Abstract
【解決手段】本発明の無線通信ネットワークにおいて用いる方法および装置において、通信リンククォリティおよび負荷レベルの関数として、基地局のうちの、最良のサービス提供アクセスポイントを検索し、それによって、加入者端末が、RF状況および負荷レベルの変化に反応できるようになる。一実施例において、固定無線アクセスにおける無線モデムが、加入者端末の最初の電源投入時、または通信リンククォリティの劣化または負荷レベル等のトリガ状況に応答して、アクセスポイント検索アルゴリズムを開始する。複数の隣接アクセスポイントのビーコンを検出した後に、無線モデムが、通信リンククォリティおよび相対負荷レベルの関数として、最良のアクセスポイントを選択して、適正なサービスクォリティを維持すると共に、負荷レベルの変化に反応する。

Claims (10)
- 無線通信ネットワークにおいてアクセスポイントを選択する方法であって、
1つまたは複数の基地局の複数のアクセスポイントから、アクセスチャネル情報(「ビーコン」)を検出するステップであって、前記ビーコンはそれぞれ、対応するアクセスポイントに関連する負荷レベルを示しかつ隣接リストは複数の隣接アクセスポイントに関連する無線周波数チャネルを示すステップと、
前記複数のアクセスポイントに関連する相対負荷レベルの関数として、1つのアクセスポイントを選択するステップとを含む方法。 - 前記1つのアクセスポイントを選択するステップが、前記複数のアクセスポイントそれぞれに関連する通信リンククォリティを考慮するものである請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記複数のアクセスポイントからビーコンを検出するステップが、現在サービスを提供しているアクセスポイントに関連する負荷レベルが閾値を超えるときに開始される請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記複数のアクセスポイントからビーコンを検出するステップが、現在サービスを提供しているアクセスポインの通信リンククォリティが、閾値未満に低下したときに開始される請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記複数のアクセスポイントからビーコンを検出するステップが、
選択された無線周波数検索チャネルにおいて、アクセスポイントのビーコンを検出するステップと、
該検出されたビーコンから前記隣接リストを得るステップと、
前記隣接リストにおいて示される無線周波数チャネルにおいて、前記隣接アクセスポイントそれぞれのビーコンを検出するステップとを含む請求項1記載の方法。 - 前記複数のアクセスポイントからビーコンを検出するステップが、
初期無線周波数検索チャネルを設定するステップと、
該初期無線周波数検索チャネルにおいて、ビーコンを検出することができるか否かを決定するステップと、
検索チャネルの許容可能な範囲内で、更新された周波数検索チャネルを設定するステップとを含み、
該更新された周波数検索チャネルを設定するステップが、ビーコンを検出することができるまで繰り返される請求項5記載の方法。 - 無線通信ネットワークにおいてアクセスポイントを選択する装置であって、
1つまたは複数の基地局の複数のアクセスポイントから、アクセスチャネル情報(「ビーコン」)を検出する検出手段であって、前記ビーコンはそれぞれ、対応するアクセスポイントに関連する負荷レベルを示しかつ隣接リストは複数の隣接アクセスポイントに関連する無線周波数チャネルを示すような検出手段と、
前記複数のアクセスポイントに関連する相対負荷レベルの関数として、1つのアクセスポイントを選択する選択手段とを備える装置。 - 前記選択手段が、前記1つのアクセスポイントを選択するときに、前記複数のアクセスポイントそれぞれに関連する通信リンククォリティを考慮するものである請求項7記載の装置。
- 前記検出手段が、
選択された無線周波数検索チャネルにおいて、アクセスポイントのビーコンを検出し、
該検出されたビーコンから前記隣接リストを得て、
前記隣接リストにおいて示される無線周波数チャネルにおいて、前記隣接アクセスポイントそれぞれのビーコンを検出することで、複数のアクセスポイントからビーコンを検出する請求項7記載の装置。 - 前記検出手段が、
初期無線周波数検索チャネルを設定し、
該初期無線周波数検索チャネルにおいて、ビーコンを検出することができるか否かを決定し、
検索チャネルの許容可能な範囲内で、更新された周波数検索チャネルを設定することで、ビーコンを検出し、
該更新された周波数検索チャネルの設定は、ビーコンを検出することができるまで繰り返される請求項9記載の装置。
