While the cover K placed on the cover cover means 80 is moved to the vicinity of the paste application surface by the first drive means of the cover cover means 80, the cover holding members 88 and 89 are shaken by the motor M3 of the first drive means. The cover K is pressed and held. As a result, the cover K is prevented from moving during the movement of the cover cover means 80, and is accurately adhered to the glue application surface of the sheet bundle Sa.

When the detection means PS detects that the cover sheet K has approached the glue application surface of the sheet bundle Sa, the cover pressing by the cover sheet holding members 88 and 89 is released by the motors M2A and M2B.

In these drawings, U is the top side representing the top surface when the sheet bundle Sa and booklet Sb are upright, and L is the ground side representing the bottom side of the sheet bundle Sa, booklet Sb, sheet bundle Sa, and booklet Sb. Show.

FIG. 9 is a cross-sectional view showing the cover K folding process.

FIG. 9A shows the initial position of cover cover folding. The sheet bundle Sa to which the glue has been applied is held by the fixed-side holding member 41A and the moving-side holding member 41B of the holding unit 41, and comes into contact with the cover sheet K placed on the cover cover exterior unit 80.

At this time, the cover sheet pressing surface XA of the first bending member 86A stands by at a position separated by a distance L1 from the sheet bundle gripping surface Y (hereinafter referred to as the reference plane Y) of the fixed gripping member 41A. Further, the cover sheet pressing surface XB of the second bending member 86B stands by at a position separated from the reference surface Y of the fixed-side gripping member 41A by a distance L2. This distance L2 is a position separated by a distance L1 from the maximum thickness Tmax of the sheet bundle Sa capable of case binding processing.

FIG. 9B shows a cover folding start position. The sheet bundle Sa is gripped and lowered by the fixed gripping member 41A and the movable gripping member 41B, the pressing member 83 is pushed down against the bias of the spring 91, and stops at the folding start position.

FIG. 9C shows a cover folding end position. The first bending member 86A moves a distance L1, and the cover sheet pressing surface XA presses one side surface of the sheet bundle Sa that contacts the reference surface Y through the cover sheet K. At the same time, the second bending member 86B also moves the distance L1, and presses the side surface of the sheet bundle Sa.

<Pressure member swing mechanism>
When the adhesive pasting surface extending from the top side to the ground side of the back of the sheet bundle Sa gripped by the gripping member 41 is in contact with the pressure member 83 in an inclined state with respect to the horizontal plane Hz, the conventional shaking is performed. In the pressure member that does not have a moving mechanism, the back portion of the sheet bundle Sa held by the holding member 41 and the pressure member of the cover sheet exterior means are stuck in a one-to-one state, and sticking failure occurs.

The pressing means of the present invention is a pressurizing spring that is urged by a spring so as to pressurize the bonding surface from the top side U to the ground side L of the sheet bundle Sa so as to make it evenly contact. A pressure member 83 is provided.

FIG. 10 is a side sectional view showing a state where the back portion of the sheet bundle Sa is held horizontally and the pressure member 83 presses the sheet bundle Sa. FIG. 11 is a plan view of the pressing member 83 and the pressing means.

A pressing means is disposed on the bottom surface side of the pressing member 83. The pressure member 83 is urged upward in the vertical direction by two springs 91a, 91b, 91c shown in FIG. The springs 91a, 91b, 91c are positioned by corresponding bosses 91A. The upper limit position of the pressing member 83 biased by the springs 91a, 91b, 91c is regulated by two stoppers 92 fixed in the vicinity of both side ends of the pressing member 83.

On the inner side surfaces of the two stoppers 92, the side end portions of the pressure member 83 slide to regulate the horizontal position. Two rods 93 are planted in a hanging state near the side end of the pressure member 83. The rod 93 is fitted into a guide member 94 fixed to the main body of the cover exterior means 80. The guide member 94 has a hole with an oval cross section parallel to the longitudinal direction of the pressure member 83, that is, the pasting surface from the top side U to the ground side L. Therefore, the short axis direction of the hole of the oval cross section is fitted and positioned with the outer diameter of the rod 93 to restrict the movement of the pressure member 83 on the short side. In addition, since there is a degree of freedom in the long axis direction of the hole portion of the oval cross section, even if the rod 93 is inclined due to the inclination of the pressure member 83, there is no interference.

In this way, the longitudinal direction from the front surface side F to the rear surface side R of the pressing member 83 shown in FIG. Even if the back part on which the adhesive sticking surface is formed is inclined in the longitudinal direction connecting the top part side U and the ground part side L, it is in contact with the cover K placed on the pressure member 83 uniformly, The back portion of the sheet bundle Sa and the cover K are adhered closely.

Next, the inclination on the short side of the pressure member 83 will be described.

FIG. 12 is a partial cross-sectional view of the bookbinding apparatus before improvement showing a state in which the cover sheet K is stuck to the back of the sheet bundle Sa.

The gripping means 41 that grips the sheet bundle Sa includes a fixed-side gripping member 41A and a moving-side gripping member 41B. One sheet surface of the sheet bundle Sa abuts on the reference surface Y of the fixed side holding member 41A, and the other sheet surface of the sheet bundle Sa abuts on the surface of the moving side grasping member 41B.

The gripping means 41 can grip a sheet bundle Sa composed of a maximum of about 200 sheets. In this case, the back portion of the sheet bundle Sa is disposed at a symmetrical position with respect to the approximate center of the pressing member 83 in the short side direction.

However, when the number of sheets of the sheet bundle Sa is small, the back portion of the sheet bundle Sa abuts on a position as shown in the figure shifted from the center of the pressure member 83 urged by the spring 91 and becomes an eccentric load. The pressurizing member 83 is inclined, and the sheet bundle Sa is joined to the cover K in a deformed state, so that the appearance quality of the booklet is deteriorated.

In addition, due to the inclination of the pressure member 83, the rod 93 implanted in the pressure member 83 is inclined, and the inner wall of the upright guide member 94 that guides the rod 93 so that the rod 93 can be moved up and down, and the outer peripheral surface of the rod 93. Due to abnormal contact, the pressurizing member 83 may not move up and down smoothly, and there is a possibility that a defect may occur in the adhesion between the sheet bundle Sa and the cover K.

<Bending the cover>
FIG. 13 is a cross-sectional view illustrating a process of sticking the cover sheet K to the sheet bundle Sa.

FIG. 13A shows a cover folded state in which the adhesive sticking surface of a small number of sheet bundles Sa gripped by the gripping means 41 is in contact with the cover sheet K placed on the upper surface of the pressure member 83.

The sheet bundle Sa to which the glue has been applied is held by the fixed-side holding member 41A and the moving-side holding member 41B of the holding means 41, and comes into contact with the cover sheet K placed on the pressing member 83.

An abutting member 95 is fixed to the gripping means 41. The abutting member 95 protrudes in parallel with the paper surface of the sheet bundle Sa sandwiched between the fixed-side gripping member 41A and the moving-side gripping member 41B of the gripping means 41 and abuts against the pressing member 83 so as to be able to contact and separate.

The abutting member 95 is arranged on the upper surface of the pressure member 83 on the side facing the reference surface Y of the fixed-side gripping member 41A with respect to the rod 93 of the pressure member 83 and at a position where the cover sheet K is not placed. Has been. That is, in the plan view shown in FIG. 11, the reference surface Y of the fixed-side gripping member 41 </ b> A is disposed above the pressure member 83 in a direction close to the illustrated left side surface, and above the pressure member 83, the right side illustrated. An abutting member 95 is arranged above the spring 91b at a position close to the surface.

The lower end portion of the abutting member 95 is arranged so as to be substantially flush with the back surface of the cover sheet K attached to the back portion of the sheet bundle Sa sandwiched between the fixed side holding member 41A and the moving side holding member 41B. Has been.

FIG. 13B shows the cover folding start state. The sheet bundle Sa is gripped by the gripping member 41 and descends, and the back of the sheet bundle Sa pushes down the pressure member 83 that holds the cover sheet K, and reaches the folding start position. As the gripping member 41 is lowered, the abutting member 95 fixed to the gripping member 41 is also lowered, and the tip of the abutting member 95 presses the upper surface of the pressure member 83. The pressure member 83 is held in a horizontal state by the back portion of the sheet bundle Sa and the abutting member 95 and descends against the spring bias, and the cover sheet K placed on the upper surface of the pressure member 83 and the sheet bundle The pasting surface of the back portion of Sa is evenly closely contacted.

Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 9C, the cover sheet K is bent by the horizontal movement of the first bending member 86A and the second bending member 86B.

<Ejection of booklet>
After the cover K folding process is completed, the cover cover exterior means 80 is lowered and retracted by the lowering drive of the belt 85 shown in FIG. As a result, the lower end of the belt contacts the discharge belt 101 and is slid in the transport direction by the discharge belt 101. The booklet Sb is placed on the surface of the rotating discharge belt 101 and conveyed, discharged outside the apparatus, and accommodated in the paper discharge apparatus C.

<Discharge device C>
The booklet Sb discharged by the discharge belt 101 is placed on the elevating / discharging tray 103 of the sheet discharge device C through the discharge opening 102 shown in FIG. When the booklet Sb is discharged and stacked on the lifting / lowering tray 103, the lifting / lowering tray 103 is sequentially lowered by the rotating wire 104. When the elevating / discharging tray 103 reaches the bottom dead center, the booklet Sb is transferred to the transport belt 105 and is discharged out of the apparatus by the rotation of the transport belt 105.

Note that the bookbinding apparatus B of the present invention is formed in an independent apparatus and the sheet bundle Sa processed by another image forming apparatus is loaded on the sheet bundle accommodating means 30, and then the glue application process and the cover cover exterior process are performed. It is also possible to make case binding.
