介して目標に結合された刺激信号で前記目標を動けなくするための方法であって、
攻撃ステージに従って前記刺激信号を供給するステップと、
拘束ステージに従って前記刺激信号を供給するステップと、
休息ステージに従って前記刺激信号を供給するステップとを含む方法。 - 前記攻撃ステージ中の前記刺激信号は、第1の繰り返し率を含み、
前記拘束ステージ中の前記刺激信号は、前記第1の繰り返し率より低い第2の繰り返し率を含む請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記攻撃ステージ中の前記刺激信号は、前記目標に第1の電荷量を供給する第1のパルスを含み、
前記拘束ステージ中の前記刺激信号は、前記目標に、前記第1の電荷量より少ない第2の電荷量を供給する第2のパルスを含む請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記攻撃ステージ中の前記刺激信号は、イオン化ポテンシャルより低いピーク電圧を有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- パス形成ステージに従って、かつ前記パス形成ステージが、前記攻撃ステージに先行していたかどうかに従って、前記試験信号を条件付きで供給するステップをさらに含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 攻撃ステージにおいて前記刺激信号を供給するステップは、毎秒約5パルスから毎秒約50パルスまでの範囲内のパルス繰り返し率を有するパルスシリーズを供給し、前記シリーズの少なくとも1つのパルスを、イオン化ポテンシャルより低いピーク電圧で供給して、約20マイクロクーロンから約1355マイクロクーロンまでの範囲内の電荷量を送るステップを含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 各パルスは、約50マイクロクーロンから約150マイクロクーロンまでの範囲内の電荷量を供給する請求項6に記載の方法。

- 前記所定の電荷量は、約50マイクロクーロンから約150マイクロクーロンの範囲内にある請求項9に記載の回路。
- 請求項9に記載の回路を含む発射体。

前記シリーズの各パルスは、約500ボルトより低いピーク電圧振幅を有し、各パルスは、前記プロセッサ回路によって監視される電圧が、閾値電圧振幅を超えた後、終了され、前記閾値電圧振幅は、約20マイクロクーロンから約500マイクロクーロンまでの範囲を有する、ある期間内の所定の電荷量の供給に応じており、前記パルスシリーズの前記繰り返し率は、毎秒約5パルスから毎秒約50パルスまでの範囲を有する該プロセッサ回路とを含む回路。 - 前記所定の電荷量は、約20マイクロクーロンから約500マイクロクーロンの範囲内にある請求項9に記載の回路。
