Claims (21)
- 円筒状の内部コア、
内部コアの周りに広がる内側電極、
内部電極の周りのらせん状巻き付け体として配置される薄層体及び
らせん状巻き付け体の周りに広がる外側電極
を含む一般には円筒状のハウジングを含み、
活性な処理セルが、らせん状巻き付け体の内部の空間及び該活性な処理セルでの電流密度の増大を制限するために配置されたその薄層体間の空間によって規定される電気脱イオンデバイス。 - 円筒状コア及び内側電極が、内側電極に近い位置と、外側電極に近い位置との間で2倍未満で変化する電流密度を規定するために配置される、請求項1記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。
- 薄層体の末端領域が電極の1つと本質的には平行して配置され、それにより、実質的に均一な電場が末端領域において薄層体全域に加えられる、請求項1記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。
- 内側電極及び外側電極の1以上が渦巻きを含む、請求項1記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。
- 渦巻きが電極ポケットを提供し、薄層体の終端が該ポケットに達する、請求項4記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。
- 薄層体が電極ポケットを封止し、薄層体により規定される流れセルが電極を介して連通する、請求項5記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。
- 薄層体の内側が高濃度側セルを形成する、請求項1記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。
- 薄層体内の1以上の封止用帯域が高濃度側の流れを規定する、請求項1又は請求項7記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。
- 帯域が、脱塩される流体の流れに対して横方向に配置され、別個の流路において異なるスケール形成成分を受け取り、維持するために設置され、方向づけられる、請求項8記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。
- 封止用帯域が、
a)薄層体よりも長い長さの流路を規定する機能;
b)塩水セルを低濃度側セルから隔てられた電解質セルとして規定する機能;
c)低濃度側経路に対する塩水経路の向きを規定する機能;
d)塩水の流れを、スケール形成を阻止するために塩水が酸性化されるように規定する機能;
e)2段階のらせん状EDI処理デバイスを規定する機能;
f)所望する方向で流れを誘導するために圧力低下を規定する機能;
g)塩水セルの流入口位置及び/又は流出口位置を規定する機能;及び
h)低濃度側セルの生成物又は供給物の流れからの受動的な内部のにじみ出しによる塩水供給を可能にする塩水経路インピーダンスを規定する機能
からなる群から選択される1以上の機能を行う、請求項8記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。 - 内部コアの周りに広がる内側電極、
内部電極の周りのらせん状巻き付け体として配置される1以上の薄層体及び
らせん状巻き付け体の周りに広がる外側電極
を含む一般には円筒状のハウジングを含み、
らせん状巻き付け体の内部の空間及びその薄層体間の空間がデバイスの流れセルを規定し、内側電極及び外側電極の1以上が、薄層体の終端が実質的には接線方向で電極に達するように構成される電気脱イオンデバイス。 - 内部コアの周りに広がる内側電極、
間隔をとって離れた2つの膜を含有し、内側電極の周りのらせん状巻き付け体として配置される1以上の薄層体、
らせん状巻き付け体の周りに広がる外側電極及び
ハウジングに送達される供給物の電気脱イオンのための流れパターン又は方向を規定するように、薄層体の内部及び/又はらせん状巻き付け体の薄層体間空間の内部においてあるパターンで膜と接触して適用される複数のシール
を含む一般には円筒状のハウジングを含む電気脱イオンデバイス。 - 一般には円筒状のハウジングを含み、環状の円筒状空間をその間で規定する内側電極及び外側電極と、環状の円筒状空間において巻かれた膜/スペーサ薄層体とを含むことで、膜/スペーサ薄層体の膜の間に規定される低濃度側流路及び高濃度側流路を有し、その実質的には全円周の回りに電極の1以上を平行して配置する電気脱イオンデバイスが構成されるようになる、電気脱イオンデバイス。
- 外側電極及び内側電極の直径が、内側電極における電流密度を制限するために有効な2.0未満の比率(好ましくは1.5未満の比率)を有する、請求項13記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。
- a)内側電極がアノードである;
b)デバイスが、塩水の流れを酸性化するように配置される;及び
c)膜/スペーサ薄層体が、まばらに充填された低濃度側経路及び/又は高濃度側経路を規定する
の1以上を満たすようにさらに構成される、請求項13又は請求項14記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。 - 軸に沿って一般には円筒状の形状で配置される半径方向での内側電極、
内側電極の周りのらせん状巻き付け体として配置される薄層体、
らせん状巻き付け体の周りに広がる半径方向での外側電極であって、
活性な処理セルが、らせん状巻き付け体内の空間及び半径方向での内側電極及び半径方向での外側電極の間の領域におけるその薄層体間の空間によって規定され、電極により形成される電流が、セルの半径方向の位置に関して逆比例して変化する、セルを通過する電流密度を有する外側電極、並びに
有効電流をより有効に利用するために半径方向の位置の関数として流れを変化させるための手段
を含む一般には円筒状のハウジングを含む電気脱イオンデバイス。 - 流れを変化させるための手段が、半径方向の位置がより小さいところではより大きい流れを提供するために有効な数及びサイズを有する、流路の一方の末端に配置された複数の流れ出入口を含む、請求項16記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。
- 薄層体がロール状の薄層体であり、流れを変化させるための手段が、その長さに沿って徐々に間隔が大きくなる複数の流れ出入口を含む、請求項16記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。
- 一般には円筒状のハウジングを含み、
軸に沿って一般には円筒状の形状で配置される半径方向での内側電極、
内側電極の周りのらせん状巻き付け体に配置される複数のスペーサ及び選択透過膜及び
らせん状巻き付け体の周りに広がる半径方向での外側電極
を含み、
低濃度側セル及び高濃度側セルが、半径方向での内側電極及び半径方向での外側電極の間の領域におけるらせん状巻き付け体の内部の空間によって規定され、
高濃度側セル内のセパレータ帯域により、低濃度側セルにおける流体から除かれた異なるスケール形成成分が分離され、該成分が異なる高濃度側流路に沿って導かれることにより、スケール形成が回避される電気脱イオンデバイス。 - セパレータ帯域が、
i)網状物スペーサ又はメッシュ状スペーサのストランド及び
ii)膜間に広がるシーラントの帯域
の中から選択される1以上の要素を含む、請求項19記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。 - 異なる高濃度側流路への別個の成分の輸送を選択的に高めるために配置された、低濃度側セルにおけるすイオン交換充填物をさらに含む、請求項19記載の電気脱イオンデバイス。
