Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a job processing apparatus, a control method for the job processing apparatus, and a storage medium, and more particularly, to a job processing apparatus on a network such as a copier, a scanner, a printer, and a facsimile apparatus that can handle digital images. The present invention relates to a method for controlling the job processing apparatus and a storage medium.
In recent years, this kind of non-impact printer that can print on recording paper without giving a physical impact by promoting high image quality and low price, such as laser beam printer (LBP) and inkjet printer (IJP). Is rapidly spreading. With the spread of non-impact printers, the digitalization of copiers has progressed, and not only copiers are used for copying, but also copiers equipped with printers, scanners, facsimile functions, etc. The machine is spreading rapidly.
Such a multifunction peripheral has a network interface that controls an interface function with respect to the network, and the multifunction peripheral can be shared by a plurality of users via a computer connected to the network. Thus, by sharing a multifunction peripheral having various functions with a plurality of users, it is possible to reduce the area occupied by the apparatus in the office space and improve the utilization efficiency of the apparatus.
However, in the above-described conventional multi-function device, since the copier is merely combined with a printer, a scanner, or a facsimile function, it is not always convenient for the user.
For example, if multiple users specify the print operation at the same time, each printed job is mixed on the paper discharge tray, and as a result, when the user comes to pick up his job after the print operation is completed, There is a risk of taking time to find out. In addition, when the user has instructed a printing operation to print a job, but left the job for a long time without taking it, or forgot to get the job May cause the recording paper to overflow on the paper discharge tray, which may take a long time to find your job, and it may not be possible to find the desired output information because someone else has taken your job by mistake. There is. Such a problem becomes a particularly serious problem when information requiring confidentiality is printed out or output by facsimile communication.
As means for solving such a problem, it is conceivable to shift the paper discharge tray for each job so as to make it easy to identify the separation for each job, or to assign a sorter bin for each job.
However, such a device is not a drastic solution because there are many users who share a copier or the like, and the discharge tray and the sorter bin fill up in a short time. In particular, in the case of non-confidential document information, etc., the copier performs sequential printing operations, so a plurality of jobs are mixed in the paper discharge tray, and as a result, it is possible to search for its own job in a short time. May be difficult.
Further, when outputting confidential information by facsimile transmission, the sender transmits the personal identification number to the receiver at the time of transmission, while the receiver inputs the personal identification number at the time of output, and the storage unit of the facsimile apparatus It is possible to ensure the confidentiality of the output information by outputting the confidential document stored in the password after being input to the personal identification number.
However, a series of operations for obtaining output information by inputting such a personal identification number is not used in practice because the operation itself is complicated, and in particular, a large number of users share one MFP. In this case, there is a possibility that a specific person may occupy the multifunction device for a long time for the input operation of the personal identification number, and the practical value is low.
On the other hand, in recent years, an increase in the capacity of a hard disk, an increase in the capacity of a memory device made of a semiconductor, and a reduction in price have progressed, and accordingly, the cost in units of storage capacity has also been reduced. In some copying machines, output information described in an original image or a page description language (hereinafter referred to as “PDL”) is converted into image data, the image data is compressed, and the hard disk is temporarily stored. A system has been developed that stores in a drive (HDD), dynamic memory (DRAM), etc., and outputs the image data while expanding the image data in real time when a plurality of pages or a plurality of copies of image data is accumulated.
In such a copying machine, since the development time when developing the output information described in PDL varies greatly depending on the contents of the data, a plurality of functions such as a copying function, a facsimile function, a printing function, and an image reading function are provided. The functions can be executed at the same time, and the printer or scanner can be used efficiently. That is, in the copying machine, when the image data of a plurality of pages or a plurality of copies is accumulated, the image data is output while being expanded in real time, so that the printing function is not operated even though the copying function is not operated. The problem that other job processing cannot be executed during job execution can be solved.
However, such a method allows efficient use of a printer or scanner when only a specific user is dedicated, but it is not always effective when a plurality of users share a single multifunction device. There is a demand for the construction of an information processing system that cannot function and is easy to use.
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and a job processing apparatus, a method for controlling the job processing apparatus, and a storage medium that are improved in usability when a plurality of users share and use a multifunction machine.
In the present embodiment, the user ID, ID code, FAX address, mail address, and total number of jobs stored in the ID card are displayed in the upper part of the touch
Various display fields are provided following these displays. That is, as the display columns, a job number column, job ID column, title column, total page column, password (PW) necessity column, date / time column, time column, and status column are provided. , Job number, job type (FAX, PRT (print), SCN (image reading), EML (email)), title, total number of pages of job, necessity of password (* in the figure indicates password input) Indicates the required job.), The date, time, and job status when the job was created.

ジョブNo.0010はRIP(Raster Image Processor)中であることを示している。
In this embodiment, the job No.
The
As shown in FIG. 5, the ID card is specifically a user name, an ID code, a password if necessary, a FAX address indicating a line number for facsimile communication, and a mail address for e-mail. Is stored.
That is, when there are four users, each person's name, for example, AAAA, BBBB, CCCC, DDDD, is stored as a user name, and ID codes corresponding to the user names are, for example, ID-AA, ID-BB, ID-CC and ID-DD are stored.
When a user (for example, user name AAAA) designates printing on the
The password proves that the user is a legitimate user in order to prevent the ID card from being misused by others when the ID card is lost. For example, PWAA, PWBB, PWCC, PWDD Is stored in the ID card as a password if necessary. By storing the password in the ID card, even when a highly confidential document is handled, it is possible to ensure confidentiality without leaking the contents to others.
Further, facsimile communication and electronic mail management can be performed using this ID card.
When performing facsimile communication, the ID code of the transmission destination is stored in the header portion of the communication data, while the ID code corresponding to each user, that is, the correspondence table is stored in the
Also, when sending and receiving electronic mail, job management can be performed in substantially the same manner as when performing facsimile communication. That is, for example, the mail address AAAA @ companyx. When an e-mail is sent to com, the
As the ID card, an optical control card or an IC card that optically reads ID information, an ID card / entrance card for security, or the like may be used.

In step S11, it is determined whether it is necessary to add a password to the job. In other words, when a document or the like is created using a word processor (word processor) or spreadsheet application software, the job data to be printed may need to maintain confidentiality, and such confidentiality is not required. Decides that it is not necessary to enter a password, and if confidentiality is required, it is necessary to enter a password. If the answer to step S11 is negative (No), the process proceeds to step S13. If the answer to step S11 is positive (Yes), the

In step S21, it is determined whether or not FAX transmission is performed, and transmission / reception is determined. If the answer to step S21 is affirmative (Yes), it is determined that the facsimile data is to be transmitted. In the subsequent step S22, the ID code recorded on the ID card is read and sent to the
In step S25, a change process such as a transmission destination and an additional item is performed on a plurality of files stored in the
On the other hand, if the answer to step S21 is negative (No), it is determined that the facsimile data is received, and the process proceeds to step S27. In step S27, the ID code recorded on the ID card is read, the

In step S41, it is determined whether or not there is an incoming mail requiring password input. If the answer is negative (No), the process proceeds to step S43. If the answer is affirmative (Yes), the process proceeds to step S42. Then, the
Next, in step S43, it is determined whether or not there is an outgoing mail requiring input of a password. If the answer is negative (No), the process proceeds to step S45, whereas if the answer is affirmative (Yes), step S44 is performed. Then, the
Next, in step S45, e-mail transmission / reception processing is executed, and in subsequent step S46, necessary e-mail is selected from the processed e-mails, and the printer driver software is activated to convert it into a printable data format. After that, the data is transmitted to the

FIG. 10 is a flowchart of a control procedure executed by the
In step S51, it is determined whether there is a program that can be executed in the idle state. And when the answer is affirmation (Yes), it progresses to Step S52 or Step S53 as needed. In step S52, RIP processing is executed and raster development of the PDL is performed. In step S53, a job management process is executed to automatically process a job that has already been developed by the RIP process but is left without being output for a long time.
Further, after the process of step S52 or step S53 is executed, or when the answer to step S51 is negative (No), the process proceeds to step S54, and the ID card is inserted into the fourth ID

In step S71, it is determined whether or not there is an old job. If the answer is negative (No), the process is terminated as it is. If the answer is affirmative (Yes), the

In step S81, the ID code stored in the ID card is recognized, and a job corresponding to the ID code is searched. Next, in step S82, it is determined whether or not there is a job requiring password input. If the answer is negative (No), the process proceeds to step S84. If the answer is affirmative (Yes), the process proceeds to step S83. The

In step S91, the ID code recorded on the ID card is read and it is determined whether or not it is necessary to input a password for each input transmission data. If the answer is negative (No), the process proceeds to step S94. If the answer is affirmative (Yes), information indicating that a password is required is added to the transmission data, and a FAX transmission operation is executed (step S94), and the process is executed. Thus, even after the transmission document is read by the

As described above, in this embodiment, the user ID information is recognized through the first to third ID
FIG. 21 is a system configuration diagram showing another embodiment of the information processing system. In this other embodiment, a

The present invention is not limited to the above embodiment. In the above embodiment, jobs are stored in the
