Claims (4)
- 水素と一酸化炭素を含んだ内部生成された混合物(以下「合成ガス」という)を断続的に使用する補助システム(35)を備え燃料(20)で作動する内燃機関システム(11)において、
少なくとも前記補助システムに対して適量の合成ガスを改質装置(30)で生成すること、及び
第2期間を散在させた第1期間中に前記適量の前記合成ガスを前記補助システムに周期的に与えること(33、34、40)を含む方法であって、
前記第2期間中に、(a)前記適量の合成ガスのうち少量のみを生成するように、生成する前記合成ガスの量を削減するか(40、50)、又は(b)前記合成ガスを前記エンジンの燃料入口(43)に方向転換するか(33、40)、又は(c)連続作動する小型CPO(62)により生成された少量の合成ガスを前記改質装置に供給することを特徴とする方法。 - 窒素酸化物(以下「NOx」で示す)を有する排気(23)を、水素と一酸化炭素を含む内部生成される混合物(以下「合成ガス」という)で周期的に再成される吸着物質を有するNOxトラップ集合体(35)に供給し、燃料(20)で作動する内燃機関システム(11)において、前記NOxトラップに、合成ガスを供給する方法であって、
第1に、少なくとも前記NOxトラップ集合体中の吸着物質を再生するのに有効な量だけ前記排気及び前記燃料から合成ガスを改質装置(30)で生成するステップ;及び
第2に、第1期間より約8〜20倍長い第2期間を散在させた5〜10秒長のオーダーの第1期間の間、少なくとも前記有効量の前記合成ガスを前記NOxトラップ集合体に周期的に与えるステップ(33、34、40)を含み、
第3に、(a)前記合成ガスを前記NOxトラップ集合体から前記エンジンの入口(43)に方向転換し(33、40)、又は(b)前記有効量の合成ガスのうち少量のみを生成するように、前記合成ガスを生成するのに用いられる前記燃料及び前記排気の量を削減し(40、50、51)、又は(c)連続作動する小型CPO(62)により生成された少量の合成ガスを前記改質装置に供給することにより、前記第2期間中に前記第1ステップ又は前記第2ステップを変更することを特徴とする方法。 - 水素と一酸化炭素を含んだ混合物(以下「合成ガス」という)を生成する装置であって、
合成ガスにより周期的に再生される吸着物質を有する窒素酸化物(以下「NOx」で示す)トラップ集合体(35);
NOxを有する排気(23)を前記NOxトラップ集合体に供給し、かつ燃料(20)で作動する内燃機関システム(12);
前記NOxトラップ集合体中の吸着物質を再生するのに有効な量だけ前記排気及び前記燃料から合成ガスを生成する第1手段(30);及び
第1期間より約8〜20倍長い第2期間を散在させた、5〜10秒長のオーダーの第1期間の間、少なくとも前記有効量の前記合成ガスを前記NOxトラップ集合体に周期的に与える第2手段(33、34、40)を含み、
(a)前記合成ガスを前記NOxトラップ集合体から前記エンジンの入口(43)に方向変換すること(33、40)、又は(b)前記有効量の合成ガスのうち少量だけ生成するように、前記合成ガスを生成するのに用いられる前記燃料及び前記排気の量を削減すること(40、50、51)、又は(c)連続作動する小型CPO(62)により生成された少量の合成ガスを前記改質装置に供給することのいずれかによって、前記第2期間中、前記第1手段又は前記第2手段の動作を変更する第3手段を特徴とする装置。 - 前記NOxトラップ集合体中の吸着物質が炭酸バリウムを含む、請求項3に記載の装置。
