Description

The present invention relates to a novel vehicular lamp. More specifically, the present invention relates to a technique for improving visibility of a light emission visual recognition area using two types of light sources in a vehicle lamp including two types of light sources that display different functions when turned on.

For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a vehicular lamp that includes two types of light sources that display different functions when turned on.

In the vehicular lamp disclosed in Patent Document 1, the light from the first light source is reflected by the rear surface of the light guide plate and irradiated forward, and the light from the second light source passes through the light guide plate and forwards. Is irradiated. Therefore, different functions can be displayed by lighting the first light source and the second light source separately.

By the way, in the vehicular lamp shown in Patent Document 1 described above, a part of the light from the second light source is diffusely reflected in the light guide plate and emits light over a wide area. If the second light source is turned on at the same time, the two light sources are mixed and emit light, which causes a problem that it is not clear what function is being displayed.

In view of the above-described problems, an object of the present invention is to improve the visibility of a light emission visual recognition area using two types of light sources.

In order to solve the above-described problem, the vehicle lamp of the present invention includes a first light emitting diode (hereinafter referred to as “LED”) that emits light in a direction substantially perpendicular to the optical axis of the lamp, and the first light emitting diode. A reflector that reflects the light of the LED substantially forward, a second LED that emits light substantially in the direction of the optical axis of the lamp, and a light that extends in the direction of the optical axis of the lamp, and transmits the light of the second LED from the rear end to the front end A wide main plane extending substantially in the front-rear direction of the light guide body at an angle substantially perpendicular to the emission direction of the first LED, and a light guide body made of a transparent material for guiding light. Part of the light of one LED passes through the main plane of the light guide and reaches the reflector.

Therefore, in the vehicular lamp of the present invention, the light of the first LED is reflected by the reflector and irradiated forward, and the light of the second LED is emitted forward from the front end of the light guide. Therefore, the area illuminated by the first LED and the second LED is clearly distinguished.

The vehicular lamp according to the present invention includes a first LED that emits light in a direction substantially perpendicular to a lamp optical axis, a reflector that reflects light from the first LED substantially forward, and a lamp optical axis direction. And a light guide made of a transparent material extending in the optical axis direction of the lamp and guiding the light of the second LED from the rear end to the front end. The wide main plane extending substantially in the front-rear direction forms an angle substantially perpendicular to the emission direction of the first LED, and a part of the light of the first LED is transmitted through the main plane of the light guide. And reaching the reflector.

Therefore, in the vehicular lamp of the present invention, the light of the first LED is reflected by the reflector and irradiated forward, and the light of the second LED is emitted forward from the front end of the light guide. Therefore, the front surface of the reflector is visually recognized brightly by the first LED, and the front end of the light guide is visually recognized brightly by the second LED. Therefore, the area illuminated by the first LED and the second LED is clearly distinguished, and even if the first LED and the second LED are turned on at the same time, if the lighting color of each LED is different, It is visually recognized that one LED and the second LED are lit simultaneously.

In the invention described in claim 2, the second LED and the incident portion of the light guide on which the light of the second LED is incident are located on the back side of the reflector. The light that is emitted from the light but does not enter the light guide is prevented from being irradiated forward by the reflector. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the light that has not entered the light guide from the light emitted from the second LED from being emitted forward as uncontrolled light.

In the invention described in claim 3, since the lens unit for condensing the light of the first LED toward the reflector is disposed between the first LED and the reflector, LED light can be effectively led to the reflector and can be used effectively.

In the invention described in claim 4, since the first LED and the second LED are turned on or off at different timings, the vehicle is provided with two types of light sources having different display functions by lighting. The lamp can be configured in a small size, and the light emitting area by the second LED can be clearly seen.

The best mode for carrying out the vehicular lamp of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.

The illustrated vehicle lamp 1 is a marker lamp disposed on both sides of the front or rear of an automobile, and the front of the lamp body 2 is covered with a transparent front cover 3.

The lamp body 2 includes an upper body 21 positioned on the upper side and a lower body 22 positioned on the lower side of the upper body 21. A back cover 4 is disposed on the rear side of the upper body 21.

The upper body 21 is formed with through-holes 21a and 21b that penetrate in the front-rear direction and are long in the left-right direction, at positions spaced vertically. A reflector 23 is formed on the front surface of the upper body 21. The reflector 23 is composed of a plurality of reflective segments 23a arranged stepwise in the vertical direction, and the reflective segment 23a is formed by shifting the position back and forth so that the lower one is positioned rearward. ing.

In the through holes 21a and 21b of the upper body 21, for example, light guides 5a and 5b that are formed of a transparent material such as acrylic resin and polycarbonate and have a long plate shape in the left-right direction are disposed. 5b projects forward from the reflector 23, and its front end surface extends to the vicinity of the inner surface of the front cover 3. A large number of fisheye step-like diffusion elements 6 are formed on the front end surfaces of the light guides 5a and 5b, for example. In addition, a plurality of incident end faces 51 are formed at the rear ends of the light guides 5a and 5b in a stepwise manner in the left-right direction, and these incident end faces 51 are located at substantially the same position as the rear face of the upper body 21. For example, the Fresnel step-shaped condensing element 7 is formed.

The lower body 22 is formed with a plurality of placement recesses 22a (only one is shown in FIG. 2) opened on the upper surface, and the first LED 9 is placed in the placement recess 22a. For example, a Fresnel lens-shaped condensing lens 8 is arranged in the opening of the arrangement recess 22a. The optical axis x9 of the first LED 9 is positioned so as to extend in the vertical direction, that is, so as to extend in a direction substantially perpendicular to the lamp optical axis mx, and the main planes of the respective light guides 5a and 5b. 52 is positioned so as to be substantially perpendicular to the optical axis x9 of the first LED 9.

A plurality of second LEDs 10 are arranged on the back cover 4 so as to face the incident end faces 51 of the light guides 5a and 5b. And the optical axis x10 of this 2nd LED10 is located so that it may extend in the front-back direction substantially.

When the first LED 9 is turned on, the light is collected by the condenser lens 8 along the optical axis x9, travels toward the reflector 23, is reflected by the reflector 23, passes through the front cover 3, and forwards the lamp light. Irradiation along axis mx. At this time, since the two light guides 5a and 5b are positioned so that the main plane 52 is substantially perpendicular to the optical axis x9 of the first LED 9, the light of the first LED 9 is guided to the light guide. The light passes through 5a and 5b and reaches the reflector 23. Therefore, the light of the first LED 9 is not irradiated forward from the front end face via the light guides 5a and 5b. Therefore, when viewed from the front, the portion corresponding to the reflector 23 (see FIG. 4) Only 4) is shown shining.

When the second LED 10 is turned on, the light enters the light guides 5a and 5b from the incident end face 51 of the light guides 5a and 5b. At this time, the light of the second LED 10 is condensed along the optical axis x10 by the condensing element 7 and proceeds forward in the light guides 5a and 5b. And it radiates | emits ahead from the front-end surface of the light guides 5a and 5b. At this time, the light is diffused by the diffusing element formed on the front end surfaces of the light guides 5a and 5b, passes through the front cover 3, and is irradiated substantially forward. Since the light of the second LED 10 is irradiated forward only by the light guides 5a and 5b, when viewed from the front, as shown in FIG. 5, the portion corresponding to the front end face of the light guides 5a and 5b (FIG. 5). Only the item with a satin pattern on it appears to shine. Since the incident end face 51 of the second LED 10 and the light guides 5a and 5b on which the light of the second LED is incident is located on the back side of the reflector 23, the light of the second LED 10 is guided. Light that has not entered the bodies 5 a and 5 b is prevented from being irradiated forward by the reflector 23. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the light that has not entered the light guide from the light emitted from the second LED 10 from being emitted forward as uncontrolled light.

In the vehicle lamp 1, different display functions can be exhibited by making the emission colors of the first LED 9 and the second LED 10 different. For example, if the light emission color of the first LED 9 is set to red and the light emission color of the second LED is set to amber color, the tail LED function can be achieved by turning on the first LED 9 and the second LED 10 can be turned on. Turn signal lamp function can be demonstrated by lighting. Further, by varying the timing of turning on or off the first LED 9 and the second LED 10, the tail lamp function is exhibited by the lighting of the first LED 9, and the stop lamp function is exhibited by the lighting of the second LED 10. As described above, the vehicular lamp including two types of light sources having different display functions when turned on can be configured in a small size, and the light emitting area formed by the second LED can be clearly seen.

It should be noted that the shapes and structures of the respective parts shown in the above embodiments are merely examples of specific implementations when carrying out the present invention, and the technical scope of the present invention is limitedly interpreted by these. It should not be done.
