Abstract
【解決手段】波長可変レーザ光源を自体で生成する波長変換器200は、外部電流が印加された場合に光ノイズを生成し、外部から印加された光を増幅させて第1光源を生成し出力する第1半導体光増幅器112aと、互いの反射光が入力されるように配置され、前記光ノイズ成分のうち所定の波長成分のみを反射させ、第1半導体光増幅器112aに印加する第1及び第2分布ブラッグ反射器130a、130bと、第1分配型光増幅器130aから反射され出力された第1光源から二分割された一方の光源と入力データ光源が印加され、入力データ光源のデジタル信号によって二分割された一方の光源の位相を変化させて第2光源を生成して出力する第2半導体光増幅器112bと、を備える。

図4は、本発明の実施形態に係る波長可変レーザ光源を自体で生成してプローブ光源として使用する波長変換器を示す図である。
図5及び図6は、本発明の実施形態に係る波長変換器装置によりシミュレーションを行った結果を示すグラフである。シミュレーションには、VPI Photonics社の商用シミュレータを用いた。

Claims (10)
- 外部電流が印加される場合に、光ノイズを生成し、外部から印加された光を増幅させて第1光源を生成し出力する第1半導体光増幅器と、
互いの反射光が入力されるように配置され、前記光ノイズ成分中所定の波長帯域の成分のみを反射させ、前記第1半導体光増幅器に印加する第1分布ブラッグ反射器及び第2分布ブラッグ反射器と、
前記第1分布ブラッグ反射器から出力された前記第1光源から二分割された一方の光源と、入力データ光源とを印加され、前記入力データ光源に含まれるデジタル信号に応じて前記二分割された一方の光源の位相を変化させた第2光源を生成して出力する第2半導体光増幅器と、
を備え、
前記第1半導体光増幅器及び前記第2半導体光増幅器からそれぞれ出力される前記第1光源と前記第2光源とが重ね合わせられ、強め合う干渉または弱め合う干渉の干渉現象を通じて波長変換された信号を出力することを特徴とする波長変換器。 - 前記第1半導体光増幅器から出力される前記第1光源は、位相変化を生じないことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の波長変換器。
- 前記強め合う干渉は、前記第1光源と前記第2光源との位相が一致すれば発生することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の波長変換器。
- 前記弱め合う干渉は、前記第1光源と前記第2光源との位相が一致しなければ発生することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の波長変換器。
- 前記第1光源の大きさは、前記第1半導体光増幅器に印加される外部電流の大きさにより変わることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の波長変換器。
- 前記第1光源の波長を微調整するための位相シフト媒質をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の波長変換器。
- 前記位相シフト媒質は、前記第1半導体光増幅器と前記第1分布ブラッグ反射器との中間に位置することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の波長変換器。
- 前記位相シフト媒質は、前記第1半導体光増幅器と前記第2分布ブラッグ反射器との中間に位置することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の波長変換器。
- 前記入力データ光源の大きさを調節するための第3半導体光増幅器をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の波長変換器。
- 前記第1半導体光増幅器、前記第2半導体光増幅器、前記第1分布ブラッグ反射器、及び前記第2分布ブラッグ反射器は、同一基板上に配置されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の波長変換器。
