Description
The present invention reads and writes information by performing short-range wireless communication by electromagnetic induction coupling with a non-contact IC medium (information recording medium) such as a non-contact IC card or a non-contact IC tag in which information is stored. The present invention relates to a reader / writer device and an antenna of the reader / writer device.
In general, a reader / writer device has a loop-shaped antenna 2 patterned with a metal such as copper on an antenna substrate 1 made of epoxy resin or the like as shown in FIG. It is electromagnetically coupled to a non-contact IC medium (not shown) to supply power to the non-contact IC medium.
Then, when a command is transmitted from the
However, the conventional reader / writer device has the following problems.
Since the reader / writer device is generally used by being incorporated in a vending machine, a transaction terminal device, or the like, the mounting surface of the antenna 2 that is electromagnetically coupled to the non-contact IC media is positioned so that the user can easily hold the non-contact IC media. In addition, since an input / output device such as an LED (Light Emitting Diode) is also provided for displaying the payment amount, etc., the design for determining the position and shape of the reader / writer device is often restricted.
In addition, as described above, the conventional display is performed by using an LED or the like. However, if a display using liquid crystal, organic EL (Electroluminescence), or the like can be applied, it is possible to increase the amount of display information and improve the visibility. There is. The degree of appeal to such users is increasing.
However, since the antenna 2 is patterned with a metal such as copper as described above, visibility is impaired when the antenna 2 is arranged on the front surface of a display such as a liquid crystal or an organic EL. Although the method of arrange | positioning the antenna 2 on a display apparatus back surface can be considered, since a communication distance becomes short by the thickness of a display apparatus, a user's convenience will be impaired.
The present invention has been made in view of such problems, and firstly, it is intended to suppress a decrease in communication distance. Second, a display capable of displaying a large amount of information with good visibility can be mounted by applying liquid crystal, organic EL, or the like. At this time, the visibility is hindered or the convenience of the user is impaired. The purpose is not to do. Thirdly, an object of the present invention is to provide a reader / writer device and an antenna of the reader / writer device that have a degree of freedom in designing to determine the position, shape, etc. of the reader / writer device.
In order to achieve the above object, a reader / writer device according to claim 1 of the present invention includes an antenna that communicates with a non-contact type information recording medium, and a signal processing circuit that processes signals transmitted and received by the antenna. In the reader / writer device that reads / writes information from / to an information recording medium close to the antenna, the antenna formed from a conductive material and a transparent antenna substrate, and the signal processing circuit are formed. A thin plate-like display means for displaying characters and images is interposed between the signal processing circuit board and the signal processing circuit board.
According to this configuration, since the transparent antenna is disposed on the display unit, the visibility of the display unit is not hindered. In addition, since the antenna is disposed on the uppermost surface of the reader / writer device, the electromagnetic coupling distance with the information recording medium can be minimized, thereby enabling highly sensitive transmission / reception. There is no loss of sex. In other words, it is possible to display information on the display unit with high visibility while maintaining the convenience of the user when using the information recording medium.
In addition, since the antenna, the display, and the signal processing circuit are stacked in this order and the antenna is disposed on the foreground, the communication distance can be shortened by the thickness of the display compared to the case where the antenna is disposed on the back of the display. In addition, since the distance between the antenna and the signal processing circuit can be increased, it is possible to suppress a decrease in communication distance due to the signal processing circuit.
The reader / writer device according to claim 2 of the present invention is characterized in that, in claim 1, the antenna is formed of a conductive material having transparency in a loop shape.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, there is provided a reader / writer device according to the first aspect, wherein a magnetic material is disposed between the signal processing circuit board and the display means.
According to this configuration, the Q value indicating the degree of resonance of the antenna characteristics is increased depending on the arrangement of the magnetic body, so that the communication distance of the antenna can be extended correspondingly. Moreover, the adverse effect of the metal circuit pattern on the signal processing circuit board shortening the communication distance of the antenna can be suppressed by the magnetic material.
A reader / writer device according to a fourth aspect of the present invention is the reader / writer device according to the first aspect, wherein the reader / writer device is electromagnetically coupled to the antenna and electrically connected to the signal processing circuit board between the signal processing circuit board and the display means. The loop coil by the metal conductor connected to is arrange | positioned.
According to this configuration, since the antenna and the loop coil are electromagnetically coupled in the same manner as the coupling between the primary side and the secondary side of the transformer, and the loop coil is a metal conductor, the loss of antenna characteristics can be reduced. As a result, the electromagnetic coupling efficiency is improved, and the communication distance can be increased.
A reader / writer device according to claim 5 of the present invention is characterized in that, in claim 4, a magnetic material is disposed between the loop coil and the display means.
According to this configuration, the same function and effect as described in claim 4 can be obtained.
The reader / writer device according to claim 6 of the present invention is characterized in that, in claim 4, a resonance capacitor is provided in an electrical connection portion between the loop coil and the signal processing circuit board.
The reader / writer device according to claim 7 of the present invention is the reader / writer device according to claim 2, wherein the antenna is stacked in a state where a plurality of the loops having substantially the same shape are shifted from each other, and the loops are connected to the signal processing circuit. It is characterized by being connected in parallel.
According to this configuration, since a plurality of thin film loops made of a conductive material having transparency are stacked in a state where they do not overlap as much as possible, the transparency that decreases as the film thickness increases can be maintained. In addition, since the loops are connected in parallel to the signal processing circuit, the resistance value of the antenna is lowered and the communication distance of the antenna is increased.
The reader / writer device according to claim 8 of the present invention is the reader / writer device according to claim 2, wherein the antenna is formed by stacking a plurality of loops having substantially the same shape and the same size, and the loops are parallel to the signal processing circuit. It is characterized by being connected to.
A reader / writer device according to claim 9 of the present invention is characterized in that, in any one of claims 1 to 8, the conductive material is any one of indium tin oxide and indium zinc oxide.
According to this configuration, the antenna can be made substantially transparent.
The antenna of the reader / writer device according to claim 10 of the present invention is a thin film loop formed of a transparent conductive material in the antenna of the reader / writer device that communicates with a non-contact type information recording medium. It is characterized by that.
According to this configuration, since the antenna is transparent, even if a display means for displaying characters and images is placed under the antenna, the visibility is not hindered. Can communicate well. In addition, since the antenna can be disposed on the uppermost surface of the reader / writer device, the electromagnetic coupling distance with the information recording medium can be minimized.
Further, in the reader / writer device according to claim 11 of the present invention, the antenna of the reader / writer device according to claim 10 is laminated in such a manner that the thin film loops do not overlap as much as possible, and the loops communicate with the information recording medium. It is connected in parallel to a signal processing circuit for processing information.
As described above, according to the reader / writer device of the present invention, it is possible to suppress a decrease in communication distance. In addition, a display capable of displaying a lot of information with high visibility can be mounted by applying liquid crystal, organic EL, etc. At this time, the visibility is hindered or the convenience of the user is impaired. Can be eliminated. Furthermore, there is an effect that a degree of freedom can be provided in the design for determining the position and shape of the reader / writer device.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. However, parts corresponding to each other in all the drawings in this specification are denoted by the same reference numerals, and description of the overlapping parts will be omitted as appropriate.
(First embodiment)
FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a configuration of a reader / writer device according to a first embodiment of the present invention.
A reader / writer device 10 shown in FIG. 1 includes a display 12 and an
As shown in FIG. 2, the
The loop antenna 13b is obtained by forming a thin film of indium tin oxide, indium zinc oxide, or the like, which is a conductive material having transparency, using a sputtering apparatus or the like. The plurality of loops of the loop antenna 13b are stacked so as not to overlap each other as much as possible and are connected in parallel to a signal processing circuit formed on the signal processing circuit board 11.
The carrier frequency for supplying electric power of the contactless IC media f f 0, the antenna inductance L a, when the capacitance of the capacitor is C,
In general, a conductive material has a resistance value larger than that of a metallic material such as copper, and it is known that transparency increases when the film thickness is increased. By adopting the loop configuration, the resistance value can be lowered and transparency can be ensured at the same time.
As another form of the
Further, as shown in FIG. 6, the antenna may have a structure in which loops having substantially the same shape have a laminated structure and are translated as viewed from the antenna surface. In this way, since the overlapping part of the pattern is reduced when viewed from the antenna surface, the transparency is not lowered and the current of each loop becomes the same, so that the communication distance can be increased as described above.
According to the reader / writer device 10 of the first embodiment, since the
Furthermore, when a metal plate exists around the antenna, it is known that the communication distance is reduced due to an eddy current flowing through the metal plate. In particular, in the signal processing board, the circuit elements are arranged in addition to the metal pattern such as the ground, so that the eddy current is not uniform and it is difficult to optimally adjust. By disposing the display unit between the antenna and the signal processing board as shown in FIG. 1, the distance between the signal processing board and the antenna can be taken. Compared to the case where the antenna is arranged between the display unit and the signal processing board, It is possible to obtain effects such as a reduction in communication distance due to the signal processing board or easy adjustment.
In other words, it is possible to display a lot of information on the display device 12 with good visibility while maintaining the convenience of the user when using the non-contact IC media.
Further, the display device 12 is not provided with a reader / writer device like an LED or the like, but is integrated into the reader / writer device 10, so that the design for determining the position, shape, etc. of the reader / writer device 10 is restricted. Disappears. In other words, the design has a degree of freedom.
(Second Embodiment)
FIG. 7 is a diagram showing a configuration of a reader / writer device according to the second embodiment of the present invention.
The reader / writer device 20 shown in FIG. 7 is different from the reader / writer device 10 shown in FIG. 1 in that a square plate-like magnetic body 21 is disposed between the signal processing circuit board 11 and the display 12. is there.
By arranging the magnetic body 21 in this way, the communication distance can be extended. The reason for this will be explained.
Q=2π・f・L/R
As an antenna characteristic, there is a Q value indicating a resonance degree represented by the following equation.
Q = 2π · f · L / R
Here, f is the carrier frequency, L is the inductance of the loop antenna, and R is the resistance of the loop antenna.
Generally, when Q is large, the communication distance becomes large. If the magnetic body 21 is disposed, only the inductance L can be increased, and thus the communication distance of the
According to the reader / writer device 20 of the second embodiment as described above, since the communication distance of the
In addition, it is known that when a metal plate is present around the antenna, the communication distance is reduced. However, in the configuration shown in FIG. 7, the magnetic material 21 suppresses the influence of the metal pattern of the signal processing circuit board 11. You can also.
